So a bit of a funny story. I came looking for Mariscos Jalisco having had my sights on it since I…read morewatched the Jonathan Gold documentary shortly after moving to LA. I had the address on my car navigation but as I drove up to the block I noticed the 4 Vientos truck and wrongly assumed this was Jalisco. So I turned it and promptly ordered at the truck. I did briefly question why the signage was different but the long queues and the delicious looking morsels that everyone around me were eating made me assume once again that I was at the right place. In my ignorance, I did not know that this entire stretch of Olympic Blvd was home to many such mariscos and taco trucks. In any case, I ordered. I ate. I was plenty satisfied and more than impressed and it wasn't until after I got home and did more research that I realized I was at the 4 Vientos truck. Well, no harm done. It just meant I needed to go back for the Jalisco truck very soon. Fresh seafood! Excellent tostadas. You can't go wrong!

The avocado and salsa on top also added creaminess and freshness. It wasn't as flavorful compared to a similar taco from the nearby Mariscos Jalisco, but I did enjoy the raw seafood and fresh flavors. The spot is a food truck with no areas to sit (not sure of there was). Cash only I believe as well. A great spot, but I think I would still opt for Mariscos Jalisco.

Social media brought me here and I'm unsure if I would come back again due to personal experience. If a friend wants to come by I wouldn't object to it but I wouldn't make my way out here on my own. Food was good but no wow factor, skip to the bottom for food description. My fluently Spanish speaking friend called in the order to avoid us waiting too long. I went to pick it up with different friend ( we both don't speak Spanish..). We told the staff that we called in the order she went in and grabbed the receipt $74.25 total. I handed her $84.25 she went inside with our money while we waited. She came back out with the box of food neatly packed, receipt taped to box didn't have any dollar amount only the list of what was ordered. I asked her "my change? my money" she looked at me stunned.. and she said "oh your change..." She came back out with five $1 bills and a single $5 bill. She had in one hand my receipt and $1 plus a $5 bill on top of the receipt covering, totaling $6 while she was handing me that she said "seis dinero." I kept telling her "no I need $10.. I gave you $84.25.." She still said "yes $6." One hand had $6 with my receipt, other hand the $4. I pulled my calculator out and typed in 84.25 to show her. She said "yes $10" and handed me all the bills.. I'm not sure what was miscommunicated or what was misunderstood.. but there was no reason for her to hold the other $4 in her other hand if she wanted to give me back a total of $10 in change. I later see on the printed receipt that whoever manned the registered entered only $80.25 Tostada Aguachile Verde -good, flavorful and fresh. Al Gobernador (tacos)- Sinaloa type of shrimp tacos. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and not overly cooked. Shrimp was super flavorful paired with chopped onions and bell peppers. My favorite out of the things we tried. This might be a better option if you personally don't really like tortilla that's just heated up and not fried. Ensenada Camaron (tacos)- shrimp was a bit overcooked under the batter. Batter was light and fluffy. Didn't personally like the tortilla it's served on. Dorados (tacos)- seems to be their signature dish, deep fried shrimp tacos. Shell was crispy and shrimp inside is well seasoned and doesn't come out overcooked. Good but not wow. Ensenada Pescado (tacos)- fish was buttery and flakey, batter was light and fluffy. Also didn't like the tortillas it's served on.

The catfish to me is dusted with seasonings. I like a little more, but that's my pallet, but this is still really good. I will say this time the catfish fillets were very, very thin! The coleslaw vinegar base ? not my style, doesn't mean it's not good -not my style. the french fries are seasoned shoestrings. / not my style. I love crinkle cut with seasoning, salt / you like an apple. I like an orange it just is what This place is literally around the block from where I live and I just wish I would eat catfish more. I'm trying not to, but I noticed they've got some beautiful grilled fish up there so I may be going back to checking that out as I try to eat low-carb!

Fried foods uses corn meal breading for super light super crispy crust. Cole slaw is lightly seasoned dresses with a sweet vinegar barley any mayo. The fried rice that comes with the combo is a simple soy sauce fried rice but was my favorite thing we ate! So much flavor in something so simple. Shrimp in garlic sauce barely has any spice and not nearly enough garlic. Felt more like a chop suey stir fry. House drinks available: home crewed ice tea, lemonade, or Thai ice tea I had the Thai tea today and can confirm it's authentic in fact possibly one of the best Thai tea I've had!!! Several tables available but parking can be limited. Great staff, Great service, would recommend

Given the hours and the proximity to a medical building (University of Southern California Health Sciences Campus), I think a lot of the business comes there. If you are nearby or able to get there early on a weekday or stop by on the weekend before 5 o'clock, you'll be treated to some of the most delicious and reasonably priced mariscos. I was able to come on a weekday before close so the place wasn't that busy at all. I placed my order and sat in the back courtyard area outside seating. I got tostada with shrimp mango ceviche as well as two tacos dorados with shrimp. Super fresh and crispy shells and super fresh delicious seafood. They also definitely didn't skimp on the fresh avocado. My meal was such a joy to eat. It will take a little planning, but I definitely wanna come back soon.

Fresh veggies, mildly spicy and tangy sauce, and the fried shrimp enclosed in the taco shells make for a really fun blend of flavors and textures. I would have liked less sauce though, because I like my tacos not becoming soggy. Unusual location, but good food and quality!
