Will never return! Took out of town company to Winghaven Massa's this evening. Not clean. Newer server but she was very inexperienced with basic drinks and pronunciation. The food was sub par..3 ordered chicken recipes.. the chicken breasts were like thick clumps just thrown in, unprepared! The broccoli was not prepped..huge clump! The red bolognese sauce was poor...not Italian tasting. OMG ..they only offer 2 desserts: brownies and gooey butter..they tasted like 99 cent box brownies..fell apart..and the gooey butter was thin and not st.louis style. What a waste! Smokers on patio affected our table as well. Will never go here again!!! Atmosphere was not good..not very cleanly. Tried to make reservation and they do not even answer their phone and don't care! Ordered the Cajun pasta for carry out the other night. Pasta and sauce was okay, however the chicken was absolutely disgusting. Very dry and chewy, tasted undercooked as well. I recently had to make a very last minute bulk order and Tony and the team were a breeze to work with. Even provided serving dishes and supplies we needed. All the guests greatly enjoyed the food and due to the great assistance everyone got plenty to eat and food was hot. They had everything ready right when we needed it too. Horrible service. We waited 10 minutes for our server to even come up to us, and we literally ordered toasted ravs and salads. the ravs took at least 10 minutes to come out and the food runner asked us if we wanted plates. he totally forgot about us and never brought us the plates. we came in at 8:40 and didnt get our salads until 9:20!!!! everyone at the table works in the food service, and we all know that salads take 5 minutes MAX to throw together. we asked our server and she claimed they "ran out of lettuce" and "had to chop lettuce" which is why it was taking so long. 40 minutes to chop lettuce? yeah right. finally, when we did get our salads, they forgot my chicken on the salad, and my friend's salad was basically just cheese. overall, not a good experience, and they really arent taking the right precautions for covid. read more

It was decent. We got the fried artichoke hearts with the sauce which was excellent, however my tutto mare's sauce was a bit on the runny side, and my friend didn't enjoy the lasagna. On top of this they kept the door open to the patio so flies were able to get in. This proved distracting while trying to eat...Service was ok as well. This Massa's is interesting. The inside looks a little outdated and cluttered. They have a fairly large bar and pretty big outside patio that is covered in the winter and it has heaters in it. The last time we were here we ordered the lunch pasta special. On that particular day it was a tortellini in a cajun-like cream sauce. It was pretty good, but nothing to rave about. It also comes with a side salad. I ordered mine with the house dressing and it's like a creamy Italian. It was fresh and very good. For the price of 9.95 for a salad and pasta, I can't complain too much. However, I will say the service was pretty spotty. Right when we sat down we got to order our drinks, and the service seemed promising. But then the server was just hanging out with the bartenders and didn't come back for a long time. I was pretty close to just getting up and getting her attention, but thankfully she ended up coming to take our order. Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quick. read more

The absolute worse experience in a restaurant ever. Went for our daughter's birthday on a weeknight. Poor service, slow service; took over an hour to get our orders. Orders were not correct. I requested no butter on the broccoli and when it was brought out I asked if if was "no butter". He said yes and clearly it wasn't. I poured it off into my empty glass and it was all butter! My steak was stone cold and I had ordered it Medium rare. They took the steak that I had sampled and put it back on the grill. Thirty minutes later, the exact steak that I had sampled was returned to me. Now it is tough and overcooked. I had it removed from my bill and did not eat dinner. The other people at our table also had problems. Took us over 2 1/2 hours to get out of there. I have always had trouble with this location but thought we would give it another try. Neve, ever again! I would love to write a review telling you what I ate here but I can't because I was never served any food here. Massa's is tucked away in a hidden corner of a Winghaven strip mall. When we arrived we saw a sign indicating we should seat ourselves so we did. And we waited. No one came. We had seen some menus when we came in so we thought maybe we should grab them and pick out what we want so when the staff finally came over we could get our order in. A waitress helped a nearby table and we tried to get her attention but she refused to look in our direction. Someone (a manager?) came over to the front of the restaurant and walked back to the kitchen after waving at us so we assumed someone would be over soon. You know what they say about assuming. The final straw came when 3 different parties came in, one after the other, and 3 separate servers hustled over to them so none of them would have to wait. We'd been there over 10 minutes at that point without any service (stupid I know but a family member had given me a gift card for Christmas and I was hoping to use it) so finally we just walked out. Sure, I could have gone to the bar or hunted someone down to make them realize we were in need of service but I shouldn't have to, clearly the other guests didn't. If you indicate guests should seat themselves then you should be on the lookout for the guests and serve them. Guests shouldn't also have to hunt down their own menu, a server, or service. I think I'll write this gift card off as a lesson learned. read more

