When I called the get an alteration for a dress, it was $35, when I picked it up the lady at the counter claimed it was $45. Desperately needed my shirt cleaned and back same day; while "technically" they do offer this service.... "in by 9am, out by 5pm", it isn't quite as advertised. I got to the store at 8:30am, well before the advertised 9am. I had ONE white button down dress shirt. Not a basket of clothes, nothing silk or difficult. When I walked in and asked the person at the counter about getting same day service, I could tell immediately by the look she gave me it wasn't going to happen. She shrugged her shoulders, gave a big sigh, looked around (by the way, I'm the only customer in the store). Finally she went and asked someone whether or not this was possible. Mind you, this is a Monday morning, non-holiday. Just your typical work week day. When she came back I was told it would be ready "after 5" and she emphasized the after 5 part. When I asked her what that meant she said they closed at 6:30 so it could be ready anytime up until they close. I asked about the advertisement that stated in by 9am out by 5pm and she just said it supposed to be "after" 5pm, and 6:30 is after 5pm. Well, 9:30pm is also after 5pm for that fact! I was in a huge bind and couldn't find a place on Sunday so I researched on the internet to find a place that could get it done and was HUGELY disappointed in the false advertising for this place. They may actually do good work for all I know, but what I needed they failed miserably. So, my solution to the problem? I had to go out and buy a brand new shirt. I can't remember the last time I ever needed same day service but when I have done it in the past at other cleaners, it's always pretty simle and straight forward. This place is the ABSOLUTE WORST EVER!!!! My hubby and I have been coming here for years, due to it's closeness, however; this does not seem to make any impression on the owners. I dropped off a gorgeous 'cream' colored work blazer ( first time cleaned, still brand new) a jacket I had been getting tons of compliments on.\ and loved to death-made every outfit jacket! Pick it up and it's a weird UGLY hideous dishwatery greyish color!! AHHHH so frustrated with dry cleaners NOT doing the right work. They would not claim any wrong doing of course and offered no apology. Disgusting really. Obviously left this unwearable garment there and we are never going back. What irrehensible customer service. I do not recommend this place. I dropped off 2 men's dress shirts and the earliest they could be picked up was 4 days later. When I dropped them off I specifically told the lady that all the seams need to be flat. When I went to pick up some of the seams were pressed up. She then said to fix them would take 3 days. I had to argue with her for 3 minutes to get her to take the 2 minutes to flatten the seams! I will Not be returning! read more

I have been a client of Martinique Dry Cleaning, mobile service for over 4 years. I am self employed with my business in Carlsbad, CA. Martinique Dry Cleaning has the BEST service ever! Steve or one of his team members, picks up my dry cleaning from my office, and returns it a few days later. All nice, clean and in garment protectors. I have two "dirty laundry bags" labeled for me, and I don't even have to see him. So when I'm with a client or not in the office, I just leave my bag in a designated place, and he promptly picks it up on the scheduled days. I have had alterations done.....all I do is mark the hem length for example, and it's returned hemmed and cleaned!! I have my leather handbags cleaned, they take extra time due to the nature of cleaning genuine leather handbags, but come back all nice and clean, in dust covers! They can handle it all. Their service is top notch! Being in the service industry myself, this is extremely important, and most valuable to a successful business. The prices are comparable, except I don't have to waste my time and gas in driving to a cleaners, finding a parking spot, and then remembering days or weeks later to pick it up! So, even if it costs pennies more, the value is in, saving me valuable time, therefore saves me money, and I can continue to focus on my business. This place is ledgit. I love how easy it is to drop n go. By the amount of pieces of clothing the have hanging I can tell they service 1000s of customers. They also service the OGHS military uniforms for my son and his classmates and treat them great. They've stayed open a few minutes after closing for me to arrive. One time my wife was counting change because she forgot her card and they told her to pay later. They always great us by name. This is my type of service! Horrible place!!! Will never go there again! They put creases on the front of my French Cuff shirt, not just 1 but 4 and they were curved also. When you pull a shirt out that you need for that night and it has crease marks down it that are clearest done with a Press is horrible! read more

Found this place a few months ago after my husband had a shirt ruined by a different cleaner. We have been very happy with the service. The gals are always helpful and sweet. I went to this cleaner for at least 3 years because I knew of no other. They cleaned okay at best. I have a beautiful crewel linen pillow and comforter set. My cat slept on the pillow one weekend and got hair and some dirt on it. I took it in and told them. They absolutely ruined it. They washed it and ruined it. The dyes ran and they didn't even press it. They said it came to them that way!!! They were rude and dismissive. You certainly could never take anything nice there, but the attitude was what closed the door. read more

I took my jersey here a while back. NEVER again. They completely destroyed a $200 jersey and said that due to the stitching they won't replace it or reimburse me. I've been a customer for years so I trusted them to clean my daughter's wedding dress. They do lots of wedding dresses. Because of her small size I made her dress myself. I've made other bridal gowns as well as many prom/formal gowns. (I am past vice-president of the San Diego Wearable Arts Council and won a national embellishment contest.) The owner, Trudy, checked in the gown and did not note any damage. A week later when I picked it up I noticed that the lace bodice was falling apart, the silk was shrunken and wrinkled, the tulle was limp and shriveled. No one had called me, No one knew what had happened. I made an appointment to see both owners, Steve and Trudy Brody. They immediately claimed I had done the damage myself before I brought the dress to them for cleaning. Steve said the dress had gone through the same process as all the other bridal gowns and none of them were ruined. However, he offered to send it to Adco Independant Garment Analysis in Missouri for analysis. The report came back saying excessive moisture had caused the damage and it could not have been caused by the hydrocarbon process. Steve interpreted that to be proof that he was not at fault. Becuase his own wife had been the one to actually see the dress when I first brought it in for cleaning, she knew that it was not damaged before they cleaned it, yet she agreed with her husband. I sent new samples to Adco. After a year of phone calls and no results the company was bought out. The tech at the new location agreed to test new samples. His conclusion was that the dress must have been washed more than once to have sustained so much damage. He tested samples in both hydrocarbon and a hot water process. The water process caused the most damage but not as much as the dress had sustained. The Brody's still stuck to their story that it was my fault the dress was damaged and have refused to even refund their cleaning fee of $79. read more

They damaged my 25 momme silk sheets and pillow cases. The owner is the worst business woman I have met. Refused to accept the fact that they were ruined by their hand. The employee even admitted that she noticed the fabric was different from when she got them to how they turned out. The owner blamed me and said that I must've damaged it myself and put the blame on them. These were brand new. First time being cleaned and I took it to them. Now I'm out 600-700. Poor customer service and service on my sheets etc. Do not go here. I warn you. They will blame you. The owner got extremely defensive when I mentioned the problem with the silk. She gives attitude. She is terrible. Her name is Trudy I believe. She said she followed the tags. I asked her did she physically wash them. She said no an employee by the name of Esmeralda. So I said how do you know then if she didn't make a mistake. Simple answer she gave me was that she has been working for 11 years. Poor excuses they give. They know nothing about expensive products. They said silk changes after first wash. My silk now feels like cotton. The silk company said if it was indeed handled with care. The fabric stays the same for years. At most it may lose shine. My fitted sheet shrunk as well but to them it's my fault. Silk is not supposed to shrink. They damaged my stuff and refuse to work with me.DO NOT COME HERE. this place is a joke like the people who run it. read more
