I've been to Marie's a few times, meeting up with friends. The food as typically been OK and the service good. That was true until last Monday. I made the mistake of ordering the 'Shrimp Scampi with Pasta" which was the worst. The angel hair pasta was over cooked to the point that it was the size of spaghetti. The modest amount of shrimp was clearly of the precooked variety that has simply been warmed up. And as for the sauce and spices, well there really wasn't any. I've have said something to our waitress but she was no where to be found. And about the service. After taking our orders, the waitress vanished for the most part. When she did return, she presented us were our checks - not bothering to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. Still, we did manage to request the coffee before she vanished for another 10 minutes or so. At that point, we pointed out that we were still waiting for the coffee. A while later, we got our coffee and NEW, increased checks. Fortunately, Wadsworth has plenty of other restaurants - as Marie's won't be on our list of places to visit. read more

Spent $43.00 on Carry Out Friday 1-5-2017 Bought Sausage Sandwich for dinner Friday Night, it was still pinkish, Microwaved it a little longer. Was still tasty. Saturday night sometime after Midnight I heated up the Meatball Sandwich, ate part of it, then found a long black hair in it. Sunday I called Maris's to inform the manager, and ask for my money back on the 1 sandwich, Lora who answered the phone was very rude, and said the managers were too busy to talk to me. I will never go back there. Guess they should change the name to the hairy meatball. read more

My husband grew up in Wadsworth and Marie's pizza was his absolute favorite. Sixteen years later, we live in Saint Louis, MO, and Marie's is still his - and now our - favorite! Every time his parents come to visit, they bring at least two of Marie's pizzas with them. After being told that the pizzas ordered would be taken on a 10-hour road trip to adoring fans four states away, the good people at Marie's have taken to specially preparing our frozen pies half-baked, but cut, so that when we finish the baking process at home, they're as close to the restaurant experience as possible. The one time I was fortunate enough to actually step foot in the restaurant, our then four-year-old son decided to fall asleep at the table. Quickly and pleasantly the staff changed our entire order from dine-in to take-out. Of course, all food eaten back at my in-laws home was amazing, even my son's who had his reheated the next day. Now, most Saint Louis locals will boast about toasted ravioli and Imo's pizza, but at our house, Marie's pizza in Wadsworth remains king. read more

Though we were told a 15 minute wait, it was actually just five minutes. For a Saturday, late afternoon, it was fantastic. The place was packed and we got a booth inside (they have outside seating too) and the waitress was immediately there for our drink orders. As we were only there for pizza, our wait was as you would have expected, about 15 minutes. The pizza was perfect, half pepperoni, half plain. The crust wasn't too thick or doughy and the sauce and cheese were at the correct amounts. Not messy, piping hot and delicious. I would have given a perfect score if the waitress had come by more often to ask if we wanted any more refills on our drinks. Overall, a very pleasant experience! read more

We ordered a pizza, chicken parm with spaghetti, and a lasagna dinner. The food was awesome. The service was a little slow but the food was definitely worth the wait. The salad was a very good portion size as was the bread that was served with a dipping sauce of marinara. This is my second time here and I will be returning again. Very highly recommend. read more

Came here recently with a party of 6, 2 children included. It was a Saturday and crowded, as expected. Our server was excellent, no complaints there. Our problem, however, was the food. My husband ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp. It had a large, coarse black hair right on top. We got the attention of a nearby server, who quickly got our server to our table. She informed us, after seeing the hair, that this was the SECOND time that night that a hair exactly like that found it's way into someone's food, and she knew who it belonged to as well! My husband manages a restaurant near wadsworth so as we were leaving he asked to speak to a manager. The kitchen at Marie's is open to the lobby so you can see the employees making the food. None of the kitchen workers had hair nets on. Not a single one. That is a health code violation. When my husband brought that to the manager's attention, he shrugged it off and said they never get nailed by the health inspector for that. When we got home I did some digging on Marie's. Health inspections results and code violations are open to the public. Marie's hasn't had an inspection since 2012. They had minor food violations for having dirty work stations, keeping raw food where it could contaminate other food items, easy to fix things. If the people in the kitchen won't comply to health codes by something as simple as wearing a hair net, and the management obviously doesn't care if they do, then what else are they not doing? They comped the salad, but we will not be going back there again and I will let everyone who asks me know that this is why. read more

What a place!!!!!! We are about 45-50 minutes away from Marie's (South), but the trip didn't bother us because we knew what we would find! Wow, what a restaurant! If you can't find something, which delights your taste, you should be at home eating crackers and drinking water. Ordered chicken wings and they were the smallest I have ever seen. Pizza was undercooked and very expensive. I had the pasta medley the next time I visited and it was bland in flavor with no meat. The sauce tasted like plain crushed tomatoes. Stuffed shells and ravioli were stuffed with flavorless cheeses. I will stay at home and have anything else before I visit this place again. If pricey no flavor Italian food is what you want this is your place. read more

Will never go again I put my plates on a table behind me, another severs table she told me I quote "never do that again" she said this is her table not my servers table she gets paid to wait on this table not mine. I asked to speak to the manager she told me she is the manager, I asked for another manager she told me she will get her cousin. He didn't care about how rude she was and she kept arguing with me about what she said to me, interrupting me. I have now found out her name is crystal and she said I came in there to start a fight with her. I don't even know her not sure why she would say that, thinking trying to turn this around on me. Marie's food is terrible! A pizza place I once liked. But the quality of food is so bad now. I would not recommend it my enemies! It's always been over priced but the food was good.Tonight we order a large 3 topping pizza and a order of spaghetti. The pizza was burnt (black on the bottom) and spaghetti was cold and the sauce was runny. I called and complained. The manager (Vinny) Said bring the the food back in and they will refund me. I told him the pizza was burnt. He said ya I have a new cook. Most good mangers would say I'll get your next pizza. Not this idiot. So I'm bring back the food and never going back again! read more

