OK let me start by saying it is usually a pain in the ass for me to eat out. I am gluten intolerant and I usually eat a low fat, almost vegan, plant based, whole food diet. I am a waitresses' nightmare. Best thing about Maple Street Bistro? You order at the counter within ear shot of the person preparing the food. BIG HELP. I emailed ahead a few days ago and got a quick and friendly response from the owner with suggestions on what would be best to order. I decided ahead of time to order the Greek salad with no bread and no chicken but extra hummus (as recommended). I let them know when I ordered that I was gluten intolerant and asked that the young man prepping the food do a glove change before handling my food. I was told that this was NOT a problem and in fact he would wipe down the prep area prior to fixing my lunch - YAY. The hummus, which I believe they make in house was delicious! I could have just eaten a big bowl of that! The salad was not my usual no fat fare - It was divinely decadent (by my standards) with marinated artichokes, olives, balsamic vinaigrette, hummus and the feta cheese that I decided to leave on... but it was a splurge and it was really, really lovely. My husband had the salmon chowder and a chef salad - and said both were very good. This establishment was clean and bright. They were busy with takeout orders at lunch time. I've been going here for years. I recommend the paninis (spicy ham and turkeyoncini are my favs), and the Sweet Roll or Maple Street lattes are so good if you like your coffee sweet. Don't skip the flavored whip cream. read more

Place needs a good cleaning, soup was served cold both for mine and my sons. Advertised gluten free and when we arrived we found out that they didn't have gluten free options today (Sunday). My wife got a salad, it was not the best. All in all it's a mediocre, the two young men working where nice, location is easy to find with lots of parking. Though the place looks good and the staff are kind the coffee isn't good, basic nothing special too sweet or too bitter, my cappuccino was that way too. Ordering for here you still get a plastic cup which for those who care is pretty wasteful. I didn't try the food but the deserts looked pretty sad and the coffee cake we got was dry and cheap looking and tasting. The water was also not the best with an after taste and some debris in it. As much as I want this place to be good I've had 2 disappointing visits and won't be coming back. read more

A little known secret that shouldnt be a secret. Staff are absolute sweethearts especially in the wake of dine-in services being banned during this COVID-19 crisis. Even with the chaos, they are beyond sweet, informative and make you feel at home. Food is flavorful and yummy. Housemade garlic focaccia is perfection, adding a very delicious garlic flavor to the panini. You HAVE to try the pesto mayo, it's to die for. Plus they have an amazing assortment of housemade pastries. Had the cinnamon roll and it was airy, delicious, and had cinnamon going all through it. My fiance and I will be coming here at least once a week to try all the different foods. I 100000% believe this place has something for everyone. Cute exterior. Drive-thru is a cool concept but I'm afraid that's where my praise ends. Interior is cramped. The line of people waiting to order was right up against my chair. They have a variety of baked goods but the cinnamon roll was dry and didn't seem freshly baked. Day old maybe? Their muffins looked promising. The grilled cheese had to have been a joke. The cheese slices were still in sliced form! The focaccia was also dry and seemed on the verge of being stale. There was also mayo in the sandwich. What?? The breakfast club was half the size of the grilled cheese which made me wonder if we had been given just half of the sandwich. There was no honey mustard but they did put a lot of mayo. I've been looking for a breakfast place mainly for a good breakfast sandwhich. I purchased a medium americano and the bacon egg and cheese on an english muffin for a bit over 10$, the most I've paid so far for a medium Americano/breakfast sandwhich combo. First impression was how nice the inside was and the open layout. The cashier ducked in back before I could order but returned soon. Meanwhile the cook and the coffee lady? gave me a warm welcom. Cashier returned and seemed distracted but was nice. I didnt have to wait long for the drink or the food. The Americano was ok. Im comparing this one to Americanos I've had at Nino's Cafe, Sams and Coffe, and Starbucks. Sams being the best overall. The sandwhich was good, can't argue that. But it could be so much better, same as the Americano. I opened it up and I couldn't see any discerable seasoning, it might have been cooked into the egg but the egg tasted plain to me albeit perfectly cooked. There was no sauce or mayo either. Again, not a big deal and to be fair I didn't inquire either. I suppose I'm spoiled by the sauce Nino's puts on their sandwhiches. The bread and its toastedness was spot on. The crunch as I bit into it hit the spot. So the service was great, the price and the food were ok, and the ambiance was good. With so many options though, I don't see myself retuning here. read more

My husband, children and I came through the drive thru to get coffee and bagels this fall. There was an extremely sick girl working the drive thru window. Watching her making our coffee she coughed all over the bread cart, into her sleeve and towards clean dishes. Then of course touched and made our drinks. (Which of course we did not end up drinking as they were contaminated) the coughing was almost non- stop from the time we pulled up to the time we left. It was very concerning that an employee who serves food and drinks would come to work and in addition no one sent her home knowing she was sick and coughing uncontrollably. The sandwiches are very tasty and I made the mistake of ordering two for myself... well one was more then enough and I was eating the second one into the next day. What a gem! My mom and I came here after our post-Covid return to Gonzaga University and boy oh boy did we hit the jackpot! The staff was so friendly and the outdoor seating and garden was lovely. We both ordered the Turkey pepperoncini panini and they were just what we needed! We both got side salads and pickles and both were excellent as well! If you're good with a moody, impatient barely 20 something girl taking your order for a $10 sandwich, it's perfect. I had the grilled pesto chicken panini, which was not bad, but the chicken was a bit dry. This morning we visited the MS Bistro for first time. Bagel breakfast sandwich with ham was super good. All wheat bagel toasted and cheese creamy melted with nicely done scrambled egg. I usually love the Maple Street Bistro, it's my go to sit down coffee shop but today I was very displeased with the service. My friend and I came in 20 minutes before closing (yes, I know that's cutting it a bit close) but the guy who served us was not only very rude when taking our order (two drinks and a warmed up quiche) he threw a boxed quiche on to the table, scoffed and walked away. I have never been treated this at MSB... he then brought our drinks and my drink was made wrong so another worker who was amazing remade my drink and apologized. Don't know if he was having a bad day or something.... but you never treat a customer that way. read more

Came here for brunch to try out the place. It's pretty busy for Sunday but there was no line when we got inside. The servers are nice. I was looking forward to getting a croissant but I must have come in too late because there was none left :(. Anyway my husband and I ordered a chai latte, chicken pecan salad, pesto pasta, and bacon quiche. The latte tasted great :). Everything about Maple Street Bistro is PHENOMENAL. First off, the place is so welcoming, cutely decorated, and extremely clean. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and truly put a smile on your face. Now the food...O M G seriously the best latte and panini I've ever had. Went back 2 days later (couldn't stay away) and had an amazing tropical smoothie (must try!) and chicken wrap. If you're from out of town, you gotta make time to swing by and get some food to go! This place is a breath of fresh air in an area of town with strip malls and heavy traffic. It's a great place to slow down, relax, and chat with friends while enjoying a nice caffeinated drink and amazing pastry.
