What a s#!$ show, the service department is so poorly run. Lack of follow-up, missed deadlines and I am the one that has to continue to call for status updates. I had a feeling this would be the experience when checking in the car... had to track down someone to help. Was told to use self checking form because they were busy. What was supposed to be a 1 day service ended up being 3 because they underestimated the time and did not have the parts (even though I asked prior if they had all the parts). I also asked about paint issue which they said didn't get covered (not sure they even submitted claim). Stay away if you can. Will be driving down to Towne Ford in Redwood City and will be avoiding Marin Ford going forward. read more

I purchased a car from Marin County Ford in March of 2022. The car was used and so I had them run a Carfax for me. Well, the Carfax that was provided to me did not disclose all the mechanical issues that the car had with the previous owner. All that was listed were oil changes and tire rotations etc... So I was fooled in to believing the car was a good condition lease return. Since driving the car off the lot, I have had nothing but issue after issue. After filing a lemon claim with Ford, turns out this car was part of a buy back program in 2020 because it was faulty, it was NOT a lease return. Marin County Ford did not disclose any of this to me and I only recently saw all the mechanical issues and transmission issues, that the previous owner had, on an ACCURATE Carfax. Do not buy from them. They are crooks!!! The finance manager also pressed me into purchasing the extended warranty on the car, which I did. The extended warranty was a total waste of money. I have had to pay for every other issue out of pocket for this car. read more

This Ford dealership really needs an overhaul on their customer service. I recently called to schedule a service repair for a recall notice that we received in the mail from Ford. The service rep said that he needed to start up his computer and give me a call back. He took down my information, but I never received a call back. We now have to call the Petaluma dealership to have it done there, as we've had to do in the past because of similar experiences at the Novato location. Since taking possession of the car, the passenger side has electrical issues. Took it into the service department. The gentleman looked at it and said they would fix it. Came back several days later and nothing. Then the manager of the service department tells me he is not sure that the door should open at the touch, but bring it back in. Took it on a trip and now the seat belt warning light does not go on unless I am under 5 mph. The rear gate does not always respond to the sensor. The passenger door does not open when you put your hand to it. Waiting to see what they do on Monday. They are supposed to know what needs to be done. My car was covered by their Car Doc and when I took it in they broke my wheel lock and didn't do the service or replaced the lock. Then they didn't change the oil like they said. Finally I get a flat and couldn't change the tire because they broke the key lock and I called Luis and let messages and they never returned my calls. Legit the worst service dept. Like I'd never buy a ford vehicle cause of this place. My work van has problems. They couldn't fix last time I was there. They said i had to much weight. Ok, I removed most of the stuff still doing the same thing. Finally schedule it to bring it in and it's almost 2 weeks to get it in. I tell them exactly what's going on. I come to drop it off and he says he needs it for 2 weeks. I've legit been waiting and if I knew they needed it for 2 weeks I could've planned a rental. But no one said anything until I'm ready to drop it off. You'd think this was the first time they've done this. Like look at the van and see what's wrong and they were can plan to have it for that long. I work out of my van I have all my tools and parts in there I can't just leave it for 2 weeks. I'd never buy ford just because of my experience at this service dept. I wish my company would buy different manufacturer. read more

I recently had an excellent experience at Marin County Ford, Novato. It was 11.00 am Friday, Labor Day weekend and I was short of time. I had one hour. Tsoai (Soey) greeted me and took a look over my 2018 Ford Explorer Platinum as I explained I was considering getting into the new ST (Sports Technology) version. He then realized why I would want to give up the beautiful and very comfortable Platinum. We went on a quick test drive got back to the dealership and in exactly 62 minutes we were gone having paid the deposit, paperwork being sent by DocuSign and they would deliver the new car that afternoon. Tsoai arrived at our home by 3.30 pm with our brand spanking new Ford Explorer ST. What a fabulously impressive experience. Probably why, between my wife and I, this was our sixth or seventh purchase from Marin County Ford. Thank you all. And thank you Tsoai. Now the second part of this review is about the care itself! WOWEE! This Ford ST is a monster! (Although a very stylish and understated one) Not only does it look really cool, the almost matt grey, sleek angles, black trimmings, simple ST marking on the tailgate and the black front grill, and the red brake calipers standing out through the polished black alloys. The interior is smart, sophisticated, stacked full of technology and leather. Then press the start button, turn the dial, into drive (gone is the knob on the consul surprisingly creating a sense of spaciousness and declutter) and then take off! Having owned my share of what some would class as luxury cars including a Range Rover HSE, Audi S8, a BMW M5, this is by far the best car that I have ever owned. Comfort, stylish, sense of presence yet totally under the radar, and with its 400 horsepower engine capable of 0-60 mph in a smidgen over 5 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph! WOWZERS! I bought a 2016 Ford Escape at Marin County Ford. Not only is it retaining its value, I've been offered to sell it for more than I paid for it. Unfortunately, I don't service my car at MCF because I need to use coupons. Today, I came in for a recall repair. Not only is it easy to make an appointment, when I arrived the people who work at MCF are wonderful. Everything is easy. I ran late, so not only were they nice about it, they are going out of their way to pick up my slack so I'm not late to my next appointment. They are so nice and friendly and accommodating, they are worth the price. It feels good being in the waiting room listening to these nice people dealing with the customers. It does take weeks to get in for an appointment, but once you are here, they're great! The repairs? I don't know because my car has never had a problem. The recall fix was optional. I highly recommend this place mostly because the people are so darn nice. And because I have a great car that doesn't break down. read more

Do not buy Cardoc and expect to have anything resolved if the vendor that services your car makes a big mistake. I took my car for an oil change to one of their vendors and they left a wrench inside the engine somehow and told me it was fine when I asked them to check it out. Had to bring it back three times. Ford did nothing to take responsibility for the vendors issues and lies. Ford then called me and said they would arrange any servicing needs for my car and that they would pick up the car and return it. Then when I call in for the first one after this happened I'm told they never said that. I clarified on the initial phone call whether they meant they would pick my car up and leave the rental. He said yes. Today that is not the case, and they are offering to schedule service and a car transport for me instead. How does that help? It's just as fast for me to pick up the phone and schedule it myself. This is my fourth Ford as an adult and now the last one. I am also unfortunately having issues with the 2020 car - electrical issues galore. The dash cam works in reverse half the time. The driving modes randomly shut down. Fun!!! read more

We are (or should say used to be) a fleet customer of another Ford dealership and have purchased a number of cars and trucks from them over the years. When it came to purchasing a new F-150, in the middle of the micro-chip shortage (orders were 26 weeks out), they really stepped up their game. Adam Brown and John Preston were professional and worked the dealer network until they found the perfect truck for us and worked with me to make the deal. They will see more of our fleet business. For us, it's all about relationships. Our other dealer was our friend when they needed us but when we needed them...crickets. The door was wide open for MCF and they walked in. I purchased the truck over a few emails and texts and arranged to pay for the truck. Honestly dreaded having to come here for an oil change. Only place my warranty is compatible with otherwise I would never return. So glad I'm moving out of state so I never have to come here again. The staff are rude and their time management is poor. And if you're a female, goodluck getting someone to help you without basically forcing them to assist you. They literally ignore you and will continue talking about their plans for the day like you're not standing there waiting to check in or out. I wouldn't bother writing a review if this wasn't the 4th time they consistently had the same poor attitude and disrespectful customer service.
