I saw an Instagram reel about this new Korean restaurant that serves delicious soy marinated raw crab and knew I had to try it. My partner and I had dinner here on a Saturday night and although there were several other tables, the service was smooth and friendly. The food was even better. I grew up visiting LA Koreatown frequently so I'm no stranger to Korean marinated crab. My partner and I shared the soy marinated raw crab and the grilled mackerel which came with the most flavorful kimchi stew. The soy marinated crab was paired with the yummiest fish roe rice. I've tried all of the other soy marinated crab spots (all 3 of them ) and this spot is definitely the best. This restaurant is definitely my new favorite Korean restaurant in the Bay Area. This place had pretty good korean food. My favorite was definitely the pork backbone soup. It was super flavorful and delicious. The raw marinated seafood combo was good as well, but it might taste kinda fishy for people who aren't used to eating them. And the shoyu marinated one was a little more fishy than the spicy one. They were decently meaty though. It tasted pretty good mixed with the rice and the abalone and the shrimps were also pretty good. I'd eat here again! read more

Hidden gem for Korean food in Santa Clara! Their ganjang gejang (marinated raw crab) is one of the best I've had in the Bay Area--super fresh, full of roe, and so good when mixed into rice. The spicy seafood stew is packed with seafood, including a whole octopus and blue crab, and the broth is rich and comforting. Also loved the pork belly with pickled radish wraps--the acidity from the radish cuts through the richness perfectly. Spacious seating and great service. Definitely worth a visit! read more

It's always fun to try a new Korean restaurant in the South Bay. However, this restaurant doesn't completely feel like a new one since I believe it's the third version of a Korean restaurant at 1484 Halford Ave. Though I miss the first version, Master Oh's has a novel spin. We tried the Barley Rice Set Menu ($29), which seems to be trending, and quite enjoyed it. The Grilled Flounder was good but the Soybean Paste Soup (된장찌개) didn't come out until we were almost done. We also ordered the Kimchi and Clam Kalguksu Noodle soup ($19) which was flavorful but I thought the clams didn't taste very fresh. Service was adequate but because it was so busy the servers were obviously overwhelmed. I asked once for another bowl of rice but I never got it. read more

The staff made me feel as if I owed them something just for being there; it was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. 2. The food prices are absurdly high for what you get. I expected more quality for the amount I paid, but sadly, that was not the case. 3. Speaking of the food, it was nothing special. I had hoped to enjoy authentic Korean flavors, but instead, it felt bland and generic. Tteokbokki with Ramen: The sauce is sweet and spicy with a hint of saltiness. The rice cakes are soft and chewy, and the ramen has a nice chewy texture. I order Tteokbokki no matter where I go. Stone Bowl Bibimbap: The crispy rice crust at the bottom of the stone bowl is amazing! It's so full of flavor, and once you mix it with the sauce, it feels just like a scene from a K-drama! Pork Backbone Stew: The meat is stewed until it's incredibly tender! The broth is rich, spicy, and aromatic with a hint of medicinal herbs, and it gets tastier the longer it simmers. A pot of this in the winter is pure happiness. Bossam (Pork Belly Wraps): The pork is so tender and not greasy. We were impressed by the side dishes given. Best ones we've had from a Korean restaurant. We ordered only the clam noodle soup ( $19), on the pricier side, but with all these side dishes given that could make up our lunch meal, we had more than enough, portion was also huge. Quality of knife cut noodles were nicely al dente, clams were so fresh and yummy that my 2 yo could eat lots of them. Will be back to try the other flavors and the highly raved marinated crab. Super fresh, no fishy taste, and lots of roe. Mixing it with rice, fish roe, pickled radish, and seaweed was so satisfying. Just wish there was more of it. Soy Sauce Abalone - Nice and chewy, with a well-balanced tangy, slightly sweet, salty, and mildly spicy sauce. Bibimbap - Came sizzling hot. Beef was tender and slightly sweet. Mixed with chili paste and soft egg--gone in seconds. Seafood Soup - A spicy mix of octopus, shrimp, crab, fish intestines, roe, and some mystery shellfish that burst with juice. I LOVE THIS PLACE. It's my top favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. First we had the pork back bone soup. It was so good!!!! There was a lot of meat and the soup was so flavorful!!! I didn't get to try the soy sauce marinated crab but I did try the spicy and OMG SOOO GOOOD!! I love that they give you the rice which is very flavorful and the crab was so delicious. It wasn't too fishy and the sauce was so flavorful that I could eat it with the rice!!! It wasn't too spicy and has a sweetness to it. Lastly we got the meal set with the grilled mackerel. Better food than the previous restaurant at this location, and overall cleaner with better presentation. It was a quick meal, so this is not a full review of the menu. I had bibimbap, which traditionally is often served with a light broth on the side to balance the rice and prevent the dish from feeling dry, and many Korean recipes explicitly include a simple soup to serve alongside bibimbap. I don't appreciate Korean restaurants skimping on these small but important touches just because some patrons may not know to expect them. A light broth soup is not costly for the restaurant, and it can really enhance the flavor and enjoyment of a rice dish like bibimbap. I was disappointed on that point. Service was quick, but the restaurant was also slow at the time, and the fact that the food came out very fast suggests the ingredients (the beef in this case, dry and cold) were mostly prepped and just assembled to order rather than cooked more freshly for each dish. There's a balance to be struck: you don't want patrons waiting forever, but you also want the food to taste freshly made, not simply pre-made components thrown together at the last minute. read more

There's a trick with the bill at this restaurant. The bill shows suggested tip percentages (18%, 20%, 22%), but these percentages are calculated not on the price of the food alone, but on the total amount including California tax. This means I'm essentially tipping on both the food cost and the California tax, which I think is a trick to get more tips and is unfair. read more

My husband ordered the bibimbop with pork. (because I don't eat beef) When my food came, I noticed some pieces of meat in the soup. The Colombian waitress told me it was pork belly. What? I thought it was meatless? The soup was good but everything else was okay. The husband's food? It came with beef. She said they don't make it with pork, and ran out so is it okay with beef? The food was great, and our server (with red hair) was very kind. However, I felt uncomfortable when another staff member (an older lady) came out and directly questioned the amount I was tipping. As a student, I just wanted to enjoy a good meal, and I wasn't expecting to be pressured like that. The 보리밥 정식 is for 1 person but could easily serve 2. All in all it was plenty of food for 3 people; we had some leftovers. Quality of food is decent and wasn't over salted.
