One of my favorite bingsu places. The mangos were sweet and they had mango purée in the shaved ice so it tasted like mango as you were eating. They have a self service kiosk. You just order what you want and they call your number when your order is ready. They have a decent amount of seats inside. The bathrooms were clean. read more

Only stop here after dinner to get some bingsooooooo. I have to say the mango and injeolmi flavors are my go to and will never disappoint. The portion sizes are too much for me and my Fiancé (this is right after a big meal of dim sum or korean food) but we still always end up finishing it. You know it's good when you feel like you are about to explode. Service has always been meh for me. I always use the order tablet in the front and never at the counter. Recently I had to prove my order with a receipt (paper or digital) which i don't mind. The place always had such a weird smell to me. It's a mixture of cleaning supplies and old rags. It seems like just me though because every time i bring someone here they never smell it. read more

MandRo is a classic bubble tea/ boba house that also offers shaved snow and other desserts. The big draw to MandRo for me is the Mango sago drink that is surprisingly difficult to find. The mango sago here is overloaded with sago ( clear round starch balls similar to tapioca). The sago is just the right compliment along with the creamy mango drink. Outside of the mango sago drink, Mandro serves more traditional drinks like the classic milk tea and brown sugar with fresh milk. MandRo also has board games which makes it a nice hang out spot if you're looking to get together with friends. Consider MandRo if you like good drinks with a nice relaxed place to hang out. read more

Bingsoo is always my go to with friends when I come to mandro and today is no different. I ordered a small mango bingsoo for me and one other friend and surprisingly, we finished it. The mangos were very sweet but did notice that they sliced the mangos a lot thinner than before so there were less mangos. The ice was fluffy and had no flavor whatsoever but paired with the mango and condensed milk, it was heavenly. read more

The bingsu was good, but I wished they'd given us more creamer since the creamer was an important element, it adds more flavor and sweetness to the bingsu, otherwise it would be very bland without it. The portion was worth the price, but with very little creamer they gave, it was only enough for the first half of the bowl. It would be an extra charge if you ask for another creamer fyi. read more

Stopped by MandRo on the way from Tahoe to the South Bay for a mini nostalgia trip. Per rave reviews, I ordered a mango bingsoo. Mango bingsoo was so-so. The mangos weren't sweet (yeah I know they're not in season but if you're going to have something on your menu, it should be up to par). The shaved milky snow was light and pleasant, if not a little bland. I would not recommend ordering this off season. A regular size is enough for 2 average eaters to share. Drink-wise, the matcha strawberry texture was a bit gritty, but the flavors were pronounced and paired well together. The regular sweetness was a good level for this drink. read more

