Mary Mahoney's is elegant and charming. The restaurant is housed in a historic home with a New Orleans vibe. The large "Old French House" is part of a cluster of buildings connected by narrow walkways and outdoor courtyards. The main courtyard is shaded by a magnificent 2,000-year-old oak tree. Dining here is upscale, with white tablecloths and a formal table setting. The staff is professional and polished. Many of the guests fit the stereotype of well-established Southern couples whose families span generations of doctors and lawyers. I felt like I had stepped into a great John Grisham novel. I started with an espresso martini, and I have to give the bartender a shout-out--it was exceptionally well made. Our party of four shared the crab claw appetizer, and it was phenomenal. Fresh and lightly fried, each claw was a little celebration. For my entrée, I chose the Queen Ixolib (Biloxi spelled backward): a white fish stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat, served with angel-hair pasta and a perfectly broiled tomato. The fish and stuffing were rich and delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and absolutely a "must-try" in Biloxi.

Wonderful atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. Service was on point, and food was delicious. Loved the chicken & sausage gumbo to start.

Had to stop in to the historic place and soke up the vibe. Very cool! a small bar but we got lucky and got a place not too long after we walked in. Just browsing the back wall was fun. You could feel the history. Ordered a bowl of the World Famous Gourmet Seafood Gumbo*. Really good. Deep flavors. Bread was awesome to clean the bowl with. Bartender was busy as there were a lot of people stopping in the check this place out and try some food. Definitely worth the stop

I highly recommend Mary Mahoney's, I got a salad and Shrimp Etouffe, it's very tasty and rich and perfect for a rainy spring day!! We were seated in a large private room because we came as tour group and they were very diligent with each course and the drinks. I believe the gentlemen that told us some very funny jokes in his Cajun accent was the owner and he was hilarious. The courtyard is beautiful and almost has a mythical feel to it. Give this place a try at least once!!

We have been meaning to come here for some time. It's a large home type feel place with a beautiful garden at the entrance. Daniel took excellent care of us. The seafood gumbo was filled with shrimp and seafood. The filet was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The French stuffed baked potato was loaded and easy to split. We hate it took so long to make it here but we plan on coming back soon

This charming restaurant is old-school wonderful! Quiet with shabby elegance, like a Biloxi restaurant should be! Rooms are small since it's a converted home with wood floors and windows with rippling original glass panels. White tablecloths complete the charm! Our server was wonderful, professional and personable! She knew the dishes, and we went with her recommendations--crab claws for the app and fish specialties for our mains! Everything was delicious with the accompanying angel hair pasta and whole baked tomato as the side! Order the tomato vinaigrette for the salad--fresh and brightly acidic! Desserts were good--bread pudding and pecan praline ice cream sundae! If you're staying at a casino across the street, this restaurant is worth the short walk!

Dining at Mary Mahoney's felt like stepping into a Southern time capsule--charmingly historic with all the hospitality to match. The restaurant is set in a beautifully preserved old home that radiates character and tradition. It's definitely got that classic Southern vibe, right down to the details. My mother uses a wheelchair, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. After checking in at the hostess stand, we were kindly escorted to the accessible back entrance to avoid the stairs. They seated us near the back door, which was also conveniently close to the restrooms--a thoughtful touch that made our visit even more comfortable. Service was outstanding from start to finish. We began with escargot and sautéed crab claws--both delicious, but the escargot's rich, garlicky sauce was hands-down our favorite for bread-dipping. The gumbo was solid, though not the best we had on this trip. My mom ordered the lamb appetizer as her entrée and was pleasantly surprised to find they offered mint jelly--a nice traditional touch. Still, she had a bit of menu envy after tasting my dish. And for good reason--my crab and shrimp-stuffed fish was the star of the night. Rich, perfectly cooked, and packed with Gulf flavor. We shared a side of potatoes that were buttery, creamy, and downright addictive. In the end, it was my favorite meal of our entire trip. Mary Mahoney's delivered an experience that was both nostalgic and memorable, with food and service that hit the mark.

We were in a private room for a party. The service was good enough. Although, our waiter did bypass us when he was getting dessert orders. We didn't even know desserts had been ordered until they all came out. My husband and I both got steaks. The last time we ate here, the fish wasn't very good so we opted for red meat instead. Maybe I should have gotten an appetizer. The steaks were flavorless. Mine was soft and cut beautifully, but just not much flavor. This is a great restaurant with lots of history, so I definitely want to go back when we aren't with such a large group.

What's the dress code for dinner?

Business casual is fine. Honestly you could wear shorts and be fine - I have. This is Biloxi not New Orleans.

