Ordered a takeout because was craving pupusas. Great quality pupusas! Decent prices. Queso con frijoles was my fave.

I ordered two pupusas beans and cheese and a coke. Total was less than $10, it was made fresh, service could be a little better but the lady was working alone. She had to handle The cooking and the front

The boyfriend and I decided to try this new thing where we randomly pick a spot to eat without looking at yelp first. We saw this hole in the wall restaurant and decided to just walk in blindly not knowing what they serve. We asked the woman who worked there what was good to eat but there was a language barrier so we used google translate. She recommended the pupusa revueltas and the pasteles de pollo and we also placed an order for salmon. Everything tasted amazing and clean. The pasteles de pollo had a nice fry to it! We are both not a fan of beans but the beans were good! We would definitely go back again.

Look at that cheesy goodness! Queso y loroca pupusa

Delicious pupusas! I recently had a very disappointing street pupusa elsewhere and wanted to scratch that pupusa itch. So glad I came to Maria's! I had two reveulta and one loroca y queso and both were so yummy, freshly made. The cheese pull on the loroca pupusa was amazing. Like so good I did a little dance in my seat. Great value and pleasant service.

The only reason I'm putting three stars is because I had made an order online and apparently it doesn't go directly to the restaurant. So when I showed up for my food, it wasn't ready they hadn't answered the phone to receive my order and I had to wait an additional 40 minutes just for my food to be served to me. As far as the food, I got the jalapeño and cheese pupusa and the pork bean and cheese. I enjoyed it. I will return, but next time I will just place my order in person.

Pupusas were quality and delicious A very good deal for three of them. This place will satisfy

Two pupusas for $2.50 each. Super filling. Comes with cabbage and red sauce.

Food: I got the revuelta and chicharron pupusas. Both were great and full of cheese. The pickled cabbage and red sauce went well with the pupusas. Service: The waiters/waitresses don't speak much English so I recommend that you know what you want before you order. They're super friendly. I also recommend you call in your order because it can be a bit of a wait like 20 to 30 min. I waited 20 min for 2 pupusas for reference. I don't mind waiting for food, but you gotta be prepared if you're on your lunch break. Value: Cheap and filling. Worth it for 2.50 a pupusa! I'd come again. Parking: Street parking is available.

    Yummy pupusas!

As much as I love the food here, they rarely answer the phone and are constantly closing early. Boo, get it together.

We came a couple of months ago and had their loaded yucca fries with carne asada as well as some pupusas. The meat on our fries felt really low quality-- the best way I could describe it was it tasting like frozen hamburger meat-- and gave us indigestion for the rest of the night, which was really disappointing to experience. Today we unfortunately experienced some really rude service. My bf ordered a plain water and we were given a fresco ensalada (no big deal, he likes it) We don't eat pork and ordered fried yucca on its own, just yucca frita. We were given a plate of yucca con chicharron :( I told the service we just ordered yucca frita and we were told that we did not specify that for her. I explained that we don't eat pork so we sent it back and were met with a displeasing look. I said we didn't want to yucca anymore since we had a lot of food already and she said "the kitchen already made it." So I said it was fine but just the yucca this time and she came back with the same exact plate just without the chicharron-- no visible plate change. Needless to say for the price, decline in food quality, and rude service, it's not worth coming back. At least not for a while.

I just moved back to LA and tried this place for the first time yesterday. The food was genuinely…read morereally good -- flavorful, comforting, and the pupusas immediately stood out. I enjoyed it so much that I came back again today after work specifically because I was craving them. The food once again did not disappoint. The servers I interacted with were kind and pleasant. However, today's experience left a sour note. When I walked in, I was the only customer in the restaurant. Every table was empty. I asked if I could sit at the corner table with the couch, and the man I spoke to made a face and told me it was only for groups. To be clear -- there were no other customers. Zero. So the response felt unnecessary and dismissive. After asking the servers, I found out that the man I spoke to is actually the owner. That made it more disappointing. Owners set the tone for their establishment, and hospitality should start at the top. There's no reason for a paying customer to feel brushed off -- especially when the restaurant is empty. Good food can bring people in, but good service is what makes them come back. I'll likely return because the pupusas are honestly that good, but I do hope there's more awareness about how guests are treated. Without customers choosing to spend their money there, no business survives -- no matter how great the food is.

We started with the ensalada, which was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. For pupusas, we ordered the revueltas, loroco con queso, and frijol con queso. We tried both corn and rice dough, and honestly, both were delicious. My personal favorite was the frijol con queso with the rice dough- so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The yuca frita was exactly how it should be: crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicharrón was cooked perfectly as well, and the homemade green salsa that the sweet lady helping us made was the perfect addition. She was so kind, welcoming, and always had a friendly smile, which made the experience even better. Another thing that really stood out was how clean the restaurant is. It's spacious, with plenty of seating whether you're coming with a large group, your family, or just stopping by for a meal on your own. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. Next time we're bringing my Salvadoran in-laws- I have a feeling this place will get their authenticity approval too! Spanish!

Service was quick, there is a big dining room with plenty of seating in case you want to dine in, looked very clean. Massive pupusas with a lot of filling, not one of those restaurants that give you nothing but masa, these pupusas were legit. They come with Curtido and the usual salsa roja. So much flavor packed into these things, these are some of the best pupusas I've ever had, good size and they do not cheap us out on filling. Definitely try em if you're in the area! I've actually traveled to El Salvador before, so I've had the opportunity to experience the food there firsthand. Since coming back, I really haven't found many places that gave me that same authentic taste and feeling--until coming here. Everything we tried was amazing. The pupusas, beans, plantains, meats, and all the traditional flavors were on point. You can tell the food is prepared with that real homemade Salvadorian style. If you've been to El Salvador and know what authentic Salvadorian food is supposed to taste like, this place will bring back some memories.
