The prices here are awesome for Morristown. I really enjoy their lunch boxes. I usually get the salmon teriyaki lunch box with fried shumai and spicy salmon roll. We order takeout for dinner from here about twice a week. We like the salmon tempura, volcano, and six flags rolls. My husband also says the salmon sashimi is good. Portions are pretty generous, I always get a bento box because they give you so much. Sweet and friendly staff too.. one time I ordered take out and someone forgot my soup, it was packaged separately from my whole order so they called me to come back and get it. She also was polite and said "did you drive away yet?" (Parking isn't very convenient) I said no I live right upstairs so I'll be right over! But restaurants rarely do that so I was quite surprised and thankful she did that. Good sushi for an AHHHHMAZING price!!!! Always half off (if you pay cash) for dine in or take out! I've done both. Although the inside is a tad bit underwhelming the food makes up for that. Masago is my favorite sushi place in Morristown for both eat-in and delivery. The menu is extensive (all the normal stuff for a sushi/Japanese/hibachi place), and everything is always fresh and delicious. The service for eat-in is terrific - all the ladies are SO nice and are so good with babies and kids. Favorite items include the Volcano Roll, Green Phoenix appetizer, gyoza, and the hibachi vegetables. read more

Every time we order from Masago I am so glad we made that decision. Food made well, reasonably fast. One of the best set ups for pick up during this pandemic that I have ever seen. Within my family there are lovers of the Drunk Man Noodle: it is spicy and tasty, with generous portions. We regularly order the yellowtail dinner box. Fantastic fresh fish, very good rice for the sushi, wonderful side of California Roll. The specialty rolls never fail to please. Unbelievably good unagi don (eel). Not too sweet sauce for the unagi, well seasoned. I have enjoyed the sushi deluxe, again well prepared, generous, and the sushi rice is just right. As for dining in-well reviewing that would not be relevant right now. Once things open up, I could recommend the cozy but pleasant set up, lovely aquarium, etc. But for the purposes of right here, right now, Masago is the way to go for Japanese and Thai food. read more

The food is great for sure. Rudest woman I have ever met working the phones. I called the store and asked her about the half off on the sushi and how much my order would be when I came to pay. She told me the reason my order was so expensive still was because of getting rice on the outside of sushi. I asked her to just put it on the inside then if it was that much extra money. She told me my new total was 3 dollars less than it was. Clearly I was now confused as she told me that it was adding so much money to my total. When I expressed this confusion in a respectful manner, she then proceeded to tell me she was cancelling my order. I told her DO NOT CANCEL MY ORDER. And she hung up the phone on me and immediately canceled my order. I have never experienced costumer service with such a raging angry person on the other side of the phone. Love this place! Honestly, I think the salmon here is the freshest I've had in NJ. I could come here and just eat salmon sashimi, but there's other good stuff to be had. The seaweed tastes good on its own, which adds to the flavor of the sushi rolls. If I had to offer one piece of feedback, it would be to add some more of the traditional vinegar/salt/sugar to the rice. We started going to Masago as soon as it opened. We've been turned off to other sushi restaurants in the area for various reasons (price, service, ambience, cleanliness), so we have been loyal Masago customers since day one! The prices speak for themselves - but the service is even better. The waitstaff is very attentive and we particularly love when Sandy is our waitress. Cherry (at the front) always recognizes my voice when I am ordering take out or delivery! I can tell that they really appreciate our business, and they work hard to make the restaurant what it is. The restaurant itself is very clean and open. Though always busy, I've never had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to sit. It's nice to see that the sushi chefs are busy at any day or time, as the fish is so fresh! The sushi has never let me down, though I have noticed that the size of the fish has gotten smaller recently. The quality and freshness of the fish has not wavered since opening, however. They have a lot of really wonderful combinations in their special rolls and exciting new appetizers. I always go for the sushi dinner. You really can't beat the lunch special.