There were some definite highlights of our evening, but there were also plenty of lows. Overall OK, but not on my list of "gotta go back." A three star review is probably too generous. I take a group of friends to a restaurant weekly - we won't be back to Massa's despite the fact that I grew up eating at Massa's on Lindbergh at least 2-3 times a month. I dined at Massa's on a Friday night at 6:00 with a group of 12. I made the reservation on the Tuesday of the same week, but arrived to a table set for 11. Things happen. So I requested an additional chair which was supplied fairly quickly. However, we still only had 11 sets of utensils. So I requested additional silverware. When the salads arrived and we were still one set short, I requested again. I REALLY hate to repeat myself. One of the first things we noticed was the noise level. I had to lean across the table and raise my voice just to talk with someone across the table from me. I left with an incredible headache. The salad was delicious! I had the side salad with the house dressing. The dressing wasn't what I normally think of when I think "Italian house dressing", but it was very good. YUM is the only word I can think of to describe it. Once we received the salads, we finally received bread for the table. 8 pieces. Needless to say, those pieces went very quickly but not everyone who wanted bread had some. Within minutes I requested more bread. Then we got 3 plates. This should have happened from the beginning. If for some reason the bread was not available right away, this should have been communicated to the table. It never was. The bread wasn't warm and was basic Italian bread, but it was bread. About the time the bread finally arrived, Chase also started to help our table. He was on the ball and every time I saw him he asked if there was anything we needed. I sincerely believe if he had been our regular server, this would be a completely different review. With the exception of the noise level, every complaint I had was either the service or something that could have easily been rectified with superior service. I had an order of cheese garlic bread. Another winner! I had cannelloni. I love their red sauce. Others at the table also commented very positively about the red sauce. I had two cannelloni noodles and it was very filling. The serving sizes were huge! The sandwiches were over-stuffed and the bowls of pasta could easily make 3 meals for me. A friend ordered the pizza. I didn't ask what toppings she had, but it looked extremely good from my seat. She and her husband completely polished it off. Another friend ordered the fettuccine with broccoli & mushrooms. She likes chicken in her fettuccine also, so she requested chicken be added (for an extra charge of course.) Her large bowl of fettuccine arrived and there was basically no sauce. She took several bites and I then noticed her looking through her bowl. She couldn't find the chicken she had paid for. She called the waitress over and asked if chicken had been added and if she had been charged for the addition. (I was sitting next to this friend so I clearly heard and saw the entire exchange.) When the waitress replied, "yes," my friend nicely pointed out that she was unable to find any chicken. The waitress's reply: "What's that right there? I don't know how much you've dug through your bowl......" At that my friend did thoroughly look through the bowl and was able to find 4 very small pieces of chicken which she showed the waitress. Only then did the waitress offer to remove the charge. I had water to drink which was refilled exactly one time throughout the entire meal. This was also the only time I saw anyone else receive drink refills. The refill on water was offered. My friend who paid for a soft drink had to request a refill. When we were finished, they took our meals one by one to be boxed in the back. When the waitress picked up the fettuccine to box up, someone else (NOT OUR WAITRESS WHO WAS HOLDING THE FOOD) who worked there saw the bowl and asked my friend if she would like some sauce added to her box. Another friend at the meal commented on the poor service. That is the first time I've ever heard her complain about anything at one of our meals. read more

I don't give a lot of 5's but this one is easy. First service was great. They have pizza and typical Italian fare. Food was very good. We had a pizza with dinner salads which I thought the house dressing was excellent. Next it's great to see a manager working the room. He was up and walking and ensuring everything met expectations. Server came by at great intervals and ensured refills and food was properly done. When we were leaving we mentioned that this was our first visit and the guy who I think was a bartender thanked us and informed us about happy hour specials, etc. Every employee, bartender/bareback, hostess, manager, we passed on the way out thanked us and gave us a holiday wishes. These came off as sincere which showed that employees care. Lastly they had live music which normally I'm not a fan but this guy had a great set and was unbelievably good (I'd say excellent but I don't want to over use the term, ok the guy was awesome). I would've given her a big tip to compensate for her time, but she missed that opportunity by saying that to me. I live right by Massa's so it's definitely the "go to" place in Winghaven/O'Fallon area. They have a really nice patio to eat lunch/dinner on. If the weather is nice obviously. There's a little body of water it over looks! There's a closed in porch and an open one. They make AMAZING long islands. Like I'm talking you drink 1 and you're good. Well for me anyways. Which is perfect because they are definitely on more of the pricer side when it comes to drinks. Okay so let's talk about the food! I LOVE the dressing, it's obviously Italian and its homemade. It's delicious. I don't like how they serve it on little tiny plates and when you try to mix the mountain of cheese they pour on top into the salad, it falls off the plate. The rest of the food is okay. I honestly go there more for the drinks! The atmosphere can also get kind of creepy. There's usually older couples there that are regulars, and they are fine. Then you have the drunk off their ass moms that talk extremely loud and are flirting with every guy in the bar. read more

My server was stef, my drink sat empty for majority of dinner I had to find and ask her to refill it for me, it took probably 25 minutes for her to take our order she practically ignored us and the table next to us, bad attitude and didn't make any effort to do her job. Had another amazing dinner relaxing outside on the patio in St Charles. Our favorite waitress, Ashley Morgan, as usual went above and beyond taking care of us and the tables around us. She knows the menu, she remembers you, always greets us with a smile and knows what we like. She is a very special waitress who adds her own special charm every time we see her. The folks at Massa's are like family to us ~ and if by chance something isn't right (which rarely happens) they will make it right. It is important to them that every customer gets the meal they deserve and love it. Patrick is the guy behind the bar and makes by far the best martinis in town ~ and always makes sure you're happy with what he's made. I ordered Massa's from door dash tonight. When i go to the restaurant there food has been good but my carry out this evening was terrible. I had an Italian salad that was good but my cannelloni was horrible. Two overcooked cannelloni stuffed noodles with NO sauce; despite that i asked for both a mixture of white and red.
