What a hidden gem!! Mariscos Mocorito specializes in Mexican Seafood dishes. Don't let the homey interior and lack of AC discourage you from coming here because the food is beyond phenomenal. The flavors are authentic and the seafood is fresh, and the prices are extremely reasonable too!! I came here with 2 friends to enjoy a few Cervezas ($3.25/each) and they have a good variety of domestic and import beers. We ended up all picking different beers: Victoria, Dos Equis and Modelo. Cheers! My friend who recommended the spot got a Caldo de Marisos ($13.95), which is a hot seafood soup with shrimp, octopus, abalone and fish. The seafood looks super generous. My other friend had 2 Taco de Camaron (2.99/each), or shrimp tacos. He opted for the batter dipped version and enjoyed his meal also. I decided to get the Ceviche de Camaron ($3.40), which is a shrimp ceviche tostada & a Ceviche de Pescado ($3.40), which is a fish ceviche tostada. The ceviche here is AMAZING!! Perhaps the best I have ever had. The generous seafood toppings dropped as I bit into my tostada and I had to use the extra complimentary tostada chips for the table to scoop up the excess protein. I enjoyed both the shrimp and the fish options and they had really good lime flavor to them. The price is amazing for such a generous portion of seafood. I could definitely see myself coming back here for more ceviche and cervezas. They were a meal match made in heaven! read more

Don't see the hype, Yelp. Marlin taco was a mess and tasted like old salsa mixed in with smelly fish. I literally could not stand the smell and the taste was me picking out the old bell peppers and tomatoes that were smashed in between. Would not recommend. The shrimp ceviche was okay, based off other menu items I wish I had ordered two of these. My friend ordered aguachiles, and she is very accustomed to spicy foods however she could hardly finish her plate. She had to ask for limes, as they provided us with none. First off, park in the east lot so you don't walk past the alley full of garbage on the west side of the building. Frankly it's rather off-putting right before you eat. The place has a loyal following. All tables full through lunch and dinner, so go at an odd time or expect a wait. Prices reasonable. Food decent. Timing fine. Honestly the thing we remember most about the meal is the plastic cap we found buried in the ceviche. It was disappointing because the staff didn't seem too concerned, and they didn't offer us any form of apology: no manager, no discount, no dessert, no nothing. I don't demand special treatment like that from everywhere I go, but this piece of plastic was the same color as some of the ingredients and it was buried down in the ceviche. We only found it by accident, and the staff showed no recognition that this was something to be concerned about. We won't be back. read more

I visited on a Friday night after 7. It's a very lively experience music playing and fast service. It felt like I was at a barbeque. Very fun and causal and seemed very popular. I tried the Marlin,and shrimp tacos and they were good. The Marlin was a first for me and the flavor reminded me of tinga. And the texture was similar to tuna or vegan jackfruit tacos. The shrimp tacos were my favorite. It was the first time I tried beer battered shrimp and I was impressed. The brown salsa was really good on both tacos and the tostadas they served when you sit down. I like the idea of full tostada's instead of chips. Good stuff. read more

I was looking for a local spot for some good seafood and I'm happy I stumbled on this place. They have plenty of seating outside and inside, but I wouldn't go with a party of 8 or more since most tables are spread out for 4 people. The menu only has like 12 items on it, but it makes it easy to order. I would highly recommend the fish and shrimp tacos because they are cooked with a nice crisp to them and the salsa has a good level of spice. This is spot I will return to. read more

Tried this tonight and was extremely happy overall with the meal. We got the seafood soup...amazing and filled with a lot of shrimp. The Marisco taco is what they're known for and def something that should be tried. Also tried the fish tacos and that was a solid choice as well. Will def come back to try more in the near future. I would definitely never order their shrimp and fish tacos ever again. The salsa was salty and the tacos only had 2 pieces of shrimp and a small piece of fish which is not worth the price. Maybe their other dishes are good but I wouldn't recommend getting the tacos. read more
