The hand pull rice noodle are exceptionally delicious; everything else is quite good, too. It's definitely worth a try.

I always stop by and pick some dim sum or roast duck/roast pork to take home whenever I'm in the area. This time around, I'm very disappointed and upset with the younger girl who works here. I ordered various dim sum items. When I got home and opened the box, one order of the pan fried pork buns were missing. I called and all she said was come back and pick it up now or come by next time. WTH?! That's it?! I do not live near by and would have to be stuck in traffic to get what I ordered in the first place. Customer service is horrible and they expect to get tips for Togo orders but do not make sure all the items are inside the bag. Food here is good but customer service is horrible.

If you need a fix of Chinese BBQ/cheung fun in the manor area, this place hits the spot. It's not a place with the most welcoming ambiance, but you come here for the food. The roast pork is flavorful and cooked just right. Their clay pot rice and soups are also very authentic. The rice plates are sizable. Expect service to be minimal. Seating inside is limited. Tea is served if you dine in. Update: my mom ordered a duck to-go for our family dinner since her friends mentioned it was good here and for a good price, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! Stood in line for 20 minutes waiting for this a** hole chef to finish up with the 2 customers in front of me that cuts up the roasted duck and pork!! Another customer walked in after me speaking Chinese to him and placed an order before me, told him I was next and he started yelling said how should he know I was next. I said in Chinese you saw me standing there, what you think for my own health. Told him what I wanted and he still was yelling. I had a phone order too that was ready, told them to cancel everything and walked out!!! I usually don't complain about the services at Chinese restaurants because I know how they are, but when you start yelling and you're wrong that's when I'll say something. You have lost a customer that's comes in 2 to 3 times a month!!!

We ordered a medium sized roasted pig for Christmas 2024. It was bigger than I expected and it was so good, super crispy skin, and flavorful. It was a big hit amongst family and relatives.

I ordered a chow fun with roast duck rice this afternoon, I picked up around 1pm, only ate few, not much, and my son ate three fun and pea sprouts, I started diarrhea around 3pm, but I didn't realize that was because the food, after a nap, around 5pm, my son started diarrhea, and now, it's 9:47pm, my stomach still hurts. I still have the chow fun at my fridge, will consider take it to the lab tomorrow.

What a Welcomed Addition to the Washington Manor Asian Cuisine Scene !!!! Washington Manor was the last bastion of the Old San Leandro Caucasian Scene and is Gentrifying Into a Blooming Asian Cuisine and Market Scene . Washington Manor is Literally becoming a little Chinatown . Manor Point Kitchen Occupies a Space that was a former Beauty Parlor . The Space has been Remodeled and Converted into a Restaurant , They Open at 7 AM and Serve a Limited Dim Sum Menu and Porridge Breakfast Menu . I ate Breakfast there today and had Pork and Shrimp Dumplings , Chinese Tamales . It was a Tasty Breakfast !!! I also had the Roast Pig over Rice and Cabbage Plate . I wish the Pig Portion was Bigger , But the Roast Pig was a Suckling Pig so it was nice and Tender and the Skin was nice and Crispy . The Sell Primarily Roast Pig , BBQ Pork , Roast Duck and Soy Sauce Chicken !!! Welcome Manor Point Kitchen to the Manor you are a Welcomed Addition and a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment !!!!!

In the same plaza as 88 Manor market and Quicklys. Heard about this place from my mama. She got roast duck from them one night, I tried it and thought it was pretty good. Checked them out on Yelp and they had some dimsum items too! Went on a Saturday morning and tried the ha gow, siu mai, sticky rice lotus leaf, beef steamed noodle roll and preserved egg pork porridge. Overall, everything was pretty good. The porridge was thick and creamy and had a nice flavor. I would stay away from the steamed noodle roll, wasn't good. My total came out to $20! Fulfilling breakfast and won't break the bank. They had specials on the wall but it was all in Chinese! Couldn't read it. If only I paid more attention in Chinese school when I was younger lol. Anyway, will return!

Update 9/15/19: 3.5 stars I tried the soya pig intestines and stomach. It's pretty good, a bit too salty and sweet at the same time than I personally prefer. The intestines aren't completely intestines. Which to be honest is disappointing, but the intestines on the meat itself melts in your mouth. The price on the board ($4.99) is NOT the price. The person cutting will tell you how much it is. Which is annoying, they should just erase the price on the board or add a + sign next to it to show it may be more hut they're clear about it BEFORE they start cutting which is why it's bringing it down only half a star. That's so annoying but we'll see. I was thinking of ordering a pig for a ceremony but I think it's a bit dishonest, not sure if I would from them now. We'll see... Original review: 4 stars Seems like a nice small place. Really just went in to quickly get half a duck for dinner, it was pretty average. I'm just excited there's a place that's selling intestines, stomach, frog, pork offal porridge and beef organ noodle soup so close to my house because I like internal organs but not everywhere offers it. Also excited to try the dim sum in the morning! Haven't tried it yet but will make sure to update my review when I do. The staff seems really well dressed for the size and design of the place but honestly it makes me like it even more because they're putting in effort. They introduced themselves immediately in Cantonese but weren't rude when they realized I only speak English and did their best to communicate with me. Maybe that seems small but it's not, some restaurants can be rude because of this so I do appreciate it and will be returning to try everything on the menu ! I took pictures of the in person dinner menu and the to go menu for reference !

