What a mess! Let me start with the good...the crab cakes are excellent!!! I honestly should have just ate that, and the Peroni on draft was nice and cold and moderately priced. However, our "special" was the mahi mahi. Since the crab was so good, we thought for sure this would be as well. Mahi should be white and flaky, but this was dry and a grayish color like it had been frozen for some time. By the time the food finally came it was easier just to eat the crab and shrimp that came with it. Our waiter was extremely slow at everything and at one point argued with my sis-n-law as to what beer she wanted. He kept telling her instead of listening to her order then finally said "alright, fine" you can have the beer you selected. We had a very large party so you would think at some point he would ask if we needed separate checks or at least expect this. By the time the bill came (a whole hour after we requested they be split) it was a huge mess. Everyone's tickets were wrong AND they had the nerve to charge 20% to our bill for the tip. The manager did comp this after my husband and several other people complained as our service was awful. Also when we arrived the hostess was cuddling with one of the waiters and I didn't think much of it since it was slow (on a Saturday) but he continued to stay there at the hostess stand just holding her and flirting. Disappointing. Ordered a large pizza that was shoved inside 2 small boxes for delivery. The ingredients, crust, everything, disappointing.

So I was heading to one of my regular lunch stops, and saw that Marvinos is now open so I decided to try it. Walking in, the atmosphere is warm and a little classier than the steakhouse next door. Once sat, my very friendly server Jasmine was greeting me and taking my drink order as she passed by to drop off the food at the next table. I perused the menu, noting both the prices and varieties. I was glad they had a lunch menu to offer. I'm not a seafood eater, but I was impressed by their seafood selections. When Jasmine returned, she reviewed the menu with me. I always ask the server what their favorite things are, and love it when they give their actual opinions (instead of saying they've never tried anything or "it depends on what you want"). Jasmine shared one of her favorites is Chicken Nona, and so I ordered it, with the soup of the day, which was tomato basil. The tomato basil soup looked delicious when it arrived. However it was not hot, merely warm, and that is not a good way to eat tomato soup. It had a nice creamy texture, but it was much sweeter than it needed to be. I'd give it a C-. Then the chicken arrived. It looked good. The plate was hot. It was a plump chicken breast on a pile of risotto and spinach. But the thing is, the chicken was bland. The sauce and risotto were tasty. But the chicken was... tasteless. It didn't disgust me. It just didn't delight me. I give it a C. The meal itself was meh. But Jasmine and the staff were extremely diligent, friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere relaxing (and potentially romantic). The staff alone get an A+! I may try it once more for dinner, but the food has to improve if I'm going to pay that kind of money for lunch or dinner. I was initially very impressed upon coming in. Beautiful venue, clean and impressive modernist Italian decor, and a nice and elegant bar area. Sadly, the food and service did not match the quality of the decor of the restaurant. The menu is nebulous, with no cohesiveness and dozens of options all loaded into one page. I ended up ordering a very underwhelming veal Marsala that just looked like a disaster on a plate. The other dishes ordered by my party were bland as well. The service was quite poor, and our server seemed flustered and was not at all friendly. While I love supporting local businesses, the amatuer quality of this restaurant does not match the price point. They need to either lower the prices or raise the standards, as there is much better choices a few exits closer into the city. read more

Went there last night for a take-out Valentines Day dinner. I've been wanting to try this place many times because I pass by it often on my way home from work. Ordered I the Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Italian Wedding Soup, my husband had the Veal Marsala and the Minestrone soup. Alfredo sauce so bland and frothy in my mouth I couldn't eat it. The soup was watered down, no flavor, the meatballs were so pale I was afraid to eat them, my husband spooned me some of the Minestrone soup to taste and the consistency of the soup was so thick in the spoon I didn't even attempt it. My husband who will eat almost anything said the veal was overcooked in addition not cooked correctly, cut up carrots and broccoli in Veal Marsala? The only think I finished was the crème brûlée. Off night perhaps? I might try them again, but not in the near future. read more

