Coincidentally, my family was in Seattle the same time I was. My parents wanted to get together for dinner and suggested Margaux because their menu was decently priced. It was Tuesday, January 19th and we met up for dinner. I made a same day reservation for 8 through OpenTable at 6:30pm. Margaux has a Dinner Special: 3 Course Prix Fixe ($35). It comes with choice of a Starter, Entrée, and Dessert. Four people in our party took part in the prix fixe menu. Starters: *Caesar Salad: House-made dressing, garlic croutons, Parmesan tuile *Soup Du Jour: Prepared fresh daily I tried the caesar. It was dressed well and had good flavor. I didn't taste the parmesan tuile, but the roommate said it was stale. Three people ordered the caesar and one ordered the soup. I can't remember what the soup was, but it was green and creamy. Entrées *Grilled Northwest Salmon: Sweet corn polenta, escarole, tomato-thyme confit *Maple-Brined Pork Chop: Braised Swiss chard, twice baked Yukon potato, pear-thyme coulis Two people ordered the pork and two the salmon. The pork was a touch dry, but good for a prix fixe menu. The chard was beet greens which the roommate didn't like, but I didn't mind them. (He hates beets, but so do I.) The salmon was nicely cooked, but I think that was because my fam ordered it medium rare. Otherwise, it would have been overcooked. They also offer the Grilled Vegetable Farfalle: Grilled seasonal vegetables, mushrooms, roasted tomato cream, beet crisp, Feta, pesto as a choice of an entree, but no one in our party ordered it. Desserts: *Crème Brûlée: Silky vanilla bean cream with a crispy caramelized sugar crust *Apple Tarte: Tatin Baked Granny Smith apple, puff pastry, cinnamon ice cream, caramel We got 3 brulees and one tart. The brulee was slightly under as I like my brulee a little firmer. But it had a nice sugary crust, which I adored. I'm not a huge fan of apple tarts, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. We were celebrating my aunt's anniversary, so they also gave us Profiteroles. Normally $7, but this was complimentary since we were celebrating an anniversary. Regular Menu: *Salt and Pepper Calamari: Sriracha aioli, seasonal greens ($10) *Pacific Razor Clam Chowder: Brioche crouton (Bowl $8) *French Onion: Onion, sherry, crostini, Gruyère (Bowl $8) *Grilled Rib Eye Steak: Fourteen-ounce rib eye steak, bleu cheese thyme butter, snow peas, ale-battered onion rings ($38) The rest of us ordered from the regular dinner menu. I had a piece of the calamari. The batter was light and crunchy and the calamari tender. I liked the onion soup. Full of beefy flavor and ooey gooey cheese. Some found it a bit salty, but I didn't mind it. I got the ribeye rare. It was super thin, so cooked as close to rare as you can get. But I question whether or not it was 14oz. Maybe that was the case with the bone before it was cooked? Special Entree: *Steamed Alaskan Crab Legs: Farfelle pasta & cheese with a bacon onion crust, grilled green beans ($32) Two people in our party got the crab legs. I believe it was snow crab. Good amount of legs. I got a decent amount of meat. I'd skip the pasta as it was super oily and fatty. The green beans were good and retained a nice crunch. Drinks: *Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon - Columbia Valley, Washington, 2010 ($44) *Coffee ($4) x2 *Lemonade ($3) Of course, what's dinner without drinks?! About 5 of us shared the bottle of wine. Enough for a glass each. I didn't try the coffee, but my dad said it was super weak. Margaux offers complimentary parking, but you have to go to the parking lot of the hotel on 4th Street. So head there instead if you want to take advantage of the free parking. The roommate and I made the mistake of going to the restaurant first. Due to all the one way streets, it took a while to circle back to the hotel lot on 4th. I'm guessing due to the size of our party, they added an automatic 20% gratuity. More than the usual 18% I'm used to, but still not that bad in the end. It ended up being $66. Okay food at pretty good prices. Less than $420 for 8 people after tax and tip. This was an odd experience. First, the service was odd. It was like we were being waited on by a child - with no memory. The male server welcomed us five times (really). He hovered. It was awkward - and we were the only ones in the restaurant. He said he'd bring bread (three times) and never did. I did observe him go over and pick a loaf of bread out of a basket (twice), then put it back. He didn't use gloves, though I saw another male server put a rubber glove on one hand to pick up a loaf and cut it. I finally reminded him he said he'd bring bread. He said, "Oh, yeah." I'm allergic to dairy. We wanted to do the 3 course meal. Both salad choices had cheese. I asked if they could leave off the cheese on one. He had to go check (really? - just leave it off). When he finally brought my salad - he left off everything; it was a plate of lettuce. Not even dressing - and we agreed a vinaigrette would work for me. I had to ask him to bring it. This was a two person fail: The servicer and the chef. Why would a chef let just a plate of lettuce out of the kitchen? The food wasn't memorable. There was no one in the place. Expensive, not worth it. This place thinks it's a high end restaurant, it's not. You'll find much better in this neighborhood. read more