I don't know what they put in their shave ice but the texture is amazing and it feels like ice cream once you put that amazing white stuff (yes I know it's condense milk) all over the delicious ice creamed filling with the mango all over the top. You can get other flavors too such as strawberries and Chocolate but the mango is the crowd favorite. I tried their season mango Avacado drink, I forgot the nickname but it was okay. Mandro tea house is one of a kind for those who don't want to go far for bingsu. What is that you say? It's a Korean shaved ice dessert that is described by many as having a soft and snow-like texture with lovely fruit and various toppings! There is no way you won't find parking, there are tons! Yes, there is no music. The place could definitely benefit from some happy tunes to match its delicious bingsu, but it's not the end of the world. Take it to go, it tastes even better out in the sunny fresh air! Decide whether you want a regular or large size. The regular portion is ideal for two people, but totally possible to finish if one was super hungry. Hands up, I am guilty of this =) ! There are flavors of fruit that we all are familiar with like classic strawberry and mango. You want something more unique? They have more flavors like injeolmi, matcha red bean, chocolate, or caramel. Which do I get? Strawberry- A pile of thinly tart strawberries covered with a fruit like sweet syrup, condensed milk, and chewy rice cakes on top. In each order you will get an extra mini serving of sweet condensed milk. Add as you get more towards the bottom where there are less toppings! Gets even better when you let the fruit syrup flow down! Mango- Ohh, perfect chunks of naturally sweetened mango that is also covered in fruit syrup! I would suggest ordering both strawberry and mango to have the best of both worlds. Keep in mind it is more expensive than your double scoop of ice cream. You may have had better, but I don't mind paying a little more for a treat that is typically not found elsewhere in our area. These days it is all about trying something new! It took me a while to finally make the drive here. Upon walking in, you immediately get the whole community vibe. You have students on laptops, families spending time together, and groups of friends catching up and playing board games. There is a lot happening in one place. The environment is super inviting and I imagine that it is super easy to spend hours here. Free wifi too! Always a plus! I stayed and sat at a small table for a while and enjoyed taking in the environment as a way to de-stress from my day. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte with boba and it was on point! The matcha wasn't too grainy, the balance between the strawberry and matcha was just right, and it wasn't too sweet. The boba was soft, chewy, and also not too sweet. It was also still a little warm. Tried bingsoo for the first time here and WOW I was blown away. The texture of the ice is very soft and melts on your tongue. I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty the mangos were. They were sliced thinly and complimented the ice perfectly. Another surprise was that there were lots of mango chunks mixed inside the ice. Many places cheap out and only put fruit on top but MandRo goes all out. Eating this with condensed milk makes it even more tasty. But make sure to bring a friend (or two). The mountain of bingsoo is a lot to eat and even after splitting one, I felt like I ate more of the creamy dessert than I should have. read more

Went there around 9pm on Sat night with a group on from a hike. Super tired. Placed our order via the self-serviced pay station and waited. And waited...and waited...and waited!! About 45-50 mins later, we finally got our mango bingsu!! It tasted alright, except the size nothing really fancy about it. Not worth the wait. Could have let all customers know the long wait time before taking orders. read more

Solid spot in Davis for milk tea and bingsoo (Korean shaved iced). Have tried a few of their milk teas and they are definitely tasty. Strong on the tea flavor without being bitter and boba is cooked to a chewy, soft consistency. Their drinks aren't too sweet and you can adjust them to your liking. Bingsoos are served in a poke take out container and portions are massive! They fill that puppy up to the brim with sweet snow and toppings of your choice. I usually opt for the mango or strawberry. Snow is soft and creamy and fruit is sweet. Once you top it with the condensed milk, game over! One of my favorite dessert spots in the area. Be sure to check them out! read more

the boba pearls and sago are always fresh. the matcha isn't good in my opinion, but everything else i've tried is 10/10. i work very close to here so i've tried almost everything on the menu -- my favorite is the mango sago. the bingsoo is really yummy with the rice cakes inside it, definitely worth a try. it's usually pretty busy in here and the lights are very sterile, but if you're coming with friends they have little board games and things of that nature. staff is friendly. read more

Management should have their employees take a refresher in customer service etiquette. Most horrible workers I've ever met. This worker needs to be fired... why does this place charge automatically for tip, if they dont do anything to deserve it. She gave attitude toward a customer for simply asking if there was any issues and continued to stared into our car until we left. This person is just totally rude and lack of customer service skills. Got an injelomi (mochi) bingsoo and it was fairly large, but it tasted like nothing lol. The mochi was hard. I would not be able to eat one on my own, nor would I want to. read more

I've missed this place so much. I'm not usually in Davis anymore but when I do find time to pass through I always get the strawberry Bing Su and the Mango Sago. The large size of the Bing Su is probably enough for 4 people, a little bit too much if you're sharing between two. I love that they give a side of sweetened condensed milk because you can pour it on after you finish the sweets they already added. I like that with the large you actually get 2 layers of strawberries. One on top and one in the middle. I hope they get back to using dishes soon because they used plastic to go bowls last time I was there. You do have to pay for extra condensed milk. I accidently spilled mine the last time I was here. read more

