Value is solid. It's good for a family dinner. Place was pretty popular and there was a wait on a Sunday night.

my wife and I are eating here at sunday 07/02/2023 once more . I haven't been here in a few months but the food is still good and tasty fairly cheap excellent for a date or a quick night out. bring the family and bring yourself here. the tacos are cheap. We ordered 2 fish tacos, 2 shrimp tacos, 2 hard shell tacos asada, 2 mojarra fritas / tilapia, 1 horchata & matarind jarritos.

Oyster cheers!

The service was excellent, & I must say, the food was 1000/10. This is definitely my spot. It is so good & you'd be amazed at the prices. I'm definitely going back to try the hot dishes. It's kid friendly & I think it's cute that they have a juke box in there playing their Spanish music. It's a cute little restaurant.

There's no surcharge for debit but they always charge credit.

The food is always bland... I have been here four times already. I like giving places the benefit of the doubt. So I tried their ceviche and it's 3/10 too much tomato so it over takes all the other flavors. Doesn't have a lot of fish. The cocktail is a 5/10 ir gives off frozen shrimp flavor. Fish taco plate today and it's a 2/10 there is no flavor in the batter used, the sauce is only sour cream with a hint of tapatio... the chips and salsa is a 1/10 it's not salsa it's diced tomatoes only not even onion in it. The horchata is a 10/10... service is ok but lady behind register will charge you for charging you

Dirt inside the shrimp!

It's my third time here, and I was very disappointed!! Shrimp looks nasty! Be aware of what you are going to eat!!

They were just awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand award this week for their excellent, affordable food. One thing that I appreciate about their tacos is that their meats have varied textures. The costilla (rib meat) is a crowd pleaser as you get the taste of the grill/charcoal. They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. This is easily one of the best options for tacos in Long Beach and, if you haven't had it yet, then you really should! This is the type of place that we need to support!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

If you want big portions, legit authentic food, and prices that won't personally offend you--this is your spot. The pork shank? Fall-off-the-bone, no-effort-required kind of delicious. The tacos are (I do wish they had à la carte instead of plates, but honestly their rice and refried beans slap so I'll allow it). The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. They bring out chips and salsa immediately (as they should), service is quick, and there's plenty of parking--which already puts them ahead of half the restaurants in SoCal.

Their Taqueria place is top notch so assuming the taste and the quality of food would be the same for their restaurant. I was greeted and wait time was 15 mins. Seated after and ordered Mexican sodas, water and adult beverages. All was very good. Chips and Salsa was served. This place is very gracious with their salsa! Not tight at all. Some places, they would just give you a tiny cup but this place is a complete opposite. For a party of 5, ordered our main entrees. Wet burritos, chilli rellenos, and assorted main dishes. Overall the quality of the food was superb. 90 percent of the food served was exceptional. The 10% is a different story. The chilli rellenos was not Mexican authentic. Who puts blue cheese inside a chilli rellenos. There is a hit and miss on their menu, this is definitely a miss on their restaurants. It tasted awful! Almost threw up. Two negatives that stood out. Chilli Rellenos and customer service. Our waitress will disappear for 10 to 15 minutes and we would have to constantly flag her down. I did not get her name, but she was young. She could of been alittle bit better to attentiveness. Overall I would come back. Depending what you order.. it is a hit and miss. Plenty of parking. Good location and nice ambiance. Friendly people.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

First interaction: They advertise a Happy Hour on M-F from 5-6 PM We had this interaction with a server in the bar. "Can we get an order in before Happy Hour is up?" Server "Of course. (Looking at phone the time on their phone). What would you like?" We order. Drinks are brought over along with the check for full price drinks. Me "Can you please fix this check? It's not 6 yet and you are still on Happy Hour, that's why we rushed over." Server "Oh yeah, today we don't have Happy Hour so there is no discount." Me "What so you mean, we ordered these drinks on Happy Hour and now you are telling us there is no Happy Hour as advertised." Server: "Well, we don't do Happy Hour when there is an event in the area, so they are full price." Second interaction (after waiting 45 minutes for a table in the restaurant). We ordered the "made to order table side guac" for 15.50 for an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, a guac is delivered to the table that was either run through a blender or was taken from a tub with a spoonful of pico mixed in. So much for the advertised table side experience or fresh avocado. The guac we buy at Trader Joe's and from Costco are way better. Third Interaction when ordering an entree. I order enchiladas and they have red or green sauce. I ask, Can I get both red sauce on one and green sauce on the other? Response, "well there's an extra charge for that". Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.