This is the restaurant attached to the Warwick Hotel Seattle. As far as I could tell from reading the dinner menu, as well as dining there for breakfast and passing through during "Happy Hour" (4pm-7pm), the prices were not cheap. While I was being reimbursed since I was out there on business, I still felt as if the prices being charged for any given meal was a little high. I ate breakfast here -- eggs benedict ($16) with a pot of English Breakfast tea ($4). Overpriced at the very least, the portion sizes weren't amazing, but weren't terrible either. The pot of tea was tiny, and refills aren't free -- so really, I just drank water for the majority of my meal. Great use of $4. The beer selection for their 4pm-7pm happy hour wasn't great. As far as I could tell they had three choices, and all of them were not on my radar of "worthy of drinking during happy hour". Further, the bar space is extremely limited - I'd have to sit at a table to get served anything. While I don't mind dining or drinking alone, it's definitely an awkward environment when everyone else around you is dining or drinking with other people in their party. Since I had to eat here, I won't complain too much, but not being able to use the courtesy discount or coupon from the hotel was definitely a frustration -- I had to use them during lunch/dinner, and who wants to eat here when you have so many other better options in SEATTLE? Just offer the discount during breakfast - I had nowhere close by to go anyway, guys, what gives? I probably won't return, just because of how expensive the food was, but I guess it gets 3/5 for the service (decently fast), the quality & presentation of the food, and the atmosphere and location (convenience, I guess, is key, but it sucks that the hotel didn't have any kind of complimentary breakfast). read more

Came here for the SRW lunch offerings with a friend, she made reservations but it definitely wasnt needed as it was pretty empty in there. Only a few tables were taken so it wasnt busy at all. Located on the corner of 4th & Lenora, across the street from Cinerama. Set 2 course lunch menu for $15. My friend started off with a Caesar Salad, it looked like the typical Caesar, seemed like she liked it and had no issues with it. I opted for the Zucchini Griddle Cakes, it had some nice feta cheese, some fennel, tomatoes on top of the griddle cakes. The griddle cakes were pretty good, nice & thin with the zucchini inside. Defitely a savory pancake. I liked it very much and it was a good starter. As for our mains, my friend got the bacon crusted shrimp mac & cheese ball/patty. Came with 3 patties and served with a roasted pepper sauce and english peas sprinkled about on her plate. She was kind enough to share one with me and it was very tasty! Nice & crusty on the outside of the patty, mac & cheese inside was cheesy with lil shrimps all in there too. It was quite good! I decided to get the mushroom linguini, a bunch of mushrooms with a light cream sauce. Glad the sauce wasnt too thick or heavy or I would be sleeping under my desk. Pasta was cooked nicely, plenty of mushrooms on the dish, and some shaved parmesan on top and I proceeded to mow it down! Overall, the food and service was good, no issues. Its connected to the Warwick Hotel so it feels like a hotel restaurant. 3 Stars and worth every one. Certainly the staff are excellent; attentive, knowledgable, and happy to help. Both staff members who served our party of four on a slow Sunday evening were professional and ready to engage. The prix-fixe menu was quite nice, $35 gets you appetizer, entree, dessert. My partner chose the house salad (Cesar), Salmon, and apple w cinnamon ice cream. I wanted the ribeye ($34), so no prix fixe for me. It came with an assortment of "ale battered" onion rings and scattering of quick-steamed sweet peas, which were tasty and sweet enough I suspect they were grown locally. The ribeye itself was a 12-13 oz cut, but quite flat, even thin (less than 3/4"), but it covered a lot of plate--like two hands with fingers overlapping. I've never seen a ribeye presented or cut this way before. Maybe it's a northwest thing? I dunno. My partner's salmon dish was good, and she finished most of it. Neither of us were transported with gustatory exercise, but it was if nothing else, "good." We could have done much worse, I suspect. This would have been a 4-star review but I ordered a Sazerac cocktail, which was disappointing to the point I didn't even want to engage the waiter about it. I switched to an Imperial IPA for dinner, and it was fine. One prix fixe salmon, ribeye, the cocktail, beer, and a glass of Chardonnay came to just north of $100 for the two of us. read more