I have ordered from Marvino's before, usually with good results. Tonight, I ordered from Uber Eats because they were offering Buy One, Get One Free on wedge salads. When my meal arrived, I began eating my wedge salad and found about a dozen little bugs crawling in it. There were several that were already dead. First the good: The restaurant is very nice and clean. The service is fast. Now the bad... I ordered the Ravioli do Manzo and it tasted like fish. It's not a seafood item, it's ravioli stuffed with pork so wtf. I kindly asked for it to be replaced with something basic like fettuccini Alfredo which was just that, basic. When I got the check the Ravioli wasn't removed (it costs 4$ more). I not the cheapest guy in the world but don't try to finesse people out of their money, that was the last straw. Tonight I was taken for dinner to Marvino's and told I could order anything on the menu I wanted. I selected Ciopinno, which is one of my favorite dishes. Cioppino is a fish stew, a descendant of the various regional fish soups and stews of Italian cooking. Traditionally, its ingredients are crabs, mussels, scallops and tilapia fish. Marvino's served this dish with tiny mussels (nearly microscopic) and a few frozen calamari rings, sans the scallops and tilapia. Where was the crab, the scallops and the tilapia I wondered. For $ 25.00 this dish was a huge disappointment. My guest ordered Linguini Fruiti Di Mar E ("Fruits of the Sea" = mussels, shrimp, scallops and calmari), which she said was overcooked and rubbery. Where was the shellfish? The dish was a plate of pasta with a scant amount of shellfish; certainly not the abundance of "the fruits of the sea" that the recipe requires. Our check for two with wine came to over $ 80.00 and we concurred that both dishes were unfulfilling and not up to par for the prices this restaurant charges. Moreover, our server (Arianna) was a roboserver lacking in charisma and devoid of any understanding of the menu who was merely focused on upselling drinks and desert. Suffice it to say that our dining experiencing was lackluster. I won't be back to Marvino's anytime soon and do not recommend this restaurant for myriad reasons. The Marvino's website proclaims they the following: ITALY IS OUR PASSION...ITALIAN FOOD AND CULTURE! WE ARE INSPIRED BY ITALIAN BEAUTY AND THEIR APPRECIATION AND ZEST FOR LIFE. We had a Christmas Eve dinner at this place and despite the heavy crowd, the server worked quickly and the food surprisingly came out on a timely manner (we had 8 people at the table)! We had the spinach artichoke dip - which was delicious. My dish was the cheesy beef ravioli with the minestrone soup. The ravioli was definitely really cheesy, but the short ribs inside were delicious! Definitely recommended for those who love cheesy food. My husband had the veal Parmesan and really loved it. 04/15/2021 - I wanted to treat my wife and a friend to some good Italian and I thought we would try this place. It has a nice ambience, the salads were fresh, large and pleasing. Our waiter, Chris was professional, My wife ordered the Lasagna, our friend had the Chicken Marvino and I ordered the Liguine Pescatore. I am a retired Hotel and Country Cub Chef, I know good food and how to cook good Italian. I was impressed the large portions, the Lasagna was delicious, the Chicken was tender and the sauce was a delight. My pasta and sauce was very good, the shrimps were plumb and tender, but I was very displeased with the calamari and clams. The calamari was like chewing on a rubber band, I was served 4 unopen clams. They were dead clams. I returned my plate and told Chris that the calamari was extremely over-cooked and told him that calamari cooks very fast saute for not more than 2 minutes & my clams were not fresh. When Chris returned with the new version and it was exactly the same. I called for the manager and he agreed & he would speak with the cook. How can anyone hire a cook who doesn't know how to cook clams or calamari which is on the menu. If I'm going to pay good money for a dish, please, make it edible. read more

Just had dinner here last night and it was disappointing. Hadn't been since the initial opening a few years back, and I remember thinking it was much better then. We we're a group of 11 people and got seated in the separate back room which was appreciated. Our waiter was more than attentive and provided great service. I ordered the lasagna and it honestly wouldn't be surprised if it came from a Stouffer's box. The portion was massive but it was slapped on the plate. Meeting my brother for a quick dinner - knew we'd be fast; plenty of time to be in and out before closing. Our waiter Jose seemed unsure of us - clearly sizing us up when we ordered water to drink. He made it clear in his body language & tone that free ice water wasn't what we should be drinking. We each ordered cheese ravioli with caprese salad starters, no alcohol, no dessert - like I said, it was always meant to be a quick dinner - but as soon as we didn't order alcohol or a pricier main course, Jose might as well have sighed, thrown the menus, and turned on his heel. It was VERY obvious he wasn't pleased with our relatively inexpensive order & the fact we walked in 45 min to close. Then the salads came. He just kind of tossed them in the table and asked if we were good as he was walking away. I tried to be logical; I thought perhaps I was just being sensitive. I looked at my brother "did I imagine that?" I asked him. "Nope." He said as he side