10/29/20 1st visit to MasFajitas. New resident to Georgetown. We've assed this restaurant several times and the parking lot is always full. We decided tonight was the night to find out why ? So my wife and I decided to brave any wait time and try it. We had a wonderful time. ( no wait at all ) Upon entering, we received a warm greeting from Fernando. He was very engaging. Next we had the pleasure of meeting our waiter named Eric. We received excellent service from our waiter, We experienced Great food and drink. All and all we had a memorable night. We will definitely be visiting this establishment on a reoccurring basis. At first I was concerned this wouldn't be a pleasant meal because I was ignored for about 15 mins when the couple who walked in with me already had drinks from the bar. But they made it up to me. Server was great and food was delicious! They gave me a discount at the end because of the beginning but they didn't have to. From the moment we were greeted at the door, we knew we had come to the right place for our Friday night dinner! Since moving from LA husband and I had been on the search for decent Mexican food, and I say "decent because it would be unrealistic to hold Texas to the same standards as the amazing Mexican food in LA. So after driving by masfajitas a few times we caved in and what a lovely surprise that was! My husband ordered a burrito which came out just as he was hoping I ordered a ceviche tostada which was well seasoned and some asada tacos which were flavorful ! Our waitress Gaby was also a big part of our amazing experience, she was so polite and insightful regarding the flavors we were looking for. Can't wait to go back!. Four of us have been going to Mas Fajitas since it opened several years ago. The prices have gone up up up and the food and service has gone way Down. The tostados have not been fresh the last 3 times we have been there. The waiter completely got my order wrong the last time we were there(last week). I don't know what the rave is about its alright its not the worst mexican food I've ever tasted, buts it not the best i asked for home made tortillas and they brought me store bought flour tortillas. P.S you can taste the difference. The enchiladas i am definitely avoiding next time. (Disclaimer- this is my opinion of the restaurant and should not sway your choice to eat here. I personally am not a fan of the dish i had today and the the store bought flour tortillas.) We already love this place. It's one of our go to places and we never have anything bad to say. Tonight was a busy and difficult night for them. The weather is icy and cold which is why a lot of the staff didn't make it...Leaving only 2 servers and I'm not sure who or how many in the kitchen. Even still our waiter Weston was on top of it. He kept our drinks topped off and our order was just right. I don't know the cooks name or I would give him/her a shout out too. He/she is awesome. Food is hot and perfect. First I would like to say the food is amazing . The wait staff has alot to be desired... Our waitress Amanda was very snooty and very unattended. We had to wait forever for drinks and then on refills. When we asked for extra napkins and silverware, she acted as if we were putting her out. Not sure that we will return due to this. We've eaten at MasFajitas numerous times. The last time may indeed be the last. The food was as expected, no complaints there. However the margaritas were significantly lacking in that key ingredient...tequila! I am a light drinker, so one large is about all I can do. I didn't have even the slightest buzz. Everyone else commented on the same thing, that there was very little alcohol in them. And they charge $12 for each large one. Nope. read more

Had a great experience with my family this evening at MasFajitas. It has always been decent food, but had not been a stand-out. It appears to be under new management...we were visited by the manager, which we always appreciate. Our server Jason was nothing short of outstanding, and made it a very good experience. This is a great Mexican restaurant in the area!! Their margaritas and other drinks are strong, delish and are at really good prices. I started with a margarita on the rocks and finished it way quicker than I normally would just because it was that good! The chips and salsa are good. The salsa is really tasty but we did add a little salt to our chips. I ordered the fried avocado with chicken and LOVED it. It was a perfect sized and green avocado with delicious flavor and filled to the brim with chicken and cheese. The batter was good but a little thick for me. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas and they were average enchiladas!! I would definitely visit if you're in Georgetown and want some Mexican food or a good margarita. First of all we are in Texas so at least have a hostess that not only speaks English but understands English,we have really tried to like this place we went in tonight for taco Tuesday, the young lady so called hostess, could not understand English and could not speak it very well either this is not the first time this has happened and we have complained in the past also they have done some remodeling but they need to concentrate on cleanliness the tables are never clean and the floor is always dirty not very enticing when you're there to eat a meal so needless to say after trying to interpret to the young lady at the front, we finally gave up and went across the street to Mariachis De Jalisco what a pleasant surprise a friendly hostess that spoke English with a smile on her face ready to escort us to our clean table shortly after that, our waitress arrived to take our drink order and promptly return to take our food order. I will give the food at 10 out of 10 and the service a 10 out of 10 I want to give the restaurant a 10 out of 10 for professionalism and cleanliness. Our journey has ended. 2nd time there. Gave it a chance before giving a review. First I had the fajita chicken. That turned out very limp, best way to put it. Undercooked vegetables and chicken wasn't grilled Second time I got bad service. Plus bad food again. This time it was the Mexican salad it was called. The ranch sauce was very bland and tart. The tortilla bowl was saturated with grease so I couldn't even eat it. The insides with chicken was very watery. So each is to own. I don't recommend this location. Hadn't been here since it was La Plays a few years back, came in town and went to the remake version MasFajitas. The salsa was fresh and great, even had a little kick which is hard to find for a pepperhead like myself. The draft beer was good and clean, the service was top notch and the manger even came by to check on us. If you are looking a for a good TexMex place, go here, it's worth a try for sure! read more

