I. Love. Mexican. Food. And, while this is so... Masfajitas for me, was nothing spectacular. I hate writing reviews that aren't happy ones, but ...... Was it bad? No, not at all. Was the customer service poor? No. Was it dirty or buggy? Nope. It just was mediocre imo. Food was less than authentic, I felt. My kids burgers looked pretty good, nice and charred. One had a kids taco plate, and the tortilla was deliciously pan fried first, but the rice looks pretty generic, as did the beans. We had all versions of them too.. refried, charro and black. My chicken enchiladas were good, but they weren't "DAMN THESE ARE SO GOOD I'M COMIN BACK HERE FOR MORE".. The verde sauce looked straight from a can. My daughters cheese on her burrito looked straight from a can. I went a month or so back and had HH with a girlfriend, and I wasn't too impressed with their margarita either. So.. yeah. I had lunch for the first time at the new MasFajitas on Joe Dimagio Blvd (Hwy 79) in Round Rock. I ordered the Chicken Avocado Enchiladas and they were very good and the wait staff and greeter were all very friendly. The new place was very clean. This order comes with a cheese sauce which is very good, however the cook did not put very much on the enchiladas, so I asked the waitress for a little more sauce while I was half way through. She brought it and I finished, all of it. Again, very good. However, after I signed the bill and was leaving, I noticed that I was charged $1.99 for the sauce I asked for. This is just a nit, but if there wasn't enough sauce to begin with, why would I be charged for the 2 oz container if sauce. Also, if they felt they needed to charge me for it, they should have said that there would be a charge for it. Will this cause me not to go back, no, but I felt MasFajitas should be aware of this, and any customers who might ask for more sauce! If the sauce charge didn't happen, they would have received 5 stars. read more

I came here last week and found what I thought was mold on a chip, after it had been deep fried. I had the taco salad for lunch. This place reminds me of Rosa's Cafe, just not as good. I'm writing this review as a reminder to myself not to return. Note on the chip. When fresh tortillas develop mold, there's a green or bluish color although some can be the same color of the tortilla. Maybe it's the temperature or humidity accelerating this? Then when it's fried, these spots stand out. Maybe a sniff test, or visual test, before you start cutting those awesome triangles, that are optimal for dipping! read more

Very good. Much better than I expected! We ordered the Caldwell Fajitas. They were a mix of the beef, chicken, and shrimp with peppers and onions. They were super tender and had a marinade on them. Not your typical fajitas but I'd definitely get them again. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty and the server was nice and accommodating. We dined in over the weekend. Most of the staff including the General Manager had masks on but not covering their faces. But more so using the masks as chin straps. My family has dined with MasFajitas several times now so a review is long overdue. The food is consistently good and prices reasonable. Some of our favorites are the stuffed deep fried avocado, which comes with a cheese enchilada (genius!), rice and beans. Tacos are 99 cents on Tuesdays and margaritas $2.99 on Wednesdays. Servers are always friendly and each time we have been here, the manager comes by our table to say hi to our baby and ask how the food was. So why three stars? We've been overcharged the past FOUR times we've come here. Four visits ago we were charged for three entrees instead of two when we did curbside pickup. Then the next two visits, we were charged more for a mixed drink than what was advertised on the menu. Tonight, we were told by the server that both hard and soft shell tacos were 99 cents. I verified by asking "I thought that only hard shell tacos were on special" but he assured me it applied to both. When he showed up at our table to close out the bill, he looked at his terminal and turned around. Came back a few minutes later but didn't show me the whole screen...just the portion with the 99 cent tacos. I sensed something fishy was going on and emailed myself a receipt and saw that sure enough, I was charged an extra $2.75 for an ala cart taco besides the five we had ordered on special. We had to wait an extra ten minutes to flag down the server, he had to contact his manager, who then told me that the special did not apply to soft shell tacos and that was the reason for the extra charge but he would take care of it this time because we were misinformed. I feel like what likely happened is that the server turned around when he discovered we were being charged more for the soft shells, found out he was mistaken after asking a colleague and then tried to sneak it by me by only displaying the 99 cent tacos and making up the difference with a separate charge. So...idk. The food is good but make sure you scrutinize the bill and email yourself a copy since they don't provide it on paper. read more

I'm a frequent visitor at this location. I've never had a bad meal or poor service here. The wait staff is friendly and the managers make the rounds to check on the customers usually at some point. Looking for a dine-in place during the reopening stage and this little gem was open and accepting dine-in customers. We were the only one there, so we were wondering if they were open. Others arrived shortly after we began to eat. The food was good. The chips were good, but the salsa wasn't spicy enough, however, it's mild enough for everyone. We didn't order the queso. Where I'm originally from, we just have chips and salsa or guac...queso's a TX thing. We ordered from the lunch menu. Serving size was good. Service was attentive as it could be, however, we had to ask for silverware. Their Charro beans were good, however, a little on the salty side. Needless to say, we'll be back. It was pretty delicious and not much of a Tex-Mex kind of place, which is what we're always looking for. Their flavors tasted authentic.
