Wow is all I can say. My husband and I were traveling through and decided to stop here for food. First, do NOT be discouraged that this is at a Doubletree Hotel. It has its own entrance and it's a very nice hotel. But let's talk about the food. The food was AMAZING! I got chicken breast with cauliflower purée, Brussels sprouts, and green beans. I wasn't looking forward to much, but it was seriously all incredible, juicy, and flavorful. My hubby had a burger and fried okra and I tasted his burger as well. Cooked perfectly and also incredible. The okra was piled high and their ranch dressing, made in-house, was so so good. I also had a delicious Manhattan. We had an amazing first time experience here at Marlow's. I had recently finished an appointment at a nearby hospital and I was starving at lunch time. Upon my mother's rec, we visited Marlow's. Our server's name was Jarrell, I believe. It was his first week. He was attentive, sweet, and professional. The manager was walking around making sure everything was ok. I loved my food! The New Style Hummus includes Creamy Hummus, Crispy Brussels & Cauliflower, Harissa, Toasty Seasoned Pita, Extra Virgin Olive Oiland is thoughtfully plated in a swirl. All of the salads are fresh and delicious, and you can easily "plus it up" with a protein like shrimp, chicken, salmon, tuna poke or steak. I'm in love with the caesar with blackened salmon. First time there tonight. The service was extremely poor. We had a party of six. Three checks. Firstly, after we were seated it took quite awhile for our waiter to come over and get our drink orders. Secondly, it took another long time for him to come back, check on us and take our orders. Thirdly, my son, and his girlfriend's dad ordered second drinks to that never came. Fourthly, his girlfriend's mom has celiac dz and ordered the black truffle Parmesan fries for an appetizer and while everyone else's came out her's did not. In fact our main dishes started coming out and she still had not received her appetizer. Our waiter didn't show up yet. We had to get another server to help us. Fifthly, the mom had ordered the gluten free Ahi Tuna salad (these were from a gluten free menu by the way) as her main course. That too did not come out and once again we had to ask for it. When it did arrive she noticed strips of toasted noodles. Lastly, and I'm not making this up. We had asked for three separate checks. When our waiter finally came out with them (I had to ask for them too) he bought out a separate receipt for each item. So I had 4 different receipts for my portion, my son had four different for his and the girl friend's parents had three! So we all give it a huge thumbs down. They did try to amend a bit, they didn't charge her and the gave her a small house salad. It was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We dined here on a late Tuesday afternoon, so a lot of available seating. The interior was darker with black chairs and booths and dark hardwood floor, no windows, but clean and neat. Our server was good, but food better. We tried the wings with two flavors, BBQ and honey mustard. I really enjoyed the honey mustard and the wings were a good size and crispy. We also had the shrimp and grits and burger and fries. The shrimp and grits were flavorful and they give you plenty of shrimp. The burger was juicy with good flavors, but a bit undercooked (I got medium and it was more medium rare). Okra fries were good too. My kid got a pizza with fries and it came with a good amount for $5. This Marlows Tavern is located under the Doubletree Hotel, but they still have plenty of free parking in the front. This time i had it - the chicken was a thigh piece with bones, potato puffs (croquettes) and green beans. Tasted different. I didn't really enjoy anything other than the green beans and croquettes. For an appetizer I had the shrimp & crab nachos. I've had these before also and this time there is barely any shrimp. Overall I was not fond of the change. It's a good place however for drinks. The fries were just terrible - bits and pieces of burnt potato crisps. The bartender apologized and gave me a can of coke. I left. This Marlowe's at I-285 was very good before the pandemic. I visit this location often. Lately the service has been awful. I came in February 3, 2024 for dinner with a small group. It took two hours for our food to come out. This is from the time we were seated until the last plate was served. When the final plate came out, there was hair in the food. After the last plate was delivered, I immediately asked for the check. It took almost another hour for the check to be delivered to the table. I sincerely regret bringing my group here. A dining experience should not take three hours. While in metro Atlanta I stopped here for lunch. The service from the start was really good and customer service focused. First the server, upon learning this was a first time visit, reviews the menu layout and answers questions. Second, a manager stopped by with a decent free sample of a popular appetizer, a kettle chip cheese bacon concoction. Upon suggestion from our server, I tried the fish tacos with a side salad. The salad was quite good, had apples, pecans, celery, and romaine lettuce in a vinaigrette. What you