We had a great experience! Terri took such wonderful care of us... Extremely knowledgeable, as we aren't very familiar to the cuisine they offer, she was not only friendly but suggested the butter chicken... It was amazing, had a good favor with a nice spicy heat to it. It was late afternoon so it was a little quite but very nice to take in the atmosphere! Well be going back again soon read more

Have been coming to the outer banks for years and just discovered Masala Bay Grill. The food was amazing! We ate outside and the view of the sound was beautiful! We will definitely be back! read more

Please add more paneer pieces to the saag paneer! It was delicious, just not enough to justify the paneer to saag ratio served. The lamb and vegetable samosas were perfect. This wasn't our first visit and certainly won't be our last. read more

This food is nowhere close to actual north indian food. Their Shahi Paneer was very sweet and lacked any kind of spice. Even the salt was missing in the paneer curry. It's over priced for the kind of food being served. read more

Absolutely incredible!! Cannot beat the views, customer service, fresh food, and low wait time. Expect water front dining with the treat of walking down the walkway to literally touch the water afterwards. They even have a garden behind the restaurant where they grow their own spices and vegetables! Please take a break from the average seafood restaurant and try out this delicious restaurant! read more

Great service, everything was delicious. We ordered spicy everything and it was great!! Tried eggplant appetizer WOW! never had anything like it! Wonderful. read more

We made the Outer Banks a vacation destination just to eat here and we weren't disappointed. Everything we ordered was excellent and very fresh. The owner and the wait staff were all very friendly and helpful. You can order any meal mild, medium or hot so those of us who like Indian, but not the heat, can enjoy a delicious meal! We will definitely be back!! read more

This place is not worth your time or money. The level of anger and rudeness that the hostess showed to our group was unparalleled. Not even an attempt at friendliness or kindness. I'm not sure why she's still employed here. I'd recommend this place if you enjoy angry service and lackluster food. There are so many other great restaurants in the area - why waste your time on this one? read more

Finally got a chance to try this place, what a fabulous find! Brooke, our server, was super helpful in explaining the menu items and very attentive. We had ALOO GOBI MASALA, CHICKEN VINDALOO, CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA, all medium heat and GARLIC NAAN BREAD. It was all delicious, the cauliflower and veggies were sooo good that I didn't even eat the rice. Of course the location is perfect, right on the sound and tonight there was a heck of a lightning show so dinner and a "movie". You ABSOLUTELY need to stop in and try this treasure. read more

Nice location and ambience. Food is fine for a tourist location. We have eaten better Indian food and our expectations were built based on what we read about the Chef. Service was great while the food could have more balanced and integrated flavors. read more

WORST FOOD EVER!! I would have argued with them but we took it to go. But we spent 133.00 for garbage. Never wrote a review before but I had to for this place. 1) Shahi Paneer: watery gravy with no salt whatsoever. 2) chicken tikka masala: chicken was way too hard. 3) chicken biryani: I think they just mixed chicken curry with rice. Who does that??? 4) order Spinach item and had chicken in it. It was for my grandma because she is vegetarian Very very disappointed! read more

BEST Indian food hands down! Actually, it was the best dinner I've had in quite a while. We sat on the sound front deck & had great service (ask for Brooke's she was GREAT). I had the Seafood Biryani & the seafood was super fresh & the spice level was perfect. Can't wait to go back! read more

Masala Bay Grill - Seafood Biryani & Seafood Combo Curry were delicious! - Indian Near Me - Point Harbor, North Carolina

Very good Indian Food with a fantastic view. Had a great experience with our large group. A bit pricey, but nothing crazy when you consider it's near the beach (but not at the beach). read more

We were so glad to find this place! We ordered take out here and everyone in the family was pleased to have high quality Indian food in OBX. We will definitely eat here again on our next vacation. read more

The food, service and cleanliness of the restaurant was outstanding! I would highly recommend Masala Bay Grill! Also has a deck with dining with a view of the water. I will definitely go back. read more