Every person I know who came to Davis, always says MandRo Teahouse is the best boba in Davis. I was expecting it to be located the university, but you definitely need to have a car or take the bus here! Located inside a small plaza, there is plenty of parking. The signage for MandRo is not very prevalent, but the inside is poppin'! We quickly ordered: 1) Mango milk tea with pearls (50% sweet, 20% ice) // +1 pearls were very good! Not too sweet, and very soft. Could be a bit chewier but I'd rather have cooked boba than not. +/-1 The mango portion was very prevalent, but I wished there was more of the "tea" portion. 2) Roasted rice powder shaved ice (came with red bean and mochi), regular size // -1 The shaved ice was okay- was not very fluffy. +1 good portion size, though! Definitely enough for 3-4 people. -1 Condensed milk was too watered down...seemed more like evaporated milk instead. Note: you can pick between reg or large size! Overall, I give the boba a 3.5 but the shaved ice a 3. At least there is free wifi! read more

Mandro is a staple in Davis and definitely one of my go-to boba shops. Not only that, but they serve bingsoo and I love their mango bingsu. We got the ingeolmi and mango one to share with 5 people and definitely wish we got the smaller size. For those who have never had bingsu before, it is a Korean shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings that may include chopped fruit, condensed milk, fruit syrup, and red beans. The "shaved ice" part is not similar to American shaved ice, but instead it is a super light and fluffy dessert and it melts in your mouth within seconds. I highly recommend their drinks and bingsu, they also have board games here! read more

I'm not really a fan of MandRo's boba but my go to is the okinawa MT from here! I got half sweet and it's still pretty sweet so I'd probably get it as close to 25% sweet next time. Mandro is generally amazing and I love going there. But today I got a piece of egg shell in my drink??? This has literally never happened before, but there is absolutely no reason for there to be egg in brown sugar fresh milk. Since the only ingredients in it should be milk, brown sugar syrup, and boba... Furthermore, this Mandro location only offers bingsoo and taro balls, neither of which need to be cooked or require ice. I will consider the fact that they might be experimenting with new menu items, but even then there shouldn't be egg shell in my drink... read more

Mandro has really good desserts (mango bingsoo, taro ball #3 are my faves). Their specialty drinks (mango sago, Hawaii fruit tea) are also really good. The only thing I don't like is that they don't have savory snacks like popcorn chicken. I also think it's important for any boba shop to have really good basic black milk tea / jasmine milk tea, & their basic milk teas aren't that good. If you're looking to get basic milk tea, other shops in davis are better. Mandros is pretty much only good if you get their specialty drinks / desserts. read more

I have been going here for 8 years. It was started by a couple from Taiwan and the owners the last several years are from China. I would say this is one of the better boba shops in Davis because quality of the drinks and of the boba are better than the average boba shops in Davis. I do like the setup of the location and its a cool spot to hang out with friends. read more

This place is one of the better boba places in Davis. I love their taro drinks because they use real taro. I also like their bingsoo. Lots of seating and their is WiFi so you can also study And another plus, they are dog friendly! read more

One of my fav teahouses because they also have good shaved ice. My fav drink is the kumquat basil seed lemon which is tart and refreshing with basil seeds in it. It's not too tart but tastes like an upgraded lemonade :) read more

best boba spot in davis! the only down side is it's a bit far from the central davis places. but they have the best boba and their bingsu is to die for. I recommend mango and green tea! I love Hokaido milktea read more

My order came out quickly. I was a bit worried this was going to be too sweet, but it wasn't. It was a nice balance of mango and cream, not too sweet, which was great. It was nice and refreshing on a warmer day. They don't have any indoor seating, so if you're looking to sit down inside, you'll need to bring this to go.

There is limited seating inside and outside, but it seems like most customers order their drinks to-go (campus is across the street, and downtown Davis is a couple of blocks away). Even with new boba shops opening in Davis all the time, I still go to RareTea for the consistency and convenience.