I gotta give this place a solid three stars for the purpose it serves--it's a great place to come stall for time while you wait for a movie to start, or a table across the street, or wind down after music down the block. There's only so much happening here that's noteworthy on its own merits, but, hey, it's a hotel bar. They redecorated pretty intensively a few years ago, so it looks a lot less like a place to meet your mistress than it used to. It used to look like the most obvious place in town for a surreptitious affair. Now it's nearer the middle of the pack in that regard. You walk into an appealing dim room, with a low ceiling and wide array of tables. There's a decent lineup of spirits, wine, and beer, and service is always friendly and professional. You can almost always get a table. Prices are too high, but the convenient location makes that acceptable for occasional use. read more

My mom stayed in the hotel attached to this when she came for a visit to Seattle. The elevators advertised a dinner special so we decided to give it a go one night. The service was decent, but by no means remarkable. That's how the entire place is really....decent, but not remarkable. It's taken me a few months to write this for just that reason. The house salad to start was pretty good. The steak was mediocre. It was cooked well, but I could have made a tastier steak at home. The meal was not awful, but not memorable. If you're staying nearby or have a special, you may go here, but it's definitely not someplace I'd ever go out of my way to try. read more

There clam chowder is absolutely amazing. I'm a clam chowder snob as a New Englander so I like a nice thick chowder loaded with clam. This did it thick but not to heavy lots of potatoes and clams! Also the giant croton that comes on top makes this chowder really come together. read more

My Son brought his Auntie and I here to celebrate Mother's Day! It wasn't very busy and we had a lovely table at the window. We started off with the Caesar Salad and a cup of French Onion Soup. Both were very good and tasty. Then for the main entrees we ordered the Halibut and Rib Eye Steak which were both cook to perfection and seriously melted in your mouth. We were so stuffed but decided to get one dessert and all three of us share it: Profiteroles. They were also AMAZING. Our server was Brandy and I echo GREG C's comments that she was attentive and friendly and really new her stuff. She was BRILLIANT!!!!! A lovely and memorable evening was had by us all. Easily this was the worst tasting meal I've had in Seattle. The opening service of bread was not far above Wonder Bread. The crab cake was much more cake than crab. Very cakey and bland. The clam chowder was serviceable. But who can really screw up clam chowder? My dinner was lamb shank. Hearty portion but equally hardy blandness. The wine was maybe close to average. My date's Caesar salad was pathetic. There's really no other way to describe it. The lettuce was wilted badly. Her pork chop wasn't bad. Not to be outdone, the dessert, an apple tart, was more like dry crust with burnt topping with some bland ice cream. It was a Thursday night at 7:30pm and the restaurant was nearly empty. We've only had the pleasure of eating at the Margaux for breakfast. However, we only have great things to say after eating there 3 days in a row. The staff have been wonderful, engaging and friendly. We've enjoyed the bacon, waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, French toast, tea, chocolate milk and coffee. The staff were very accommodating and made an extra special effort to ensure the food was perfect. They brought my bacon out one morning and before I could process how I felt about its level of crispiness, our server decided it was overcooked and took it back. She then returned with a perfectly cooked plate of bacon. My son ordered chocolate milk and was presented with a perfectly made glass topped with whipped cream which he drank in short order. They only have one waffle iron, which never impacted us, but could make waffle production slow during busier times. I had a Living Social coupon for a four course meal, and I'm glad I got to try out this place. We started with the Crab Cake, and I really like it. It was probably the best crab cake I've had so far. Then I had the clam chowder, and it was pretty good. For my entrée, I ordered the Northwest Ciopinno, and it was good, not the best I've had, but still satisfying. For dessert, I had some pastry puffs with ice cream in between and drizzled with chocolate sauce. It was good, even though I don't like pastry puffs; didn't know they were going to be pastry puffs, because it had a French name on the menu. This place is located in the Warwick hotel. It was later in the evening so we stopped in for a drink and dessert only. We certainly didn't need a table so we sat at the bar for a quick visit. The bartender was so nice. Katya was attentive and friendly. She didn't have too many people sitting at her bar so service was good. They had creme brûlée on the dessert menu. I can't really say no to that. We split the dessert to appease both of our appetites. It was baked to perfection with the sugar top layer browned. I don't know why but I love breaking through the sugar layer to the creamy inside. It was tasty and put a smile on my face. If I were staying here again, yes I would stop in for my tasty treat. Our server was very helpful and friendly and has worked there for many years. I ordered the California benedict with grilled turkey and some ordered the oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar and milk. Going to a late show at Jazz Alley and I wanted something close. So obviously I turned to Yelp and found this place. The restaurant is part of the hotel, but don't let that stop you from trying it. Our waiter was very nice, but didn't seem to be on top of his game though that day. We had to wait a bit for a bottle of wine, I was told that security had to access the cellar however the Pinot Noir was at a perfect temperature when it arrived. Sorry for being a snob, but almost everyone serves the reds too warm. Food came out in decent time and was very good. I had the salmon which was prepared well although I would have left the good sized portion of tzatziki sauce off of it. My sister had the pork chop which was fantastic, but the best meal was my wife's lamb shank. Holy Moly this might be the best lamb I have had and might even beat my preparation. The food is good and the service was excellent. I had dinner with an quittance I met thru a mutual friend who was gracious to meet me for dinner when I was in town. The hotel and restaurant are trans friendly and the make you feel welcome. I have been there twice and they go out of there way to accommodate me. We selected the restaurant because I was staying in the hotel and had good food there in the past. My only disappointment is that the bar closes at 11:00pm unless they have a good crowd then they will stay a while longer. read more

