I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I ordered their shrimp taco and their shrimp ceviche. Their shrimp is clean and their tacos are decently flavorful. They are a bit expensive for their portion sizes they serve. I really enjoyed their remedio soda beverage. It was very tasty and refreshing. I've been here before and had the tacos, and they were actually really good; which is why this visit was so disappointing. This time I ordered the tostada perrona and the pokastrankas, and unfortunately both had zero flavor. For the price, I was expecting something much better. I paid $43 for just those two items, and neither one stood out in any way. They were very bland and honestly not worth the cost. My friend ordered the tostada Huerfana and said the same thing; no flavor at all. It's really disappointing, especially considering how good the reviews are. If you love Mexican style seafood, you have to try Mariscos El Yaki. It's a food truck located in Santa Ana that has been there for years. Before this last time I hadn't been here in years and I'm a tell you the food is always fresh and they nail it every time. My favorites are the Ceviches and the different seafood tostadas. Be prepared to eat, standing either at the edge of the food truck or you might wanna pop open the back of your trunk and eat there. It's part of the dining in adventure. A strong craving for ceviche led me to finding this truck on Yelp one Tuesday and no, they don't have Taco Tuesday specials here. What they have are amazing fish and shrimp tacos - Baja style! Yep, breaded and lightly fried in greasy glory, available everyday of the week. They go for $3 to $3.50/pop. I also highly recommend the Taco Perron with deliciously seasoned bare shrimp, perfectly fried breaded fish, and melted cheese. Oooh la la... 3 tacos will fill you up but why stop there when their menu has some mouthwatering Tostada options featuring a variety of fresh seafood. I was looking for something cool and refreshing so I ended up getting the Huerfana Tostada ($11) which had fish and shrimp ceviche, boiled shrimp, octopus, and raw shrimp per the truck lady's coaxing. It wasn't like a ceviche dish that would have a mouth-puckering tart flavor to it but it was good! The location is easy to find and the ambiance around is nice and calm. Not to mention the aguachile was delicious!! Fresh and legit Sonorense style properly made for sure and served too. Seafood taco truck. I'm a lover of everything seafood, so I had to try this food truck myself. The menu on the truck itself is all in Spanish but for those in need of a translation, you can ask for a paper copy. Good selection of topped tostones as well as tacos. I decided to go with some of the top sellers on the taco side of the menu: Yaqui, Perron and Reyes Del Mar. each had seafood (duhh). Flavors were pretty good. I wish some of the octopus would've come through more and same with the Yaqui, where only tasted the shrimp, not much of the marlin or cheese. The sauces that come with it are flavorful (two of them are spicy; one is similar to a chipotle mayo) but I wish there was some fresh salsa on the side as well. read more

this is the best place to get ceviche and seafood tacos! highly recommend we got 2 of the tostada huerfana which was a pretty big portion of ceviche and had a bunch of different seafood in it like octopus, shrimp, fish and maybe more. all the seafood was so soft and so good plus points for this cool tower looking presentation we also got 3 tacos - grilled shrimp (no cheese), fried fish, and the camaron enchilado one which was recommended by the worker and had different kinds of seafood with grilled bell peppers, onions, etc. honestly couldnt pick which was my favorite cuz they were all fire for 2 of us, this was plenty of food and had some leftovers. the orange and green sauce was our favorite! the white one is super spicy if u can tolerate it hahah i used to live in san diego so ive had plenty of good mexican food there but this place was really impressive and might have been the best seafood mexican place ive tried. go here if ur around OC! read more

I had been looking for a solid fish taco spot since I left LA and South Bay. This is it, I think. We got the Ceviche de Camaron, Pokastrankas, two Tacos Perron, and one Taco Cameron Enchilado. The Ceviche de Camaron and the Pokastrankas is BASICALLY the same thing, except the Pokastrankas comes with fish, and octopus in addition to the shrimp. Also, both of these are huge, which explains the price and why we spent basically $50 at a taco truck. They're both quite refreshing and if you like ceviches, you'll enjoy both of these. Just don't get them both for two people like the idiots we were. As for the tacos, Tacos Perron is basically what I had been searching for in OC. It's a taco with shrimp and fish chicharron and the flavors cannot be adequately described with words. Are these tacos a microwave? 'Cause mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The Camaron Enchilado taco was great too, but I'd say it's a bit short of the Perron. The spice isn't really there in the standalone taco, so some additional sauce/salsa may be needed depending on your heat tolerance. All in all, a fantastic taco truck, and the next time I visit, I'll probably stick to the tacos because I enjoyed them so much and also I'm not really trying to spend as much money I did eating tacos. read more