eyed Jose & took a big bite. We were hungry, so annoyance was overtaken by the need to eat. "Let it go" I thought. We hurriedly dig into our starters - good thing too, as we were shoveling food in our mouths, the main courses - two bowls of cheese ravioli - were dropped on the table less than 3 minutes after the salads were presented. Ok. We didn't order the fancy stuff & you close at 9:30. We aren't the only people in the restaurant. You aren't closed yet. Give it a rest, man. We get it. Jose walked away to grab the Parmesan grinder. "You want cheese?" "Sure" I mumble through a bite of my salad. He starts to grind over the ravioli I ordered. The grinder sticks. He tries to grind again. It sticks again...and ::cue slow motion:: then a piece of the grinder - a black, plastic cylinder that looked a bit like a thimble - flies off and splat, lands in my ravioli. As I'm processing the situation, "did that just...is he going to..." Jose reaches down with his index finger and plucks the plastic piece out of my food. ...And then Keeps. On. Grinding. My brother and I just look at each other. I'm dumbstruck. My brother is trying not to laugh. "You want cheese?" Jose asks him. "Um. No." He says, stifling a guffaw. Jose then walks off. You drop plastic in my food, retrieve it With. Your. Finger. and we're just calling it good? No way, Jose. I'm about to have a finger of my own for you, sir. It was clear Jose could care less about any of it, and I'm either going to make a scene or I'm just out of luck with the situation. I contemplate all of this as my "finger food" gets cold. "Let it go. It's fine" I say through gritted teeth. I decide to eat everything on the right side of the bowl. I left everything that made direct "plastic" or "finger" contact, or was "plastic" or "finger" contact adjacent in the bowl, "untouched." (Ha. You see what I did there?) We were done eating at 9:18pm. I asked for the check. $42 bill. So...I am paying for my plastic/finger ravioli...am I shocked though? Why should I expect otherwise? Again...I debated. Do I say something? I'm not wrecking the remaining patrons meals. Jose doesn't give a crap that we're here, doesn't care about any of this, & I'm just going to raise my blood pressure trying to teach someone who has no clue that they're indeed clueless. I decided my sanity wasn't worth getting pissed off about the situation and potentially wrecking other people's evenings (But I was already contemplating writing out my thoughts via a social media review. Yeah...I know. It's a passive aggressive move...But here we are.) I paid cash, and even though it galled me, I tipped $18 on that $42 ticket - I know - I should have told Jose to go suck an egg with his poopy attitude, but I reasoned that fighting a bad attitude with another bad attitude just escalated things and solves nothing. So I was passive aggressive (again) tipping almost 50% on horrendous service. We walked in late-ish, but we acknowledged it, ordered fast, and ate quickly. We left with other patrons still eating before the stated closing time of 9:30. Even if we hadn't done that, being openly treated with distain, having my food violated TWICE...And not offering to replace it because, I can only assume, it was too close to closing and you, Jose, didn't want us to stay longer than absolutely necessary?...and then not comp'ing it either because...yeah. I have no idea. I could have demanded better service and not resorted to posting on social media...but should I have to do that? I have to tell you not to be an a-hole, not to put your finger in a patron's dinner, or charge them for it when you do? I have to explain that? Really?! We walked out at 9:25pm, Jose was standing by the door with a gentleman I can only assume was the manager on duty, and he said, in the sweetest, nicest possible voice "thank you, have a very good night." I ordered the tour of Italy? Flavor was good but for the pasta you got two fork fulls of overcooked spaghetti. The steak was good but the chicken is advertised as having jumbo shrimp on top. This was an amazing experience! I was nervous about the dining experience because of the previous reviews but I was impressed. I went during lunch and we were treated quick and ordered our appetizer, the mozzarella sticks were amazing ! Our waiter did seem distracted by a larger group so it felt that he had forgotten about us but the other 2 people who helped him in white were attentive if we needed more drinks or more bread. The chicken and shrimp pasta was delicious, really rich and creamy. I would recommend parsley on top to make the dish really pop out. So my hubby and I go to Galianas often so decided to try their place next door and we are so glad we came to Marvinos yesterday. They bring you bread which was yummy and we ordered the fried zucchini for our appetizer delicious! I recommend it, it was a great portion took some to go to, and I got the Italian wedding soup and my hubby got the fettuccine Alfredo and his came with a salad. Now for dessert! They brought a dessert cart to our table we wanted them all! Lol it is a great yummy selection. The table next to us ordered 3 different ones! This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant!!! We were given a basket of bread that had already been eaten out of! There was a piece buried down in the basket and had a bite out of it with butter on it. When we told the waitress she acted like it was no big deal and took it away. The person that brought us the bread continued to pace by our table at least 20 times back and forth. We called to speak to a manager and he also acted like there was nothing wrong with our experience! I would not go anywhere near this restaurant again! I tried the pepper steak pasta and the lunch special (blackened red drum with a white wine sauce) they were offering. both were really big portions and VERY delicious dishes!! We ordered Marvino's via DoorDash. