First off the manager is an ass!! We waited for 30 minutes for a table and after there was 6 four tops open I simply asked if they could push the tables together to make room for our party of 8! The host said sure, then the manager came over and said no they didn't want to do that because we would be crowded... At that point we didn't care. We just wanted to take a seat. He then still refused to sit us there and said in his own words..."I would like to see your dad (big guy) for behind there" Are you kidding me? Did you really just say that about my father?.... Wow!!! And he was smiling about it. Never apologized! We ended up walking out. Sorry but how LOW of you to say that about one of your customers... Living in the Austin, TX area you'd think there are lots if choices for tex-mex. However in my suburd there's only a handful- with Masfajitas being one. This place is pretty good, and I saw that you could order 'to-go' through yelp so I figured wht not try it again. The ordering process was excellent! We had some queso con carne, beef enchiladas, and shrimp cocktail. The enchiladas and shrimp cocktail were great, with the shrimp cocktail loaded with avocado and shrimp. The enchiladas had great flavor and texture but the chips were stale and the queso was too runny. Keep expectations at a minimum and you'll be happily surprised. read more

Live close by and thought about stopping by many times. Finally did and glad I did. I actually ordered online and went to pick up the to go food. So can't speak for the Resturant service. My husband, mother and I went up to meet some friends for karaoke here recently. - Food: The food was very good. Decent portions and reasonable prices. - Karaoke: Easily the best part of the entire evening. Even though the KJ didn't have his books with him, he went out of his way to make sure that people had the songs they wanted to sing... even to the point of downloading one of the songs I requested for me to sing. - Wait staff: Ok... this is what has me wavering between a 2-star and a 3-star review. The waiter was cute, which I'm sure he's well aware of. He had two tables while we were there. Both tables were 6+ tops (yes, I've waited tables and worked in restaurants before - nowhere near Taylor, though). Both tables had multiple tickets and people who were eating and drinking. Where did our adorable waiter spend most of his time? At the other table. My husband wanted to order their ice cream taco for desert after his meal and we couldn't get the waiter to come back until after the kitchen had closed! My mom managed (somehow) to talk him into fixing the desert for him, but it didn't quite look as nice as the one we saw when we arrived that brought it to his attention in the first place. That isn't even the worst of it though.... every time the waiter came anywhere near me, I had to hold my breath... he STANK!! The young man smelled like he'd been out working in the hot sun for a week without bathing! I also asked, at my mother's request, if she could add $5 on her tab to give a tip to the KJ. He went to speak to the owner and came back with a negative response because "the KJ doesn't accept credit cards." Need I go further? read more

I brought my wife here for Mother's Day. We were meeting someone to pick up a playhouse for our grandson. We at lunch here. We ordered our food and waited a good while, about 35 minutes, before we received our plates. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and my wife the chicken avocado enchiladas. I started eating my shrimp enchiladas after about 4 bites i removed a piece of steel from my mouth. It was from a steel kitchen scrubber. I contacted a waitress and told them about it. She took it back and the a manager returned. He said he was sorry and did I want another plate. I told him yes on another plate. My wife's chicken enchiladas had no avocado in side only on top. Plus the chicken was very dry. After we were done eating we had to wait a good while before we received our check. I looked at the check and paid it. There was no discount or free entree or even an apology from the waitress. We drove all the way from North Austin to eat here. This was one of the worst experiences we have had. First time I went there it was good. Second time (and last time) I went there it took the waitress 15 minutes to greet us and take our drink orders. Drinks came 35 minutes later... only a few minutes before our food came. My friend got the wrong order, took them another 15 minutes to fix it and it was still wrong. They took it back and by the time we were finished eating (he told us to eat without him) he STILL didn't get his food. It was a simple beef enchiladas.. not too complicated! Completely AWFUL service! We used the online ordering system to Pre-order our food. Their estimate for how long it would take was over an HOUR off! We waited over an hour and NEVER even got our food and had to demand our money back! Our order was over $75! Please DO NOT waste your time or money here! There are many other Mexican food options in the area who have MUCH better food and MUCH better service! Check out Rio Grande in Hutto! Great takeout service and online ordering! Solid 4.5 stars! We were pleasantly surprised as we were driving through Taylor and looking for something reasonable for dinner. The service was on point and our food came out very quickly. The salsa was fresh and tasted almost like my husbands homemade version with a good balance of tomato and heat. The only negative was the beef was chewy on the fajitas but the chicken was great and we ordered fajitas for 2 and they loaded us up each with a plate of toppings, rice and beans. This is hands down my favorite restaurant, Mexican food or otherwise. We only eat out once a week and when we moved to Thrall last summer and discovered this place we ate there every Friday for almost three months! Even on our anniversary my husband offered anywhere I wanted to go and MasFajitas was all I wanted! Every server we've had has been excellent and polite. The manager has checked on us several times and is super friendly. The queso compuesto and the frozen margaritas are the best I've ever had. The salsa unfortunately is too hot for me but the flavor is great. I've literally never ordered anything but the cheese enchiladas because I'm obsessed! My husband however has gotten something different almost every time and everything has been just as fantastic. I've been working in the Taylor area this week and have eaten here twice. Had the Enchiladas Verde and the sauce was great! Good and fresh chips and salsa. My husband has been wanting to try this place for awhile and we finally did a few days ago. The service was slow despite not being very busy. The chips went unfilled. The drinks went empty. The salsa was absolutely inedibly bad. The food took so long to arrive that our conversation ended and I just played on my phone. Needless to say I was not expecting good things from our meal. In fact, I had pretty much already planned out my "well, can we consider your curiosity satisfied?" good-natured in-your-face to my husband for after lunch. Yet notice my 4 star review. It overcame. This is HANDS DOWN the most amazing Mexican food I've eaten in years. RIDICULOUSLY good. The sauces and seasonings were flavorful and spot on. The rice and beans were perfect. The meats...oh my. They must have a charcoal grill out back, because they tasted like heaven. No really- I was a vegetarian for the better part of a decade and usually don't care about meat whatsoever. Not the case this time. INSANELY good! I had the Spicy Enchilada Duo and it was perfection. Perfectly spiced and seasoned. My husband and children also enjoyed their meals, but I was honestly too busy enjoying my food to pay much attention! I'm impressed- and I'm sure we'll return. Often.