Some say best fish tacos in Orange County. You will get no argument from me. It is no secret that Santa Ana has a number of good to great spots of mariscos (Spanish for seafood). There may be too many to pick from. That said, it is fairly safe to assume that few offer as many menu options - especially when it comes to tacos - prepared from a food truck like El Yaquai Cahumanta Y Mariscos. LOCATION: Conveniently parked on a street curb next to the parking lot for Superior Warehouse Grocers (1710 S Main St.), on the corner between Broadway Street and W. Edinger Avenue. THE FOOD: Classic recipe of Mexican seafood dishes representing the many different regions throughout the country as well as Spanish and Latin American dishes. Fish, shrimp, octopus, calamari, oysters and manta ray are the main ingredients. The lunch lines can get pretty long and the wait time to get your food can take as long as 15 minutes. It is best to beat the mad rush and come before 12 noon or forgo the lunch hours all together and dine here during the late afternoon or evening hours. They close promptly at 7pm. (Sundays close at 6pm.) SYNOPSIS: You can believe the hype about this place. Expect droves of people waiting in line for some of the most delicious seafood tacos you will sync your teeth into. Perched atop a plastic stool on the sidewalk, the type one would get from the 99 cent store, I had the thought that someone should bankroll this here business and help them to open a brick and mortar site. Then I thought again. Much of the charm here is derived from the fact that there's these spectacular, inexpensive, Mexican seafood creations being pumped out of a truck parked beside a strip mall parking lot on a random street in Santa Ana. The only way this food could taste any better is if that truck were parked seaside in Baja. Food trucks might've jumped the shark some time ago but an original taco truck will never be out of style. One that specializes in seafood, with a menu of 16 seafood tacos and 3 ceviche tostadas, should experience eternal life. Yes, I liked the place. The photos of the Tostada de Ceviche de Pescado don't do it justice. Most are taken from overhead when they should be taken from the side, perhaps with a ruler inserted to gauge the width and depth. The ceviche part was big, round, and piled high. That's a lot of ceviche. I also opted for the Taco de Botana Caliente and, while paying, inquired as to whether there was anything I'd not ordered that I must order. "Taco Perron with melted cheese is our most popular taco" I was told, so certainly I added that to my order which tabbed out at a - wait for it - grand total of $9.50. I've spent more than that on a single, far smaller order of ceviche elsewhere and bet you have too. When my order was ready I was told about a chipotle sauce and warned about a habanero sauce, all there for the taking, in a self-serve bed of ice. The excellent sauces (there are more, too) are all available in small to-go containers if you opt to pass on the sidewalk seating. But you shouldn't pass on the sidewalk seating. It's part of the charm and it ensures you consume these creations at the absolute peak of freshness. I'd personally eat anything off of this menu anywhere - in a box, with a fox, in a house, with a mouse, in the dark, on a train, in a car, in a tree. Fresh seafood, excellent Mexican fare, al fresco seating (who needs tables?), with no posted prices but with change from a $10 bill. This is my kind of place. I come here because it's so close and convenient but every time I come I always tell myself it needs to be my last. Staff is not that nice, when you place an order you're told it'll be ready in a certain amount of time but when you arrive you always have to wait. Portions are so small and they always put an immense amount of onion & cucumber to make it look like they're giving you a larger portion than what it is. Last time I came here I ordered the larger portion of what I usually get, assuming, I would actually get more but it seemed just about the same with just more onion, cucumber, but also this time they added oranges lol. Also don't know why they would serve avocados that are not ripe - the avocados on the entree were extremely hard and not edible at all. read more
