I walked in off the street about a month ago to inquire about the cost of brake pad and rotor replacement for all four wheels (AWD). I stated The make model and year and was given a verbal price of "about $300 plus tax" from Mr Martini. He was friendly. Brought my car in today (1-10-2018) and was informed it would be "$400+ tax". $100 more than his verbal quote a month ago. No reason was given for this significant increase in price. I will update this review once the brake repairs have been completed for an assessment on quality of work. Work was completed in under 5 hours. I can't really comment on the quality of the work at this shop because they did not work on my car. However, I can comment on the owner, Mike, who went out of his way to help me out when my teenage son got stranded in Stockton on his way home to San Jose when his car blew a head gasket. We had to leave the car overnight in Stockton and Mike kindly stored it in his garage for us. The quote he gave us the next day to replace the head gasket was more than we could afford to pay, so we decided to bring the car closer to home and wait until we had the money to make the repairs. Mike allowed us to leave the car there for several days while I arranged to tow the car back to San Jose, locking it in his shop overnight. He also coordinated the tow when they came to pick up the car. I was very impressed with his professionalism and his willingness to help me out even though I was not a customer and he knew his shop would not do the repairs. In addition, he did not charge us a diagnostic fee, storage fee, or for the oil he added to the car. He even stayed at his shop after closing time until I got there to pick up my son. He made what was a very stressful event much less stressful than it would have been without his help. He's a good guy and I would trust him with my auto repair. Paid roughly $200 for them to fix my air conditioning. Picked up my car and it worked for 2 hours. Tried to reschedule and bring it back and then all of a sudden you need an appointment. It didnt help that I was 9 months pregnant and gave birth 2 days later in the middle of the summer. Finally got time to make a Yelp and made sure to stop here first. Brought my truck in for a fuel pump. Started it right away. While it was there, had him check the brakes. I knew something was wrong with them. Mike was honest and fair. Picked up the truck and after several miles of driving the ABS light came on. Brought it back the next morning. The mechanic that did the original repair worked on the truck for two hours... the ABS brake sensor went bad. It was replaced, part and labor... NO CHARGE! Some say he is expensive. ): I have been taking my vehicles to Martini's Automotive since 2015. I am a single mom of 3 and I feel like I have been taken advantage of. I took my vehicles in several times in the past 2 years and has been charged thousands of dollars for repairs that I am unclear of. On several occasions I had to continuously go back because the problem was not fixed. Not to mention is seems like every time I get my vehicle back it appeared to have another problem. That did not exist when I took it to be repaired. A couple times I picked my vehicle up and drove out the parking lot only to experience the same problem I complained about. The last time I picked it was making a loud noise by the tire that was not present when I dropped it off. Mike told me it was a pump going out but not to worry about it. I expressed my frustration about driving with the noise and his response was well it's not a cheap fix. Just recently I has car issues with my other vehicle and was quoted $3600 and at this point is when I realized the quoted price was ridiculous. I started shopping around for quotes and realized every other mechanic was almost $1500 cheaper I got a bit suspicious and explained the situation and showed a couple different repair shops receipts for work that was supposedly done on my vehicles. They ALL said that he was over charging me for repairs. The receipts are very hard to read as well as does not state what my complaints were. At this point I feel like he may have been taking advantage of me for the past 2 years. I should have known something when he did something in my drivers door that caused it not to lock only to find out by another shop that he put the lock back on backwards. After reading Martini's Automotive's other reviews I am convinced he has got over on me for thousands of dollars. read more

AC was not working, took it in and they said I was out of refrigerant so they filled and checked the AC, $170 bucks. Drive off the lot with cool AC, the next day I have no AC again, just blowing hot air. I take it in and after a few hours call me and say that my AC compressor did not work and that it was going to cost $750 collars to replace. I told them I would only pay that if they subtracted the $170 they already charged me by misdiagnosing the problem. I spoke to Honda and they said a common "mistake" some shops make is to over pressure/over fill the refrigerant that causes the compressor failure. Clean shop though. read more