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, my spouse ordered pizza. The pizza was actually OK. We ordered Cheese, Ham, and Pineapple. The Spaghetti and Meatballs was another story. The Meatballs were, well, gross. Dry and had excess spice. The spaghetti noodles were cooked OK, but there was no tomato sauce. The salad and dressing were OK. Overall, I've had better. BTW ... I am a customer of Galiana's next door. This place needs to learn from Galiana's ... We used to go to Marvinos about once a quarter - but never again. The last two times (4 months apart) we went we ordered veal. The first time the waiter told us they didn't have any bk the meat shipment they received "was rotten" and not fit for human consumption - not how I would describe it when we were about to eat dinner. I commented about the addition of several steaks and that the prices seemed higher - waiter indicated they were trying to reposition themselves as a higher end restaurant with steaks - they failed. They have also changed their complimentary bread - which isn't worth requesting. When we went a second time 4 months later, attempted to order another veal dish and was told they had problems with their supplier and thus had not veal - still meat supplier problems 4 months later. If they were the higher end restaurant that they aspire to be - they should focus on the back of house operations and their meat supplier problems instead of on raising their prices. Also the restaurant seems to always have a strong smell of Fabulosa. The price increases seem to be a common theme at their Dario's restaurant. read more

Just visited here tonight for the first time. It was wonderful. The servers were very helpful and accommodating. The side salad portion was great. My husband and my meal were delicious. Mine was more than enough for two meals. The dessert was also yummy. For two of us the bill was around $70 so not bad at all for a great quality meal and nice atmosphere. The food left alot to be desired. The appetizer, a salmon dip came out with only 4 pieces of garlic toast, so we had to finish the dip with our forks. Ordered the Aragosta fra Diavolo and when the dish arrived the food on the plate did not match the description on the menu. Had the server bring the menu to prove it. He took it back brought a new plate and it was still wrong. The almond crusted coho salmon special (asparagus, crab meat, spinach and lobster ravioli) was correct to the menu but was not a tasty dish at all. The tomato basil soup came out cold. Our server Michael and Jose were great but the food was just not coming out. We waited 20 minutes for bread, then another 25 minutes for the salad and then the entrée came out after 2 hours! Well... I would love to say that I've found my new favorite Italian restaurant but... I can not. I've come here twice. Both times with similar experiences. The first time my food was delicious , yet my boyfriends wasn't. This time it was my turn to have some not so delicious food. It's a shame really. The restaurant itself is so cute. The decor is warm and inviting and not to mention totally italiano. The wait staff and hostess are always very prompt and their customer service is wonderful. It's just the food. The best part of our meals both times has been the bread well, and the wine. I love exploring new restaurants and consider myself quiet the foodie. This time around I had the Lobster Tortellini. The pasta was over or undercooked not quiet sure which but either way not cooked. It was also stuffed with lobster. I love lobster, this tasted like a little lobster mixed with Italian sausage... not good. I set my plate to the side to discuss with my waiter how I didn't it care for the dish but the "busser" cleared it away before I had the chance. We have celebrated my parents birthday at this restaurant, year after year, and I am afraid that this tradition has ended. I am not sure if the management has changed, but we have seen a major decrease in customer service and the food quality. The oil with spices that was given to us had barely any herbs in it, and the waiters didn't seam enthusiastic about her job. He have been ordering pork chops time after time, and they used to be thick and juicy, but now they are dry, overcooked and significantly smaller. Plus, the menu has changed and the pork chop is missing the polenta, and it's not coming with a side included anymore. Now you have to order a separate side order .We did have the fillet mignon too and that was perfectly cooked. read more
