I'll be coming back again! Right when I walked in there was a steady line of customers but the staff did a great job with quick coffee orders and food following shortly afterwards. I ordered the French omelette and a side of toast. The omelette was so fluffy and the toast I believe is homemade and came out warm! I most recently stopped in with a coworker to catch up over coffee. There is street parking along with a small parking lot next to the coffee shop (you may need to back out of the lot back onto the main street, depending on how busy it is). The shop is super cute and I love the exposed brick walls. It's definitely a vibe. The staff was friendly and greeted us and helped me decide on what to order. I ended up with a seasonal cold brew, which was delicious. They have plenty of seating inside and outside and it's definitely a good spot for a meeting, date or to hang out and get some work done. If you order to enjoy there, they'll give you glassware instead of to-go cups and I got some cute photos too. We drove to Mast Coffee since they had a nice breakfast selection and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed everything we ordered. The coffees we ordered ranged from their seasonal cold brew with orange coconut cold foam, ice banana mochas, to a decaf maple and cinnamon latte. As for our food, we order their breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and their roasted breakfast potatos. Drinks came out quickly and we were quoted 25 minutes for the food. We all enjoyed our drinks, and when that food came out, we all gave each other looks of satisfaction. My MIL loved how thick the bread for the avocado toast was and how the avocado was dressed. I loved the breakfast potatoes which were crispy and the maple chili crunch was so delicious. The breakfast burrito had a slow roasted meat inside (think birria or pot roast) and came with a side of consomme to dip and pour. Such a great coffee shop and we'll certainly be back! read more

Mast Coffee managed to deliver one of the worst customer service experiences we've had in Sacramento--and that's saying something. We were greeted with a casual "what's up," which set the tone immediately. When we asked for a bit of sweetener for our daughter's matcha, the young woman behind the counter seemed visibly annoyed by the request, as if we were inconveniencing her rather than ordering from a café. Things went downhill from there. Despite us 100% ordering it, they completely forgot to make the avocado toast. After waiting an ungodly amount of time for an order that already included four breakfast sandwiches, we were told we could "order another one." At that point, we declined. Waiting even longer just wasn't worth it. Now, as much as it pains me to say this given how bad the service was, the breakfast sandwiches were absolutely delicious--easily the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't hold up: the coffee, matcha, and cold brew were all pretty meh and forgettable. Great food can't fully make up for poor service, indifference, and basic order mistakes. Mast Coffee has potential, but until the customer experience improves, it's hard to recommend. read more

