I ordered a medium half-and-half pizza for $28.99, and it was absolutely delicious. The olives on the veggie side were incredibly flavorful and fresh. The staff here are super welcoming and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet during lunch hours, making it a perfect time to beat the crowd. Coming at this off-peak hour also made it much easier to find a parking spot nearby. Ending the meal with their heavenly dessert paired with a cup of hot tea was a truly divine, classic culinary treat. Coming at this off-peak afternoon hour is a total lifesaver for finding an stress free parking spot right away!

Excellent service here and made us feel at home. Server suggested the popular pizza of ottoman and bergamo. Waited about 10-15 minutes for a medium pizza. While we were waiting, the server offered us Turkish tea. Came out very hot for the cool night. Pizza was freshly baked and had a very crispy and thin crust. Flavorful pizza. The bergamo was my favorite. The balsamic glaze gave it a nice sweetness to contrast the savory Turkish pastrami. The Stracclatella topped it off with a cheesy gooey texture. Offered us baklava for being first time customers. Perfect treat to end with as it was not too sweet. It had strong nuttiness and layered crisps. This spots opens late and has lots of regulars come in during the hour we stayed. Love the relationship the store maintains. Limited indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking in front of store.

Where to find NY-Style Pizza with Turkish Twist in the Bay Area! .. and the best part: it's open late! @mateopizza__ is open until 2am everyday for those late night cravings. They also use halal meats and really put love and joy into the food they make. Here for the pizza, but don't skip the desserts! Service is super friendly and it's a small space but can definitely do a grab and go

Finally found the best lahmacun in the area at this cute, cozy spot in Redwood City. It's prepared and served the authentic way: with lemon, parsley, and thinly sliced onions (not piled with lettuce or random salad ingredients). The dough was perfectly crispy, and the topping-to-crust ratio was just right. Their pide and ayran were also absolutely delicious. Friendly service, great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing Turkish pizzas! The lamacun was just so light and crispy! We also got a Turkish flatbread with pepperoni which was also delicious! I'd highly recommend this place. The people working there are also super nice!

Had the lahmacun and plain cheese pizza. Lahmacun was 5/5 and for $8-9 it is definitely worth getting if you try this place. The cheese pizza wasn't doing it for me. Lacking a good crust and flavor in the sauce. but I'll be trying another type when I have a chance.

Came to Mateo Pizza and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It looks like they mostly do to-go, but if you choose to eat in like us, there are a few tables set up so you can. We ordered 2 large pizzas all half and half such that we could maximize trying flavors. I personally liked the truffle mushroom pizza and the Turkish pastrami pizza best! Moreover, the pizza was tender and the cheese pull was strong! The owner was super kind too. As we wound down our meal, he also offered us Turkish tea which helped to cut the greasiness and also gave us a small plate of Turkish delights which allowed us a sweet bite to wrap up our meal. Now that's what I call service! Needless to say, my friends and I have now been recommending Mateo Pizza to our other friends too. I also want to come back to try the more traditional pide!

We Turks are very fond of Turkish flat bread (lahmacun). I've tried it at many places, but this is the first time I've had one in America that tastes this authentic. The dough was incredibly thin and crispy, and the filling was full of flavor. I can honestly say it was outstanding. At the same time, the service and hospitality were truly top-notch. I definitely recommend it.

I'm writing this 0-star review as a loyal customer who used to order here often and even left a 5-star review just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the management showed the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I placed my order through DoorDash like always. Later, I received a call from the restaurant claiming I had already picked up my order, even though I clearly hadn't. When I denied it, the person on the phone (Elias) called me a liar, said they had it on camera, and then hung up on me. I was shocked, so I drove there myself to clear things up. When I confronted Elias in person and told him it was me who placed the order, he finally admitted he would make it. But at that point I was so angry, insulted, and disappointed that I refused to take the food and walked out. I have never seen such unprofessional, disrespectful behavior from a restaurant. After this experience, I will never order from here again.

The pizza was absolutely delicious, some of the best crust I've ever had - very fluffy! Nice indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside, it was beautiful out. Service was excellent, the owner is very nice. Definitely recommend coming by!

Wow, what an amazing spot. Not only was the food amazing, but the vibe was extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a hawaiian and ottoman pizza and they were top notch. Crunchy crust with premium ingredients, everything was perfect. I saw the table next to us full of regulars eating an amazing looking flat bread. I asked what it was... not only did they tell me it was lahmacun, but they insisted I eat of large piece from their plate. The owner gave me a fresh plate of tomatoes and onions and chili's and taught me how to eat it. If you like lamb, this is THE dish to get. Simply amazing and nothing like I've ever had. My family including 6 year old twins loved everything. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Went straight here from the AirPort after arriving @2130. They're open till 0130 A.M. We ordered 1/2 and 1/2 Hawaiian and Pepperoni+Arugula large pizza, chocolate pudding and 12-pc wings. Everything was amazing! Pizza melts and the crust was just right, the wings are delicious and flavourful, the chocolate pudding is triple layer (cake+vanilla+chocolate) and not too sweet! The place is petite, with tables inside and outside - there was actually more people ordering to-go despite the late hour. This place is definitely a hidden little gem! read more

This is the second time ordering out from this after hour neighborhood pizza place. We had the large Veggie Supreme pizza and loved the crispy thin crust and alot of real mozzarella cheese. We substituted their sweet cherry tomatoes for the red bell peppers kept the rest the same. We added our own fresh oregano leaves on top, it added a bit of pizazz. Ilyas gave me a homemade dessert to try as his mother made it called Spoonful. It is a brownie base, vanilla pudding middle and topped with chocolate pudding. We licked our plates... soooo smooth and flavorful! Definitely ask for it as it's not on the menu yet. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed & appreciated. Even taped a plastic bag on top of pizza for plates, napkins and condiments - a nice added touch. My mother and I highly recommend. Thankyou for a wonderful experience! read more