What ever happened to the old Marie's food? They certainly didn't bring it with them to Smokerise drive! Absolute worse "Italian" food I've ever tried. One piece of tasteless fried calamari and two bites of shrimp scampi made me violently ill for the evening. The manager actually had the nerve to charge me $5.99 for a half eaten side salad. The waitress was snarky when I returned my entree of over cooked pasta and shrimp drowning in margarine. I just can home from there and i will never go back. There was a waitress there that said her family owned it and was screaming at a customer for putting her dirty dish on a table that was already had dirty dishes in it. She stated she doesn't get paid to clean up other servers dishes. While complaining to the manager he stuck up for the screaming waitress. Found out he was her cousin. All fine and dandy to have a family owned restaurant but you may want to make sure your family had some class and knows how to treat a customer. This is my favorite local pizza place. If you go get the pizza. Great crust, lots of toppings (love the chunk sausage instead of ground), but for me I love their sauce. The sauce tasted like something my mother would make rather than something from a can. Also love the fried chicken and the cinnamon sticks/dessert pizza. We dined here on Monday with relatives who live in the area. My wife chose a small pizza with pepperoni and green peppers while I opted for the meat ravioli (after a long perusal of the menu). I knew that I didn't want pizza because I could see the tunnel oven when we came in the door. (Pizza should be cooked in a real oven, on the hearth, without an intervening layer of the conveyor AND a pizza pan.) I tasted my wife's pizza and found the crust to be underdone and slightly soggy on top. The pepperoni was flavorful but I could discern no difference between the pizza sauce and the marinara on my ravioli. I admit to being a pizza snob, but given a choice, I would not choose Marie's. My ravioli were obviously commercially made. The pasta was too thick, by half. Though cooked properly, the filling was bland, I wouldn't know if it was meat or soy protein. The marinara sauce is very sweet and was improved only with a judicious application of crushed red pepper. From the menu it is apparent that Marie's uses only one red sauce for everything they make that calls for red sauce. I tasted the sausage and it, too, was kind of bland, even for 'sweet' Italian sausage, though it was well grilled and not too fatty. They are obviously successful and this review won't change a thing about that, but, to someone who is Italian, cooks Italian, and eats Italian (a lot) I wouldn't go back. read more

I love this place. Service can be slow sometimes, but I love their pasta dinners. I crave the sauce, and the salads that come with the meals are huge and delicious. The bread is soft and warm. I wish I could eat here all the time, but I moved across the country. Every time I come home, I eat here. Best pizza in Ohio?! I think so :). Chicago has their deep dish and Ohio has Marie's! I've been told if you order towards the end of the night when it's slower, they put extra care into your pizza. I believe that is true. They always taste so much better then. It is still fantastic when it's busy- you can just taste a little extra love when it's slower. They also have fantastic jojos. I'd like to say that I had good food and service. Maybe even bad food or service. I had no service. Full restaurant, sign on the door said they close at 10. At 9:10 we walked in and were told they were closed. When I mentioned the time on the door, I was told "winter hours." Let's be realistic: those were lazy hours. I guess my desire to go to a place that simply turns us away has its own "winter hours!" Maybe it's hibernation, or maybe Marie's is dead to me, but they've seen the last of me. We were in Wadsworth for a wrestling tournament. It is a good pizza. I'm a traditionalist so I had pepperoni and mushroom. The sauce looks and tastes like it was made from scratch. The crust was crispy on the bottom and a bit doughy on the top. I read that if you don't like it that way you should order your pizza well done. I can see that but I thought it was delicious. It also had a great blend of cheeses. We arrived about 8 o'clock at night on a Saturday and we were expecting a very long wait. We ate our pizza and were out the door in 40 minutes from the time we arrived. My wife had the Italian wedding soup and she loved it. She said it was made from scratch. The service was friendly and quick. It was really good pizza and I would definitely stop again. read more

Marie's is probably the worst pizza place I've ever been to. The rest of my family love it and rave about it but every time I've been there I get the same shit. The last time I visited was two years ago, I went with my brother and uncle. We waited to be seated for ten minutes, the place wasn't all that busy and they had a decent amount on staff but they were apparently too incompetent to find an empty table. When we did sit we ordered drinks, this was when the food experience first started off terrible. My soda was flat, so I asked the waitress for a refill. I got it, but it took several minutes, again not that busy. Our pizza took almost half an hour to cook and bring out, and it SUCKED. The sauce had tomato chunks in it, which I hate more than anything on a pizza. It tasted like it had been sitting in the window for a little while because it wasn't that warm. The crust seemed kind of stale, it was bland with little taste and had nothing at all to distinguish itself from other pizza chains. Other little things were the table and chairs were greasy and sticky and the staff seemed miserable to be there. This is definitely the most overrated pizza joint I can of. Do yourself a favor and stay at home and order dominoes or something else. read more

I have lived in Wadsworth for a number of years and gone to Marie's plenty. We've ordered in, ordered out, and had the catering for family functions. Their food is decent be they screw up orders often and really just don't care. One of our large orders from the catering menu was screwed up and I had to call 3 times to finally get someone to talk to. When I did talk to them they really have the attitude that they are busy enough and they don't care! Very disappointing. After another incident last week I have finally convinced my wife that we will take our hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Had dinner there about a week ago. Service was extremely slow and poor from our server. When the food came out runners didn't even know what pizza was what. Pizza was tasty but poor service will probably preclude me from returning as management didn't seem to care. It is really a shame ....the owner should quit hiring family and stress customer service.