We're new to the area and felt like having some Mexican. So we searched Yelp and found many options including this...place. When we walked in the hostess ignored us completely. After about 5 mins a waIter noticed us and asked if we were being helped. We said no and he apologized several times. He then made the hostess de eat us immediately and he once again apologized. This is where they got any stars! We sat at a table and ordered. The chips and salsa were good. We both ordered the steak ranchero. What came was not steak. It was boiled fajita beef that was flavored with McCormick seasoning! There was an unusual amount of "juice" on the plate so almost everything was swimming. We also got a side of guacamole. It got weirder here. I've never had guac with lettuce in it.....still not sure what the hell that was all about! MasFajitas is still a solid four star in my opinion. It's clean and doesn't smell like dirty mop water as I walk in the door like a few other places around town. The salsa is excellent. The chips can hit and miss. They are good and crispy at times and then some will be hard. I haven't figured out what's going on there yet. But for the most part they are good. The queso is a simple yellow cheese queso and it is really good quality. Not the cheap stuff that tastes like it from a jar and heated up in the microwave. They had dollar tacos last night, al la cart. Regular hard shell tacos with beef or shredded chicken are a dollar. If you order a soft taco or fajita meat then the price goes up $.75 or a $1 respectively. I ordered one crunchy beef and one soft chicken. Both were absolutely fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients are very fresh and have excellent flavor. My companions both ordered the beef tamale dinner. Not complaints from them. They loved it. Our only complaint for MasFajitas were the sopapillas. They were tiny and over cooked. We had to use our steak knives to cut them. Chewing them took some serious energy! Lol. So I stopped after one bite. Maybe it was just an off night for sopapillas? Not sure but the rest of the meal was fantastic. The atmosphere was fun, not too loud, not too quiet. It was a fun time. Fun atmosphere and solid margaritas! I live for their chimichanga; it's the best I've had anywhere. When I don't order the chimichanga (with queso on it), I get the fried avocado tacos or the chicken avocado enchiladas with sour cream sauce. The service is always great and I appreciate that they never play the news at the bar. It's nice to take a mental break and get away from all that while out for a meal! read more

Cons - Tortilla soup was much greasier than your traditional broth based soup. Nominal amount of chicken, even when you specially request its inclusion. Salsa was ok, not great. Salsa was almost sweet with very little spiciness to it. Ordered Diet Coke....was given Coke Zero (which is not the same drink). So maybe service could be better. There are better places in town. Chips and salsa were a big hit and we bought a jar of salsa to take home. All the food was wonderful. They have many gluten free options which I was very thankful for. Steak fajitas for two. Enough food for 3 or 4. Deliciously seasoned tender steak, sautéed onions and bell peppers. Fantastic beans with bacon (forgot the name). Very good guacamole and pico de Gallo. Great tortillas. (Chips and spicy salsa arrive at seating). Good for families. No problem seating my dad who uses a walker. Plenty of parking but wish there were 4 handicap spaces. Reservations not necessary. Food arrives quickly and hot. Great unsweetened iced tea. Very clean. Wonderful waiter. My only negative - the out dated decor which is why I think it's better for groups or people with kids; not a date restaurant. Wish there was an order out menu. read more

Our 1st time to this restaurant and will definitely not be out last. The decor and seating arrangements were great. Not the typical crowded seating. Enough room between tables to be comfortable visiting with our party. The staff was friendly, smiling and welcoming. Our server, Lyndon, was very attentive without being invasive. This place has the best fajitas! I always get their Spicy Cowboy fajitas which is a mix of chicken, steak, and sausage with spicy additions. Their chips and salsa are excellent. I called in a to go order, and asked about the chicken tortilla soup. I asked specifically if it's the chicken broth-y soup, or the tomato based soup. I even explained I have a head cold and want/need the chicken broth. I was told it's the chicken broth type. WRONG!!! what I was given was the blandest soup I've ever had in my life from a Mexican diner. Tomato based with zucchini, carrots, celery, a piece of green pepper and onion in it. What is zucchini doing in tortilla soup? An excessive amount of zucchini too. They added chicken for an extra dollar and what I got were two very small pieces of dark meat. The soup filled one cereal bowl and came in a styrofoam drink cup for $6.99. This soup has no zing in it - none whatsoever. Pretty disappointing. I was hoping for the 'this'll cure ya" chicken soup. What a pleasant surprise. I flew in from California to visit family and they kept saying they wanted to take me to MasFajitas. I resisted because really good Mexican food is next to non-existent in Texas. Tex-Mex is not the same. Anyway, I digress, I finally gave in and we all went for dinner. Due to my stubborness, I was determined not to order anything on the menu that was Tex or Mex. I ordered the mushroom bacon cheeseburger. Was I surprised and overjoyed when the burger came. It was one of the best damn burgers I have ever eaten, anywhere in the world! My brother-in-law got the catfish. Seriously? Catfish (in a not Mex plate)? Again, the best catfish I have had in a very long time. I can still taste the deliciousness. Mmmmm. Catfish Parlour, forget it....this is the place to get really good catfish! Mom got the chile rellano, it was also good. :) Sis got some kind of nachos combo thing that was pretty damn good too. Yes, I taste everyone's food.