I'm a woman who will be traveling alone. I sometimes find upscale restaurants are not welcoming to singles. Can be anybody speak to singles dining at this restaurant?

The bar area is perfect for singles and they will serve a full meal there.

The restaurant itself is really beautiful, very lux looking. Thos hostess was friendly, greeted us as we walked in and made us feel like she was excited about our arrival. We were seated by the window and she placed a birthday sign by the window, which added an extra special touch. Our server was Jessica and she had an attendant assisting her, darn it I don't remember his name, but they both were great. Very professional, yet friendly. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer. Very flavorful and I appreciated it wasn't full of filling. They also gave us chicken salad on a spoon. I believe it was chicken salad. He said to start the palate. I ordered the lamb, my husband ordered the steak and lobster. He wasn't aware it was a small fried lobster, but he enjoyed it. It was a big piece of steak, 14oz, so he had to take the rest home. It came with a sauce that he really enjoyed. The lamb was melt in your mouth, tasty and savory. Seasoned just right! We also had the Brussel Sprouts which were really delicious. I asked for a mocktail, but it wasn't really something that wowed me because I look for creativity and it was just plain. Taste good, but plain, especially the presentation. I was given dessert for my birthday, creme brulee, which Jessica torched right at the table and I must say, it was also delish. The menus were impressive also. Wait! The bread basket was grand with the different types of bread, fried cheese and garlic bulb. I really enjoyed the pretzel bread the best. The restroom was clean and they have these napkins that feel like cloth, felt dignified

Sherbet Ice cream - a great way to cleanse the plate. I would have been okay without it, but I had to get rid of all of the saltiness My total bill ended up being around $140 dollars, plus tip. They had other specials I wanted to try like the surf and turf, but unfortunately the meal would have been way too big for me and I had to have the bill be $120 dollars. The service is excellent, but be prepare to spend over an hour here getting the food. All I can say is just enjoy the view outside. I wish I got the window seat, but I was dining alone and would look weird if I sat at a bigger table. Service was expectational and was well taken care of. I would definitely come back here and dine again, but of course if I had a large dining credit.

You sit down, act like you've been somewhere nice, and enjoy the experience like an adult with standards. BR Prime absolutely delivered. The 28-day dry-aged New York strip was phenomenal. Cooked a perfect medium rare--exactly the way a steak like that should be served. Great crust, incredible flavor, tender all the way through. One of those steaks where after the first bite you just stop talking for a second. The baked potato was fantastic too, and they did it right--it came with every topping you could think of, all laid out in a clean, polished, professional way instead of just tossing stuff on a plate and hoping for the best. The Caesar salad was excellent, and bonus points because they even offer anchovies if you actually know how a Caesar is supposed to be eaten. The mac & cheese was also outstanding--rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth ordering. Their wine and bourbon selection is dangerous in the best possible way. You can tell they take that part of the experience seriously. And the skillet cookie? Easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. No notes. Just order it without chocolate sauce but add caramel sauce. On top of all that, the restaurant was extremely clean and presentable, despite being in a casino and the staff treated us like royalty from start to finish. I have dietary restrictions so I needed to make sure there was something I could eat . So the hostess shows me the menu then disappears. Left us like that and the bartenders at the bar were swamped. We started with drinks:a seduction martini for me, a manhattan for my hubbie, and my son got a paper plane.( It was very strong so he couldn't drink it -was made with bourbon ) I don't think he read the description lol. We let him pick something else and he picked a dessert wine. Are you supposed to have a dessert wine with your meal? Nope do We care not a bit. It's what my boy wanted and We are just trying to get him out of his comfort zone. For apps both my husband and I got the shrimp cocktail. It came iced on the hugest platter I have ever seen! The satchet was actually a lemon so you could squeeze it without getting your hands sticky. For entrees I got the redfish, hubbie got the chef's catch which I personally liked better (It also had homemade pasta! ) and my son got the chicken chasseur he devoured. We got a crème brûlée and they gave me a free cheesecake for my birthday. I appreciated this touch. So what did I think -Our waiter and waitress were friendly, our bellies were so full by the end, and We are glad We tried it. My husband would love to come back for the venison course. This cocktail is sometimes hit or miss, but at Mignon's, it was perfect, with the right amount of absinthe and the glass even absinthe-washed. We shared the fried green tomatoes with domestic Gulf shrimp as an appetizer, and that wound up being my favorite thing on the table. The tomatoes were friend perfectly, but lightly, and the sauce was delicous. The shrimp were amazing! We also shared a bowl of five-cheese onion soup. What can I say? When you put five different cheeses into a deep, rich onion soup, the result is savory scrumptiousness. Steaks were perfectly cooked.