should have done was take it off the bill and send out a better product at no charge for us having to sit here longer, no update by the server, and sending out a horrible product, especially at 13.80, all the while our rambunctious boys getting restless. Be better. Btw: here is a pick of one of the redone 5 wings. One of those funky looking ones made it again. As for the other food: the SOD was tasty and the spinach dip was as well. I dined at Marlows tavern yesterday for an early dinner with members of the welcome team from my church. It was my first time dining at this location and I was looking forward to a good meal based on my experience at the midtown location. This location is located inside the Doubletree Hotel and you can get to it from inside the hotel or outside of it. When I walked inside to the restaurant I wasn't exactly sure where to stand since there wasn't anything that looked like a hostess booth. Several employees passed me and didn't say a word or acknowledge me; I stood at the entrance for 8 minutes and then the manager came from the back to greet me. He had a smile and was very pleasant and directed me to the waiting area where my group was located. The restaurant itself is very small and not really ideal for large parties. It wasn't the cleanest place but I think that was due to Sunday brunch just coming to an end and the team possibly trying to recover from the rush. Our party was set in the open banquet area and had two waitresses assigned to us. Both waitresses did a great job answering questions and serving us with a smile. The reason for the 3 stars is primarily due to the food and appearance of the restaurant when I walked in. I ordered a black bean burger and fries for my entree and smoked trout dip as a starter. The dip was delicious and you could taste the smoke from the trout which I loved. The dish was served with pita chips that were a little too salty for me, which often took away from the flavor of the dip. My black bean burger looked like it had just been thrown into a patty without any type of shape. As soon as I took a bite, the burger crumbled and it was very bland. They fries were also soggy with no seasoning. I was very disappointed in my meal, especially after my experience at the midtown location. My bill came to about $20 and I still left a 20% tip because the servers did an awesome job and shouldn't be blamed for sub par food. Marlows on a Wednesday is busy! It took us at least 5 minutes to find a parking spot and that was after a few people came out. When we walked in and all the tables we could see were full, there wasn't even any space at the bar. We continued to walk towards the back and I saw a lone high top table in the back. As we were walking toward it, I assume we looked lost bc we were stopped and asked if we needed help. We let her know we were looking for a table and she said she would get it cleaned off for us right away. Once we were seated we were brought menus and silverware right away. Our server, Nakaela, brought us water and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. Both my dad and I ordered the black and blue burger, mine was medium well with no bacon and my dad's was medium with bacon both with fries. Now I've already mentioned they were busy, so there were quite a few tickets but they were getting the food out. The manager, which was also the lady who helped us when we were trying to find a table, was not only working the line trying to get the food out but she was also delivering food. This manager was very involved and I appreciate this. We received our food maybe 15-20 minutes later and I couldn't wait to eat it. That burger was so delicious. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. That gorgonzola just made it better. The fries were a little crisper than I prefer but I would rather have my fries crispy rather than not crispy. It is not a sports bar, they have a few TVs mounted on the wall with sports but TVs are hard to watch, the place wasn't design for you sitting and watching the TVs. Burgers are very good and beer selection is good. Black and blue burger is awesome and it cost $13. Great taste, good portion and the Gorgonzola cheese make the burger something special. Black bean burger is also pretty good $8, it will cost you a little more if you want to add cheese. Portion is huge and very good flavor. Asparagus fries are amazing, crispy and super tasty. Ugh, check your take away before leaving. I called in and ordered the honey mustard wings. They said it would take 15 min it took 30 and when I get home the wings were dry, no seasoning, no honey mustard sauce. I called in because I don't live close, to let them know the mistake. This place is huge. And if you come and the first floor is packed, try the rooftop. It's great for warm weather. We were greeted by George who is seriously so accommodating and friendly and recommended we give the rooftop a try rather than wait for a table. We ended up outside, away from the bustle of the restaurant. The service was great, a tad slow but he was very welcoming. He recommended the blueberry cocktail with ginger beer and creme brûlée beer to us, which were fantastic! I'm usually not a dark beer drinker but the creme brûlée beer was pleasantly nice.