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. If you have the chance, stop here. The place is beautiful and clean and the view is breathtaking. I loved the beachy feel being on the water... and the food was delicious. So much flavor! Our waiter was very helpful and informative. They have items clearly marked for vegetarian and vegan. We also tried an Indian beer that was very refreshing. They are great for kids, plenty of high chairs and it's a relaxed atmosphere. Our daughter had a blast eating Indian food with us. We will definitely be returning! read more

Horrible place no hospitality horrible service staff is very rude. Had to call the cops

Update: Outstanding! Go right away! Returned for the best Indian food I've had in ages! Excellent vegan options. I ordered spinach and chickpeas (vegan) and the best garlic naan I've had in my life, also vegan. It came with all the rice we could want. My husband loved the mixed Tandoor grill, but would order chicken tandoor next time, as it is his favorite. Great service, wonderful views and atmosphere. The manager came to talk to us, check on how our meal was. Great staff! And yes, everything is clearly cooked fresh, even fresh herbs. If this restaurant was in D.C., we'd eat at Masala Bay all the time. Earlier review: Outstanding food and wonderful views! This is some of the best Indian food we have had in some time. The chef will also make special food on request, including requested dishes for vegans. We saw the staff picking fresh herbs and veggies in its garden. That fresh! My husband ordered #3 including butter chicken and I ordered saag version often called palak paneer, one of the most popular Indian dishes. The staff was excellent. We were the only customers when we arrived at opening, and we receive great waiter service, fantastic food that was clearly cooked up fresh upon request. This is rates with some of the best Indian food we have had, and we can't wait to return in the spring. My husband plans to order the tandoori chicken and I plan to order vegan chana masala. If this restaurant was in Washington, D.C., we'd be visiting often. read more

This is THE best Indian food I have ever had! Beautiful view of the ocean right out the window and such kind servers. I will make sure to stop here every time I'm in the area. I so highly recommend!! read more

I'm from New Jersey which is popular for Indian food but this restaurant wins the prize hands down. The best papdi Chaat , paneer Tikka , kofta, kababs and chicken entrees. The orange mint and watermelon mojitos were to die for (fresh fruit!). Most of the all , the view cannot be matched , especially during sunset. More serene than the beach !! We have returned with friends many times since the first time we came here ! definitely worth it. read more

I eat Indian food at various Indian restaurant around the United States. This time my family was on vacation in OBX for the July 4th weekend and we wanted to eat some Indian food. When we arrived at Masala Bay I was amazed by the quality of the food and the service. The view was beautiful as you can see the sea from indoors. The only complaint I would have is that the wait time took quit a while. Although it is expected as I think they were cooking the food from scratch. The decor in the restaurant was a mixture of classic beach decor such as the garage windows and outdoor seats with umbrellas and an added Indian vibe with certain decorations. There was Indianish music playing in the background (only instrumental). Overall it created an interesting unique vibe which I had not yet to experienced till my arrival at Masala Bay. They also had a few piers outside of the restaurant I am unsure if it is a part of the restaurant. But it was a very nice place to sit when I was done eating. read more

This restaurant is wonderful! It's in a beautiful location. Wonderful view of the water. Very clean. The wait staff is extremely courteous and attentive. Prices are good and the menu is full of delicious choices. Fast service too. We tried the spinach saag dish with chickpeas, garlic naan and chicken tikka Marsala and it was wonderful. Spiced just right. We will definitely be back when in the Outer Banks. read more

We eat here a lot. A: it's the only Indian joint on the OBX and B: it's tasty!! Service has been hit or miss but I'm not harping on that point because it's a new/ish establishment (i'm sure they'll get those kinks worked out soon). We usually share everything, my husband and I... And normally get samosas, chicken lettuce wraps, shahi Paneer & chicken tikka Masala. We order 2 baskets of the garlic naan now because one basket was never enough (can't leave any of those precious sauces behind!) I do wish they served the crispy bread with three sauces that most Indian places serve before a dinner... That's really the only thing masala bay is missing. If the weather is nice and not too windy ask to eat outside, it's another big plus to dining here! read more

Awesome Indian food & excellent service. Tons of great apps (samosas are to die for) & plenty of entrees to choose from. Really appreciate the vegan options & the fact that they are clearly marked. Indian beers and mixed drinks are awesome & the water views can't be beat. Definitely worth the trip across the bridge if you are staying in OBX! read more

