When we arrived, I asked if we could sit outside, and the owner had no problem with that. While we were enjoying our meal, one of my friends mentioned that the edamame needed a little more salt. Seeing the owner outside, I politely asked if we could have some salt. To my shock, he suddenly started yelling at me and told me that I was being rude. At first, I thought he was joking, so I responded, "Can you imagine how rude I am to my husband?" His response was completely inappropriate and offensive. He said that if he were my husband, he would slap me on my behind over and over again in a sensual manner and that I would enjoy every moment of it. My friends and I were absolutely stunned. When I asked him to stop and bring us the check, he then said that "you Jews always give me problems." A few minutes later, after I told the waitstaff that I intended to share my experience on GN Mommies, he came over with hot sake to apologize. He even offered to refund our meal, but I declined. I don't want anything from someone who makes hateful remarks about Jews. After living in Great Neck for 40 years, I have never experienced anything like this. As a Jewish resident, I was deeply offended by both the inappropriate sexual comments and the anti-Semitic remark. I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

The entire staff has always been attentive, courteous, and welcoming. Tonight, we had Johnny, Alex, and Miki, who worked very well together. Everything flowed seamlessly, and they made us feel truly valued and well taken care of. The food is consistently good, as are the drinks. Tonight, we shared a House Mule, which was refreshing, delicious, and a great way to start our meal. For dinner, I had the Crunchy Seafood Fried Rice without XO sauce and the Buddha's Claypot, a vegetable dish. Hubby had the General Tso Chicken. The fish pieces it came with were generous sized portions and this bowl was loaded with vegetables. Wood ear, mushrooms, cabbage, sliced white radish, and bean curd skin. It also has a few slices of spam (which I did order extra so I'm not sure if the normal is two slices). We also tried the pan fried pork gyoza which was perfectly fried on each side. Nice color. Taiwanese pork as a side comes with one pc per order. The fried chicken appetizer could use a little more spices but the chicken was so tender and very juicy. I liked it a lot. It does come with a dipping sauce which helps but I didn't use it much. All in all a good spot for take out but the menu will need to be expanded in order to have longevity. I got a call from the restaurant 2.5 hrs. prior to my reservation time, telling me that there is a conflict, they have a party booked for that room tonight so we couldn't use the party room. When I questioned how that was possible since I booked the room over 3 weeks in advance, I was told that the person who booked my dinner was unaware that they were in negotiations with this other party, that they hadn't received a down payment yet from them and that was why it wasn't in the computer. I was told that this was a $120/head party with open bar. I found the entire story to be sketchy and difficult to believe. Because it was so close to the time of our group's dinner, I had no choice but to allow them to set us up at a table in the middle of the restaurant. While they did a nice job setting up the table with tablecloths and making it nice, this did not meet the needs of our group at all. This is a group that meets monthly and who like to socialize with each other after dinner, change seats around and chat with each other. Being in the middle of the restaurant it was impossible for us to do this. The party room would have been perfect. The restaurant closed at 10 pm the day we were there. I left at 8pm and there was still no one in the party room, so I feel the story given to me was made up and there was no big party being held in that room on that evening. They likely did not want to use that space, perhaps staffing or some other reason. I would have preferred to be told the truth; it would have sat much better with me than the story I was told. I also did not believe that they had the possibility of a big party and it wasn't in the computer for the staff to be aware that the room would possibly be occupied that night. The food was good, although two of our group said their dish was cold. Sushi was fresh. Service was good, staff was attentive. I am definitely never going to use this restaurant again to book our group dinner, but I might go again for a lunch or possibly a dinner with just a couple of other people. I'm very disappointed in how they changed my reservation at the last minute, and the party room remained empty the entire evening.

So as we tried to get our own rolls out to eat, it soon became like one container of fried rice - except it wasn't fried - just a mess of rice with toppings.
