Went to Marlowe's Tavern with a group of approximately 30 women for our organizations gathering which was scheduled in advance with the venue mgmt. We were given a very limited menu which did not include a choice of appetizers and only 3 entree options. There were no vegetarian options on the menu provided. I asked the waitress for a full menu and was advised,"this is the only menu we can give because of the number of people in your party. This way the kitchen won't get overwhelmed." There was no bread or salad on the table, only a glass of water. Also had to wait an extended length of time for a water refill. The restaurant knew weeks in advance of our reservation, however, there was only ONE server assigned to our entire party. I treasured the fellowship with my group as always, however, I will not recommend this establishment to anyone nor do I have any intention of visiting again. I was not expecting that, but greatly appreciate the level of respect and attention they gave me as a consumer. They apologized for the lack of quality and offered to make things right. However, the cheerful staff, quality food, and phenomenal drinks have kept me coming back almost every night during my extended stay in Tucker. My first time at Marlow's I sat at the bar. I was swiftly acknowledged by an exceptionally dazzling woman whom introduced herself as "Bri". Bri proceeded to introduce her co-bartender and then in rare fashion, asked what my name was! So now, throughout my whole night of drinking and eating we are on a first name basis with each other. I felt lIke I was a regular despite it being my first night in Atlanta. Now each member of the bar staff conducts themselves as certified mixologist...if that's even what you call it. Old fashioned? No problem! Margarita? They can make that!! Can you make me a good shot!? Bam, it's done! Can I steal them to bartend at my wedding? Now the food at this spot is also on point! The menu is not extensive but that is a good quality! I always preach this! Quality over quantity any day. The menu has a very southern touch. Wings, Shrimp n Grits, Fish Tacos, Nachos...all familiar dishes that are offered with Marlow's own twist! I ate the fish tacos 3 nights in a row...I was starting to feel like a pescatarian. The kitchen is visible from the restaurant floor which is always a good sign of transparency. Round of applause from me to the chefs back there cause they really hustle, yet still manage to plate every dish beautifully. Marlow's is a spot enjoyed by locals and travelers alike. I went here for brunch on Sunday and really enjoyed it. For $15.95 you can enjoy the brunch buffet and for $15 more you can get bottomless mimosas! I haven't been in years but since it seems like every weekend I'm trying a new brunch spot, thought it might be good to try out one from my past. I'm glad we did. My two favorite appetizers are the Shrimp and Crab "Nachos" and the Asparagus Fries. I have yet to find my favorite entrees; I have had several sufficient choices, but nothing I would order again at this point. Why the four stars? The staff has been stellar on each visit. On one occasion, I went with a large group of teachers, and we were treated like queens by the manager and the wait staff, even though I am fairly certain a few of us were demanding and all of us were borderline annoying. Just tried Marlows at the new Doubletree around Northlake Mall. Today was a Friends and Family day so the food was free for helping train the staff. We started off with the Shrimp and Crab Nachos. They take a taco size tortilla and top it with cheesy crab dip and one shrimp, then cut it into 8 pieces with a jalapeno. It was pretty good, very cheesy and creamy. I had the Frisco Club which had a delicious apple slice relish something something on it, and enjoyed it. My wife had the Fish Tacos which had blackened Tilapia I think. It was a little too seasoned for me, but still was good. For our daughter, they have a surf and turf for kids, shrimp and a hot dog. She liked the shrimp, but doesn't really eat hot dogs (cause she thinks they are made out of dog). Overall, I enjoyed the food. I thought the food good if not exceptional - the staff seems to be very kind and the service I experienced was good. I was hoping the food was a bit better based on some of the reviews I've read but alas, it's mostly bar or pub food - nothing exceptional. Still, if you're in the area looking for something to eat it's an alternative to some of the other places around Northlake Mall. Most of the times I've ate at a Marlow's around town I would give them 4 or 5 stars, but my particular experience at Marlow's near Northlake this past weekend was not a great one. I would have given this place 2 stars if the service had not saved