Very good Indian food. Only indian restaurant around kitty hawk and the food wont dissapoint you. Do try the shamsavera kofta. Its appropriately named coz you can eat it anytime. Baigan bharta was also good. My rating for the resraurant is 4 and 1 more star for the view. Anna was very friendly. Vegetarian food rarely makes me happy but the veggie food here falls into the exceptions list. Unfortunately I was not in a mood for non veg food today so I cannot speak to that but I am sure it will be good. read more

We've passed by this restaurant several times on our way to and from the OBX and looked forward to trying it when the opportunity arose. Came here for the first time for a Sunday lunch and was underwhelmed by the taste, quality, and preparation of the food. Chicken wings with mango peri peri sauce: wings had tough meat and did not seem to be adequately tossed in the sauce. Sauce itself was lacking in quality - seemed to come from package. Although we ordered with spice level "hot" the wings came fairly mild. We shared a lamb and chicken lunch special: while the quantity was enough for a pair just wanting light lunch the rice was dry, the naan was under-baked and under salted (I could tear a piece off and roll it back into a dough ball), and the lamb and chicken were also very dry and over cooked. Margarita was delicious. My fiancé ordered a draft beer which had large chunky sediment at the bottom... indicating the draft lines are in need of a serious cleaning. I was highly anticipating the meal because the views and location are absolutely idyllic. I just wished the food was of a higher standard. read more

This place is amazing! Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food is really good, tons of flavor. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Finally we have Indian food in OBX. Very yummy vegan food! Don't forgot gorgeous views!!! Hardly recommend it.

I was on vacay in Currituck and stumbled upon Masala!! What a find!! First, the view is amazing- especially at sunset!! Then everything else lines up:). Service was attentive and friendly and food was excellent!! Their naan was delicious!! I strongly recommend this place and am looking forward to coming back!! read more

This is a great Indian restaurant! Everything on the menu is authentic and has fresh herbs and spices. My family and I got the lamb chops and chicken tikki masala and was incredible. Definitely would recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes authentic Indian food! read more

The view was about the only nice thing about the place. It is a beautiful restaurant but the pictures of the food on the website are extremely miss leading. We ordered a standard chicken curry which came out about 5 minuets from placing our order which I thought a bit strange. The dish itself had to be the greasiest chicken curry I had ever seen. There was little to no flavor and we left extremely disappointed. I don't understand the raving reviews and will not be going back again. read more

Three words: go here now! We recently moved to the area from the suburbs of DC. We are well acquainted with good Indian fare. This stuff rates right up there with some of the best Indian cuisine in the D.C. Metro area. The butter chicken was on point, the veg biriyani rice was perfect, and the Saag with chicken was exceptional! Uber, walk, boat - just get there! PS: ask for Teri - she is a fount if information! So sweet! read more

Another amazing meal! Excellent service and relaxed atmosphere!! Vinadloo chicken medium and tikka tandoori were delicious. You gotta check it out!!! You won't be disappointed. read more

I went to this bayside restaurant while on a writers' retreat with friends. The service was excellent, and the manager attentive. And the food? Magnificent. The rice was light and fluffy, the vegetables crisp and delicious. Three of us had the luncheon chicken platter with chicken curry, chicken korma, and spinach paneer, while the fourth member of our party had the "shrimp cocktail"--grilled shrimp with peppers, onions, and a delicious onion yogurt dipping sauce. Every dish was delicious and seasoned according to our request. Dessert was a milky rice dish with a light, delicate flavor--a perfect ending to the meal. If you're in or near the Outer Banks and want some delicious Indian food, I highly recommend Masala Bay. read more

Amazing new edition to OBX. Chicken vinadloo medium was outstanding. Tandoori chicken, naan, briyani were exceptional. If you don't check it out you are missing out. Service, atmosphere, and meal 5+ stars. read more

SO GOOD! Drove by this place while we were on vacation and decided to give it a try. We were a party of 7 and ordered a variety of dishes and they were all amazing! We had a great experience and almost went back the next night because it was so good! Definitely try it! read more