Sadly was not able to try any of their food menu but something we like to do is try if we like their coffee. We ordered our usual; iced honey & brown sugar latte. Mine tasted great! A little on the watery side but amazing taste. My husband's brown sugar tasted a little sour? That's usually not a good sign but it may just be syrup we are not used to. Loved the environment they've created at this spot. The big windows allow for natural lighting ideal for reading/ studying. The music was a bit loud for someone who may struggle with anxiety (me) when it comes to reading without headphones. I suggest a noise canceling one pair. The service was amazing! I ordered the Bacon and Egg breakfast sando and was super unimpressed. The bacon was over cooked to the point that it was black. Every bite was like biting into charcoal and it ruined the sandwich. I couldn't finish the sandwich. (Yes I could take out the crisp bacon but i didn't want to eat just egg and bread). I had an iced coffee which tasted good. Haven't been back here since they first opened, and I don't know why since I enjoyed it last time! Today's visit was long overdue and I hope to be back again soon. I kept seeing their breakfast sandwich on Instagram and their new hibiscus matcha, so these two things brought us in. With a chocolate chip croissant for our kids, the total came out to $50, which was hefty for just a quick coffee and breakfast run, but they really do provide quality ingredients and flavors. Hibiscus matcha - so pretty! I can't say I got a ton of the hibiscus flavor but it was a very delicious matcha latte. Breakfast sando - the flavors were on point! But the bread was a little too crusty, or maybe stale, for our taste. If it was a bit softer like brioche then it would have been a 10/10. I loved the ham they used and the egg is thick and cooked nicely. Avocado toast - I added an egg on top so I thought this better be the best $16.50 avocado toast I've ever tasted. And it certainly was. The egg was poached to perfection. I liked the crunchiness of the cucumber and the gochujang mayo. One of the best food menus we have had recently at a coffee shop! The dreamiest matcha latte, their hibiscus matcha is a must-try! I love this location because they have study rooms available to have a more secluded and private workspace. They also have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, as well as free wifi. This cafe is a remote worker's playground. They have a private parking lot although it's a bit tricky to get in and out of, and there is limited space. They also have lots of free street parking at the location. The Mocha was delicious and had a little cinnamon on top which added a nice touch. The breakfast sando was out of this world. The bread was so soft, the egg was fluffy and flavorful, and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The music they played put me in such a mellow mood, perfect for a coffee shop. I love this place. It's a perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Plenty of tables, inside and out. Good lighting and chill vibe. They make a good cup of coffee and their specialty drinks are amazing as well. My go to is the Mont Blanc. It's as pretty to look at as it is enjoyable to drink. I absolutely love Mast Coffee (especially this location). It's located off of Broadway and the perfect space to enjoy your food inside or outside, I also like getting work done here too. I take my pups and we enjoy the outdoor seating. You can't go wrong with their lattes, seasonal ones are always so so good. I've probably tried their entire menu and I always get chia pudding, breakfast sandwich or burrito. Staff gets your drinks out pretty fast and food comes out at a reasonable time. But I would order those potatoes with Thai basil and the most perfectly prepared soft boiled egg with a sauce I was scrapping from the bowl after every-time I return. Came in on Halloween day and received $1 off for me being in costume and another $1 off for the Frenchie in costume. Witchy Witch and Bat Boy the Frenchies had a great visit. Me (and my hot take): latte art is overrated. Me after having a mocha here: okay okay I'm starting to be a believer! :X Maybe I'm just annoyingly hard to please when it comes to latte art, but I was actually in real joy when the barista presented the hot mocha to me. So gorgeous!! The drink was also filled to the brim and had a noticeable slight thickness to it. Very creamy. Usually I prefer my mochas to be more rich in chocolate flavor, but I still enjoyed the perfect soothing balance of chocolate and coffee taste. Major props to the barista! I also got in-house roasted suite 7 blend coffee beans to take home. Pretty smooth in taste. Definitely agree on the graham cracker flavor note. It does have a slight fruity taste so also recommend if you want to delve into that realm of coffee tasting. Sooo why only 4 stars? Wasn't fully on board with the breakfast tartine. It was overwhelmingly garlicky, so much that I had garlic mouth even a couple of hours after eating it lol. Probably suitable only for the garlic fanatics out there. Parking is a bit dicey here. As I am a big time coffee connoisseur, I finally had the opportunity to try "Mast Coffee" in the heart of Sacramento. Located directly on 17th St. and tucked in between X St. and Broadway, this very popular independently owned and operated roastery has been serving the community since 2017. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as there is one small dedicated lot that is adjacent to the business. However, there is nearby street parking that is not metered and fairly accessible. I came here with my lady during the morning of Monday 1/15/2024 at around 10:40am. Since the MLK walk was going on, it was quite busy. Luckily, we found a parking spot directly across the street. The look of the business itself was classic as this space was originally an old brick building that converted nicely into an upscale place to work, study, converse, and stop by to get your caffeine fix. They offer a few outdoor tables and chairs on the more comfortable Sacramento days. The inside though is where the real magic happens. Much of the brick wall is proudly displayed while the flooring has a very distressed industrial look to it. I also wanted to add that there is ambient lighting throughout. But what really caught my attention is that there are 3 clear privacy booths (near the gender-neutral restroom) with sound-proof glass, a chair, and a small study area. This is a great place to escape the noise where people can focus for school or even do a meeting/conference call for work. Aside from that, this place offers generous seating throughout the building. I ended up ordering a regular sized (12 oz.) "Sweet Latte" for $6. Since I dined in, they gave this to me in a very nice coffee mug with matching coaster. The latte art was pure perfection and the taste was out of this world amazing. Quite possibly one of the much better lattes I've had in my decades of trying hundreds throughout my life. I also ordered a butter croissant but this was just average for me and it wasn't warmed up nor was it soft and fluffy. But the coffee here is the real winner as this place rivals other local favorites such as "Temple", "World Traveler", "The Mill", and "Chocolate Fish". All in all, "Mast Coffee" is an excellent place to enjoy standard house coffee, an espresso beverage, or a cup of tea. They also serve your standard baked pastries as well as larger food items (avocado toast, breakfast tostada, roasted potato, and several others). Hours of operation are generous as they're open for business seven days a week from 7am-4pm. And finally, they opened a second location (in mid-2023) at 28th and O St. (previously where "Pivot Coffee" once stood). With that said and done, I am giving the the Broadway "Mast Coffee" a perfect five star rating. read more

I got some vanilla green tea cardamom thing and it's pretty damn good and my friend got an oat latte with brown sugar syrup and it's also very tasty. Our total for the two drinks was like 12$ so not exactly inexpensive but like if you can find a place for cheaper coffee that's still tasty then let me know... I was going to get a little food thing but damn it was expensive like avocado toast was 13$... and 3.50 for HALF an avocado. Hey... what do you mean? 13$ avocado toast?
