I am quite disappointed. I was going to make it 2 but 2.5 it is, since there were still someone who was nice there and not all the food was bad. I usually look forward to buffet , since I'm always excited what they got to offer. Service: In this case even as we entered the girl that helped us was very demeaning we felt like we were being judged us how we looked (you'll know why later , please keep reading). We ask politely if we can moved closer to the buffet because we have a newborn with us and of course someone who just gave birth it's hard to walk around. They plainly said no and says that area is close where we pointed to sit at. We have a visitor from Canada and we just wanted to have a good time. Then a few minutes later with the same lady we saw her leading two ladies that speaks the same language she does and sat them where we requested. We just thought to ourselves maybe it's not meant to be, but when it happened twice and another group of family came with two kids who spoke the same language that's when we were thinking maybe they just choose who they want to sit there. I know we're not super skinny but girl we felt isolated in the corner and not to mention the walk is not a mile but in our mind by the time we reach the buffet I feel like we're already full from walking back and forth (maybe that is the point) hehe. In addition, I kept noticing the guy keeps checking his cellphone and texting someone then when he noticed I was looking he hid his phone quickly. I know we're in the corner so we also see what they do behind the other customers. Ever since we were seated our empty plates were taken but our sodas and water was never refilled for the last one hour and half we were there. They never even smile once and just kept giving that gloomy look. The only nice person there that helped me a lot with my food was the guy who made my yakisoba (it wasn't bad at all too). Food: Not all the food was fresh like we expected , but not all of them was bad. There were a few dishes that we loved including the eggplant and honey shrimp. I also love the udon yakisoba that I put together to be cooked. The dessert was a little sad, since there weren't much of choices like feast Buffet, but the flan was pretty good. Stopped by this buffet after a day of thrifting with my boyfriend. We were greeted and seated immediately, there's an automatic 10% gratuity added to the bill. The seafood quality was alright, they had typical varieties of Asian buffet food. They also had a grill for you to choose your noodle stir-fry options. Overall, the experience was alright. Ughhhh....this place is all sorts of terrible. We came here for a birthday party recently and were given use of a private area over on the right side of the restaurant. It was fairly busy for a Saturday night, which was surprising, given the quality and taste of food. The food is downright mediocre and tasteless, but perfect if you only care about filling up your belly for a nominal cost. The sushi bar was sketchy (I didn't trust it), while the rest of the 'Asian' cuisine was just meh. Dessert options were terrible and the overall consensus was "how is this place still in business?!" This restaurant has always been consistently good ever since they opened. They have not skimped in anyway on the quality of their food. The variety of what they have is amazing. I miss this place a lot since I moved from the area, but make it a point to go there when I return. I was very surprised to see that they have doubled their lunch price. you step in the door and you are greeted by a cashier stand, it is a buffet so they want you to pay before which is understandable but it costs $80 for two people, you don't get to see the food first since you are immediately greeted by a cashier, plus an added on 10% tip that is required, not sure what the tip is for since at this restaurant you serve yourself but whatever, maybe the food is good right? Wrong. Typical heat lamp half warm food. The deserts were the only good thing about this place because they didn't have to be warm to be good. For $80 i would assume you would have at least good food. The chow main tasted bland, sushi is okay, everything else skip it. and the forks taste like the sanitizer they wash them in. Met some peoples here for a lunch, it's a bit of a trek for me to go to the Bel-Red area from where I live, so I was hoping this place would be worth it. Came here for lunch on a weekend and plenty of tables were available, just tell them how many in your party, they will take you to the table, place drink order, then you can have at it at the buffet stations. Picked at it for a bit, so I decided that it may have been a poor choice on my end thought I'd go for round 2 and really load it up thinking it will be better......again...picked at it and bleh. There was only a few things that I liked, the green beans, beef & broccoli and that's about it. It seemed like some items were warmed up and stir fried up from the night before because it was just extremely overcooked and dried out like the Sesame Chicken, that chicken was so tough. Other items were just super weak with no filling inside the baos, dim sum meat looked a little sketch, sushi items were falling apart, even the dessert was a bit weak, the soft serve tasted like powdered milk, fruit from a can etc. Pricing was pretty high for lunch buffet for $20, wasn't much of any service, had to go up to the drink station ourselves to ask someone back there for refills etc. Overall, it was pretty bleh. read more