I was there at 7pm on a Saturday. I've seen this place cross my Yelp feed a few times, so I wanted to come try it. I also got a tip from a Yelp Elite that the roast pig was very good here. So I ordered the $8.99 Combo meal- Chow Mein and/or Fried Rice + 2 Items from the steam table. -at extra cost, you can sub meats from the BBQ/Cooked Meat section. So I got fried rice, and string beans w/ Chicken/Mushrooms. 2nd item was Chicken in gravy w/ mixed veggies. I asked them to put some gravy over the rice to make it soft and moist. Good portions! You get alot of food for $8.99. Chicken was very tender and easy to eat. All the foods were good. I also got 1/2 a roast duck and a small box of roast pig to try. They said they cook the roast ducks there. The duck had a mild flavor, but it was tender and moist. The roast pig was good. Moist juicy meat. Crispy crunchy pork skin. There's tables and booths in the dining room. The decor doesn't match an asian restaurant. Honestly, I can't remember what used to be here. The layout and outside design looks like an old style Taco Bell. They have a large parking lot. There's a 7-11 sign, but no 7-11 store. The staff was very nice. You just tell them what you want, and point at which tray of food. We ordered a mix of meats including the tri-tip, brisket, and ribs, along with several sides. Everything came out fresh and the meats were tender with a nice smoky flavor. The mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw were all solid choices, and the garlic bread was a nice addition. Service was friendly and the staff were helpful when explaining the menu. Prices felt reasonable for the amount of food we received. Overall, a very good local BBQ spot that we'd be happy to come back to. Oh yeah, the workers decided to mop the floor 2 hours before closing with some super loud water rake and all anyone could hear was this rake dragging on the loud concrete. That was pretty annoying. Food was 3 stars, loud noise and expense dropped it to 2 stars.

We had a group of friends meeting there at 1 PM to celebrate my husbands birthday. This was everyone's first time trying Fikscue While in line we grabbed some beers and Micheladas at Alameda Brewing. Around this time, a very sweet kind lady (maybe the owner?) came out and thanked the crowd for patiently waiting. I took the opportunity to ask her how long the wait from where we were would be. She estimated around 45 minutes. It turned out to be more around 1.5 hours. But we knew her answer was just an estimate. We ordered everything except drinks on the menu. And a lot of it. The meat was premium, juicy and tender. The smoky flavor really penetrated to the bone. We really enjoy the banana pudding dessert (not pictured). This location is cleverly located in between two breweries which is great because you can grab your food and a beer at either breweries. This bussiness seemed to cultivate community and an overall great spot to gather. The only negative experience our group had was with a couple in line in front of us. We were large group (8 people and 3 kids) and a friend accidently bumped into the couple in front of us twice. We were trying to take a group picture and bumped into the man. This grown man cursed us out calling us "effing idiots" and many other ridiculous names. Look we are all here trying to enjoy a delicious neighborhood mom and pop. Things happen, if you cannot be kind to your neighbor in line, stay home and order delivery. Accidents happen! No one got hurt. Besides that unsavory interaction, this turned out to be a great afternoon for all. We will definitely come back to try the desserts and beef cheeks.

I got the Tom Yum broth, and asked for a side of white rice which is free. The broth was super tart and flavorful, like mama noodles which I love. There were ingredients that you'd typically see at hot pot spots like beef, lamb, spam, tofu for proteins, and spinach, cabbage, corn, etc. for veggies. Lots of noodle options, and the sauce bar, although small, I really enjoyed the sesame sauce, house chili, and the spicy garlic sauce. They even have perfectly medium-cooked fried eggs that I felt went well with the tom yum broth. We were conservative with our ingredients because we didn't want to accidentally have a $40 bowl of soup, but we were under the minimum so we had to add a few more to get it to 0.80 ounces. At that minimum, our bowls were a very reasonable $13. The only con is that it's a bit small inside so I can see it getting annoying on busy weekends especially as people crowd around to choose ingredients. Luckily on a weekday late lunch it was pretty dead. Other small con is water is served in small paper cups so we had to ask for refills often. Small gripe but with spicy soup, water is needed and in large quantities to offset some of the spiciness. Service was amazing, prompt and friendly. Overall, solid spot and glad we got to try it!

Basically, you walk in, grab a bowl, and pick out whatever meats, veggies, noodles, etc. you want. Then you bring it to the counter, they weigh it, and that's how they charge you. I've always been kind of hesitant to try one because I was scared I'd end up with a $20+ bowl by accident. I was excited to see that Master Gua Malatang & BBQ opened up near me, so I finally gave it a shot. They charge $14.99 per pound with a minimum of 0.80 lbs, which honestly isn't bad. I tried to be smart and picked mostly light stuff like spinach, sprouts, and tofu. I avoided heavier stuff like corn on the cob or beef balls. When I went to weigh it, my bowl came out to 0.65 lbs, so I went back and added a little more meat and veggies to hit 0.85. My total came out under $13, which is a great deal for how filling it was. I got the satay broth, which is beef, shrimp, and fish-based with a peanutty flavor. It wasn't fishy at all, which I appreciated. My partner got the tom yum broth and I thought it tasted just like Mama brand instant noodles, in a good way. You also get a side of white rice with your soup, but you have to ask for it. Meat options were beef, lamb, and pork belly. Only downside is that all the meats are kind of fatty. Also, they give you tiny paper water cups. If they're gonna do that, they really need to have a self-serve water station or just give people bigger cups so you don't have to keep asking for refills. The service was great though. The lady working was super friendly and helpful. If you're worried about the price, I recommend just filling your bowl with what you think you'll eat, weighing it, and then adding more if you need to meet the minimum. They also have a sauce bar so you can make your own dipping sauce, but it would be cool if they put out some suggested combos for people who don't know what to mix. Overall, I'll definitely be back. This place is perfect for a quick, comforting meal especially if you're nursing a hangover.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!
