Update: Worst service ever. Cold clumpy queso. No manager to be seen even after I made it a point to voice how rude and awful we had been treated. But my son snapped this shot of the wonderful staff. :Thank you for responding. I simply would like the matter to be addressed aggressively so that it never happens to another family. My son is autistic and behaves differently and we strive everyday to help him adjust to society but society must be aware of not harder to handle guests but guests who require a little extra effort on their part. Had the weirdest experience here on Friday. The whole time, all the servers, expect the wonderful lady who served our table, appeared as if they were very unhappy to be there. The two behind the host stand glared at everyone who came through the door. They seated us without menus and then we waited for a good 5 minutes before we got them, after having to ask. In particular, the girl at the hostess station was throwing shade all night. I get that some jobs suck but hey, that's your gig, so you know, suck it up buttercup. The rest of the waitstaff congregated by the kitchen and stared out amongst the unserved tables the entire time we were there and rarely checked on their tables. It wasn't even that busy but no one except our waitress appeared to be busting their hump. When our dishes were served, the servers put all the plates in front of the wrong people. One plate was super hot and the server just sort of pushed it down the table and I had to pull it towards me. He was like, "Whatever." It was truly the weirdest service experience I've ever had at a restaurant in the Austin area. As for the food, it was tasty, well prepared and the portions were huge. The chicken & shrimp plate was a standout as was the quesadilla appetizer (spinach & mushrooms - lovely). Drinks were tasty, margaritas were big & served fast. So, A for food, F for weird service. Order to pick up. Poor girl by herself while trying to field online orders & delivery orders. Saw one staff just on her phone holding the wall up. Food came without any of our sides, to be honest I helped bag my own food & had been waiting an additional 45 mins so I didn't even look at what I was putting in the bags. Just ready to leave. & it really wouldn't have mattered it would've taken another 45 mins to get beans & rice. The tortilla soup had to have been the worst I've had ever tasteless, no really no flavor for a soup that's should be loaded with flavor. Just stop at Chick-fil-A on your way home there's is better. The fajitas we ordered was a slab of meat that we had to cut ourselves. None of the "fixings" came with, again in a rush didn't check. In fact, there are places that charge more that don't have the quality MasFajitas does. A really solid run restaurant where the employees actually care. Downer that the food quality was low end. I ordered a margarita on a margarita Wednesday special and I declined my drink once i tried it. The waitress insisted on getting another margarita for me but i looked who was the bartender and he looked 15 years old (no exerience). Me being old enough, I noticed they did not put any tequila in my Margarita. It had only triple sec and margarita syrup. Loved the chips & salsa. So much flavor and the salsa had a nice spicy kick! Also enjoyed the rice & beans that came with my entree. Rice was cooked well and beans tasted homemade and had a great consistency to them. The entree itself was disappointing. I got the shrimp dish with sautéed veggies and the shrimp were small and lacked texture and flavor, and though everything was swimming in a sauce it was thin and I couldn't taste any seasonings. First time eating here and we enjoyed our food; carnitas enchiladas w/ verde sauce and spinach & mushroom enchiladas (plus shrimp) were good. Our waiter, David M., who had only been working for 3 weeks was EXCELLENT. He told us about the menu and drink specials and offered suggestions. He even told us about the daily drink specials to encourage us to come back again. After the meal, he offered dessert. I'm used to this at mod-high end restaurants but didn't expect that here. FINALLY! I have been in looking for a place that does not use American cheese in their cheese enchiladas for about 14 years since moving to Texas. I have finally found it! MasFajitas (in Round Rock) uses a mix of Colby and Monterey Jack. The enchiladas were SO GOOD! So cheesy. I also had a crispy beef taco and my daughter had the chicken flautas. The flautas were excellent. So many other places just have the meat and the tortilla rolled up and deep-fried, but MasFajitas adds cheese too; so delicious. Wes was our server and he was polite and friendly. I believe the manager also stopped by our table to see how we were doing. It was lunchtime, so the restaurant wasn't very busy. Chips: Wow. These are thin, crispy, hot-out-of-the-oil chips. The best we've had so far! Fajitas: Wow. We had the family platter with chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, and veggies. The chicken was the most tender grilled chicken I've ever had. I'd eat an entire platter of just that chicken. I'm not a big fan of beef, but my husband and daughter also agreed the steak was tender and fell apart with a fork. The pork was really good, too. The seasoning on the shrimp was really good, and I love the grilled onions. The fajitas are described as for two, but we fed two adults and two children and still have enough for at least one lunch for two left. Fast friendly service and our sodas and water was never even close to empty before they were filled again. Server apologized that she did not know our table was assigned to her once we asked for help. Don't hold that against Estella cause she was honest and attentive once she knew about us. If you have not visited this location you must! The food was fantastic and Victoria our waitress was very attentive. I can not say enough about the food but most of all the service. So I'm a big Mas Fajitas fan. I used to go to their locations in Taylor and Killeen area regularly. I have been to this location for lunch and usually just get a salad to go. I brought my wife here because she wanted good Mexican food tonight. I'm guessing they are just going through growing pains? or maybe the staff is not fully trained yet? It was definitely not as good as the other locations. The chips and salsa came out in a dirty basket. The bottom was covered in sour cream and old tortillas. The soup was cold. There were only 2 slices of avocado in the fried stuffed avocado (about 1/4 of an avocado in whole). The meat on top of the salad was cold (shrimp and chicken....not even luke warm), and the fried ice cream coating was soggy, and the tortilla it was sitting on was stale. Again...new location, I'm hoping it is just "new location" blues, but really disappointing. read more