Came to visit Bellevue/Seattle area from Vancouver, Canada. Buffet was pretty good. Prices seem fair and as usual, the prices on holiday here is the same as other buffet places, Vancouver area doesn't have this. Food selection was generous. Roasted pork was great and melts in your mouth. Crawfish, crab, shrimp and clams were great for seafood lovers. Veggie dishes was few, wish there was more selection. Dessert was good also with a chocolate fountain with strawberries. I had ice cream and fruits for my desserts. Would recommend this if your in the area. I ate so much I could barely walk properly. My friend treated me for lunch here yesterday and we enjoyed it. They have a broad selection of a variety of American and Asian food. Some were only okay, but some dishes were excellent. My favorite was the battered fried fish, which was moist, with a crispy coating and tasted great with their tartar sauce. (Fries were available, if I wanted "fish and chips.") There seemed to be a bit of something for everyone: ribs, sausages and roast meat, some seafood dishes (I liked their crab casserole), Mongolian stirfry, sushi (both nigiri and rolled), noodles (I especially liked their thin rice noodle dish). I saw that they had a good sampling of dimsum (char siu bao, sticky rice, shrimp balls and several other options), but I wasn't able to try them. This is probably not a cost effective choice for a vegan, though they did have some vegetarian dishes and lots of fresh fruit. The variety of food are unbelievable and the sushi bar is just great! The price is another great thing about that restaurant. I had dinner here with my family a couple of weeks ago and I'm happy I did because now I know I'll never come back again. Every time I've been here the customer service has always been bad. The servers/bus boys walk around with an awkward smirk on their faces. They look bored, annoyed and like they have a secret they're all in on. When I wasn't receiving bad customer service, I was receiving no customer service. To be honest, I'm not sure which one was worse. I actually come here moderately often. It is a huge space and it is inside a shopping square, so it is easy to find and parking is accessible and free. There really isn't a lot of service to talk about, as it is a buffet. But I will say that you are seated immediately upon coming in, and a drink order is taken. After that you pretty much left to your own. I do like that they can handle the payment at your table and you don't have to get up to pay. The price here is pretty expensive and not all drinks are included in the buffet price. You can plan to spend around 20$ a person here on a dinner service. But the food is plentiful. There is a hot pot stand where they cook and fry the bowl you put together for you. Stations for salads, desserts, Japanese food, Chinese food, soups, din sum, chocolate fountain, soft serve ice cream and some American food as well. The Asian food is not traditional and is more in the American style. If is fairly average in comparison to other Asian restaurants. The American food I wouldn't recommend here, but again, why would you come to an Asian buffet and eat pizza? Overall, it is a fairly pleasurable experience and I definitely get pretty full. Something is off of most of their food it wasn't a typical taste of chinese food, baked scallops has sweet taste, salmon is overcooked, sweet & sour soup is too spicy, garlic pork ribs is sweet and couldn't taste any garlic, prime rib has poor meat quality, sui mai is dry inside and no chilli sauce available, crab was fried which doesn't really taste good prefer the steamed, and sushi aren't good as well. A good friend of mine has been raving about this restaurant for a while but I hadn't had a chance to go there until about 3 weeks ago. My friend and I met there on a Friday afternoon around 1:30pm for lunch. So many options to choose from....I started with the baby clams with a black bean sauce, yummy. Also tried very small portions of several dishes from the hot food section, tofu, mixed veggies, fried plaintains, fresh asparagus, salmon, shrimps, they also have a sushi section, full salad bar, and dessert table with lots of fresh fruits. Food was very tasty and well cooked. The staff keep replenishing the food trays. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant and restrooms were clean and well kept. I wish there were a "0 star" option for this review. I used to like and visit Mandarin Buffet quite often before the pandemic. But the recent dining experience was very disappointing. The restaurant has increased the buffet prices significantly and meanwhile worsened the menu a lot. There was no more birthday discount, or corporate discount, etc. There is a mandatory surcharge of 10% for everyone. We went on a Saturday, the price per person was $23.99. The menu was hardly interesting. In the hot bar, many of the usual specialty items (like roasted duck, lobster, mutton soup, braised pork feet, kongbao chicken, etc) were all missing. The available menu was tasteless. The fried octopus was like chewing a uncooked rubber. My all-time favourite sesame balls were also very hard, tasting like unfresh ones reheated from the previous day. The only thing I liked was baked scallop. In the susi bar, the fried fish skin was very dry and hard. I was not able to chew it at all. The eel susi was okay. But in the next plate, I noticed a small fly walking on the susis, so immediately lost interest in all foods. In icecream fridge, 3 flavours (strawberry, vanilla, chocolate) were available in individual small cups. However, they were tasteless and were the worst icecream that I have ever had. Regarding pandemic precaution, the restaurant supplies disposable gloves for free use when taking food from the trays. However, tables were arranged next to each others with no difference from before the pandemic. Most guests don't wear masks when taking food. Overall, Mandarin Buffet has become really disappointing. Of all the, dismal, Asian-inspired but secretly Mandarin Chinese "eating house" buffets of King and Pierce County that I have been to, Mandarin is by far the best. Damning with faint praise, yes - because it's still exactly what I said it was; but it's not bad. It's actually not bad! For once, I didn't leave hungry or worried that I had consumed week-old glue! This place is packed, completely packed - always. I don't know if they earn their money on volume or if they earn their money on beverages. It doesn't matter, because - for once - at what is a weird Seattle-area tradition I still cannot fully understand the food is edible! Hallelujah! It's fast, it's simple, there's variety. Everything tastes like food. It's not amazing, it's not something I'd seek out by any means; though it is rapidly becoming apparent that I am the only major-leaguer foodie in the family. So, I mean for me to give this place when my usual staple of Bai Tong right across the street three stars means most people probably have an amazing time. I admit, I am jaded - I've been all of the World. Sometimes, though, people want to literally eat all they can in prawns. That is not me. This is their domicile. Mandarin is their domain. This was one of my favorite Buffets to visit until recently! I decided one evening about 1 week ago to go to Mandrin Buffet seeing they were just opening back up. I went in, they take your temperature; I paid and proceeded to go towards the buffet...I noticed not one person had used the gloves nor used the hand sanitizer that was scarcely placed in a few places. After getting my food, I sat and then in came a family of about 25 people who were in line; seated and then proceeded to go to the buffet...I saw 2 people used the Sanitizer & the Gloves. Finally, I went up to the front desk and informed them that no one was using the hand sanitizer or the gloves to handle the food. To my surprise the Manager told me that folks have a choice to either use the hand sanitizer or the gloves. I immediately shared that I didn't think that was acceptable seeing they are serving so many people and they needed to do a better job of ensuring the food utensils weren't touched and making sure folks were using the hand sanitizer and then grabbing the gloves to get their food. I then saw that worker put more boxes of gloves out and she literally had to go to about 20 people to ask them to use the gloves and to my amazement people were like Oh yeah; as if Covid wasn't happening. It ruined my outlook of this place because I seen people touching their hair, licking their fingers, and much more and then going back into the line to get more wihtout gloves. It think its irresponsible of the folks who manage the Mandarin to not want to take precautions more seriously especially because its not ala carte...Im not sure it was permanent that the folks were going around asking people to grab the gloves or if it was just because they noticed I was there and said something. Either way, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN...I live by Feast Buffet in Renton and they do not play when it comes making sure everyone is masked up and hand sanitizing/wearing gloves to handle any of the utensils used to grab the good. People know the drill automatically and to see that the Mandrin Buffet was so non-challant about food handling and the safety of others turned me off from wanting to ever go there again. I think the health department should be called on them. This proves that a business such a a Buffet can't rely on it patrons to do the right thing or be responsible and I was just shocked at how careless people were. Its the business's responsibility to protect its patrons as best they can under these covid circumstances. Taking a temperature isn't full proof; nor does it guarantee folks don't have covid.