We came during Restaurant Week, and I think the $28 for 3 courses was a fair price for what we got. Overall, we were satisfied with the meal, and the standouts were definitely the mushroom risotto and apple tarte. The prime rib was overly fatty for my taste, but my friend loved her pork belly. The crème brulee was also tasty (but really not more so than regular crème brulee), it was awesome because the portion was humongous. I wish I could go with 3 1/2 stars because even though the food was good, they were out of 2 of their beer choices and the service was somewhat slow. I love this place. Every time I go to Seattle we eat there. There are two places you can eat when you head inside. The restaurant side and the bar side. The food can be a bit creamy or heavy so be mindful of what you order in that respect. I have had the clam chowder there a few times and it was really good every time. they have fresh bread which goes perfect with it. and it can be on the sweet side but in a good way. the brûlée has been delicious every single time. The crunch of the topping is perfect. I have also had the ravioli and it was very good. But I shared it with someone because again it can be very creamy. When I visit during the winter months, I typically end up here once during my stay out of convenience. It is a serviceable restaurant and I have enjoyed the food I ordered here, but it is mediocre at best. If you're staying in the hotel and it is your only option due to time constraints, you'll be fine. If, however, you're not staying in the hotel, you really have better options. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would, but the app won't allow me to do so. This is by far the worst experience I have EVER had at a restaurant. The place was probably 10% full and the service was awful. Genuinely so terrible. Had to go up to the bar to get a Corona I ordered from my waitress 15 minutes ago. Waited at my table for 15 minutes before our server helped us OR anyone even greeted us. The menu was completely different from the one online. While we are waiting for our checks, the waitress is sitting in a booth sipping on a drink gossiping with her coworkers. Before eating, she asked if we were splitting checks at the beginning and then was appalled when we asked for our 4 split checks at the end. She said "I don't know how to do that" and tried to convince us to give her 4 cards to evenly split the bill when several people didn't even eat.. I proceeded to take 4 pieces of paper and split the checks MYSELF to make it easier for her mind to comprehend. I am a waitress myself, and would never leave a review on a restaurant. We ended up being here for nearly 3 hours, thank god we didn't have anywhere to be. This, I felt obligated to in order to warn people who may be thinking about going here. Pretty basic hotel dive into the sea. We had happy hour here on our first day. It was small plate tapas and some cocktails and wine. I order a trio of buffalo wings, chilli sauce tossed calamari and pork sliders. I started from the bottom up of this three tier rack. The calamari - although crispy - was cold. Not warm, but cold. I told the waiter and he said they've been sitting out for a while as they remake pretty much everything. The dinner service started at 5pm while happy hour started at 4pm. The buffalo wings - came in five pieces and some celery sticks - equally cold, but some what better. The pork sliders were pretty bland. We had a complimentary continental breakfast from the hotel. So, my first time ever in Seattle...My ex boyfriend and soon to be husband it is the most amazing man I've ever met in my life and took me on a spontaneous date to a "city that never sleeps" lmao. Anyway, first time here, got an amazing room on the 12th floor with this restaurant inside. For one, i've never been inside of a restaurant this fancy let alone had food is exceptional by a cook named Alfredo Sanchez. Low and behold, i got the mushroom Alfredo Parmesan Creme sautéed chicken fettuccine. I ate it too fast even get a picture however we managed to get a picture of his plate of the fish and chips which oh my goodness I don't know how these fries are now so exceptional but they are fire! Not to mention, starters, yeah, we had this clam chowder.....giiirrrrlllls.... it was dank as ****. And the server, I did not catch his name, however, he was very exceptional and made my drink(s) was/were perfect because I am now sitting in the restaurant making a review in one of the bestest moods I've been in a long time. (Side note; I just found out his name....James.. hottie for sure! Also, there's only one chef working, and with limited staff, and during a pandemic, in the biggest city in the PNW.....