it. On Saturday after a busy day of running around taking engagement pictures and doing some last minute Christmas shopping we were on our way home and decided to drop into Marlow's for lunch since the food and service has always been great. Not sure what happened to this place on this particular day, but we sat down and were greeted right away by a very friendly and attentive waitress. We decided to split a burger and an order of their famous kettle chips. The kettle chips took about 30 minutes to arrive and appeared as if they skimped on the tomatoes, bacon and chives, and even the blue cheese. The chips were stale. Our burger didn't get to the table until the hour mark and was not great at all, the bun tasted old and the burger patty was very small and crispy. Overall we were looking for a quick lunch, but it took us 1 and 1/2 hours to eat lunch at Marlows Saturday. We were only 1 of about 4 tables in the entire restaurant. read more

This is a solid Marlows. A reliable chain. My work team and I needed to meet at a COVID friendly patio space and this place did the trick. As a standard rule, Marlows has my very favorite potato chips that they load up with blue cheese, green onions, bacon, and a dressing of sorts. This location did not disappoint in that department. I brought my mom with me, she seemed to enjoy watching the people around her, eating burgers and the Firecracker Shrimp. She ordered the Tavern's Blue Berry lemonade and I ordered my usual Sweet Tea. His name is Jamie. From the onset of the conversation I sensed that he was genuinely concerned about my previous review. He even shared that he looked at the cameras which supported what I had shared. Most importantly his goal today was to redeem my patronage at Marlow's restaurant. He spoke with me from his heart and told me that the situation would be handled. Excellent customer service involves meeting and surpassing expectations. It means showing the customer how important he or she is to you and the business by interacting with he or she in a friendly- helpful and positive way.Because of him I feel redeemed and will definitely go back to Marlow's on Lavista Road. I ate/drank here 4 times in a 3 day span bc I was staying in the hotel to which this location is connected. Let me start by saying that the service here is really great! We sat at the bar each time, and the bartenders and the managers and other workers were very attentive and polite. The food here was pretty good as well. The first time I ate here, I ordered the crab and shrimp nachos. These I would rate a 3/5. The idea was creative, loved the cheese melted on top, but the crab meat lacked seasoning so the nachos were a little on the bland side. Had they seasoned the crab meat with just a little old bay before baking the nachos, they would have been the bomb.com. The second time I ate here, I ordered the grilled chicken BLT- so good! I'd give it a 4/5. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 was bc the fried green tomatoes on it were soggy by the time it reached my plate. It might be better to serve this one without the top slice of bread on it so the tomato won't get soggy before reaching the customer. The last time I ate here, I ordered the tuna poke and the Asian chicken salad. These dishes were both overly sweet. The tuna poke was tossed in and drizzled in a teriyaki sauce that had a hint of pineapple. Just too sweet. The sauce would have been nice had it been cut with perhaps some lemon juice or something acidic or some spice, but I would order again and I'd give it a 3/5. The Asian chicken salad, however, I would not order again or recommend. The dressing was absolutely overly sweet. I couldn't even eat half the salad bc it was off putting to eat a salad drenched in a sweet, creamy sauce. I wish I had tried another appetizer in place of the salad. Salad = 1/5. It's funny how you can drive by a location for years and never stop in till someone invites you for a dinner or a date. This is exactly how it was for me with Marlow's, which I did not even know existed, but which I have passed on LaVista Road, on my way to Northlake Mall, probably 300 times. I finally had a chance to eat there today when I was invited for a work-related holiday party. I must say that it is a hidden gem in a locale, which is usually not known for good restaurants (more like Red Lobster, Fuddrucker's, etc.) Marlow's is solid American-style fare, with few surprises, but everyone at my table enjoyed their food. I had a Diet Coke and the lobster pot pie, which was less of a pastry, and more of a pastry top in a large bowl of lobster and veggies. I liked it, but it was pretty bland, so I rectified that with some Tabasco. All in all, I am looking forward to returning and trying other items.