I ordered a take out months ago when they first opened, but I would say the best experience I had with them was when I decided to do a sit down there with my best friend. My best friend raved about their lahmacun and how it was her go-to order whenever she wanted something affordable, healthy, filling, and delicious! And trust me when I say, she was 100% right! The dough is made with high quality Italian flour and the toppings were all fresh cut parsley, tomatoes, onions, etc.! It was so fresh, flavorful, and I didn't feel bloated or guilty after eating it! The owner Ilyas was super welcoming and catering to us and made us feel so special as we dined in their cute little shop. That have a huge menu, but I don't know how I can stay away from the lahmacun. I hope to try more items and bring more friends and family to this spot! Also side note, did you see how late they are open until? 1:30am every night makes this the best late night grub place! Definitely going to be a regular! read more

Good halal pizzeria with reasonable prices. The pizza is a bit greasy, so I can't give it 5 stars, but we used to order delivery and pickup here very often. There isn't much seating inside, but it's quite cozy. The staff is polite and friendly. read more

I was happy to hear that the old Thai restaurant formerly occupying this space was now a pizza place, since it was in my neighborhood. So, on a Friday night I called the place to order a medium margarita pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. They told me it would take 20 minutes. So I get there just in time to pickup my pizza... so I thought (more on that later). There were a few middle aged guys sitting outside, my guess is they were the owners or friends. As I walk in the guy making the pizza stares at me with a stern look, so I think to myself, "he's not going to help me". Then another guys comes out from the back and I tell him that I'm here to pickup my pizza, explaining the exact order. He looks confused for a few seconds then talks to the guy making the pizzas in a language other than English. Then he tells me that a DoorDash driver ended up with my pizza. I said to him "whaaaat!?" So I tell him fine, I'll wait for them to make me a new pizza. After 20 minutes of waiting (mostly staring at San Mateo Drive) my new pizza was ready. As for the pizza review. Quality, texture, and flavor were quite good; better than a majority of pizza places in the area if you like super thin crust. However, the $2 of mushrooms was not worth it. Seemed like there were only a few mushrooms sliced thin. Would I order again? Yeah, even with the hiccup of my pizza being mysteriously in the hands of the DoorDash driver, it was a tasty pie. But I'll save my money and skip the barely there mushrooms. read more

I'm sorry, I don't know what those other reviewers are talking about, but I was very disappointed. I ordered a medium least expensive meat (pepperoni) pizza and, out the door, without tip was $32. Rather pricey. In terms of quality, the cheese was lumpy and both the cheese and toppings kept sliding off the crust. Was also pretty greasy. It's difficult to get a parking place in front of this tiny establishment; I got lucky (or not) today so I thought I'd try it out. Sorry, I won't be going back. read more

Absolutely insanely good pizza, perfect ambience for a late night bite, and some of the best service I've ever had at a pizza place. The owners are super sweet and very kind every time I've gone in. Recently tried the Ottoman pizza late night with my girlfriend a few days ago and I absolutely loved it, I think that'll definitely be my go to next time The few times I've been before I got a margarita and pepperoni pizza and I absolutely LOVED it, especially the Margarita. It's so full of flavors and you can absolutely tell how fresh the food here is. The guys working there are super attentive and kind, wonderful hospitality as expected from any Turkish restaurant. Their Turkish Yogurt is in acquired taste, as some of the people I ordered for weren't exactly big on it, however I certainly loved it. Perfect Pizza. And amazing service. I don't say this lightly but it's definitely one of the best pizzas I've ever had. My only problem is how dangerous delicious pizza so close to my home is for my health read more

Came in with my two of my friends after a round of golf and couldn't decide on which pizza to get. Thankfully we were greeted with extremely friendly and understanding employees who gave us an amazing 3 way pizza that looked amazing! And what really blew us away was the taste and how delicious each different type of pizza was! We would definitely recommended the mushroom pizza with arugula as that one blew us away! Stumbled upon this place while waiting for my car to get serviced at Putnam Suburu. Friendly reception and hospitality. I ordered a vegetarian pizza and it was excellent. The crust was wood fired to perfection and the toppings were at their peak. The sauce, the cheese, the mushrooms, onions and olives were divine. Though I do wish they would put more mushrooms. Next time I will order extra mushrooms and Will add pineapple because I love that combination. I ordered the vegetarian pizza and I enjoyed every bite. If you're looking for delicious pizza, look no further. This is the place for really good pizza. read more

Do not order pizza here from delivery apps. I ordered over $100 worth of pizza last night and the uber driver picked it up, But the restaurant manager didnt confirm the pickup on the driver app. First driver stole the pizza and cancelled. Now the next driver tried to pick up the pizza and the owner told him it got picked up already. The driver called me and reported. So I had to report to Uber customer support about someone else picking up the food. I called thr manager and said he cannot do anything about it. So i lost money. Good thing the uber driver reportes to me, otherwise Id be waiting all night long for pizza the manager gave to someone else WHOM DID NOT CONFIRM THE PICK UP. do not order here from the slice app or any app perioid. The customer service store pizza parkor manager does not care. No confirm. No pickup. Thank you for the uber driver for reporting to me someone else picked up the order. I'm so glad there's a Halal pizza place that serves pepperoni pizza. My other favorite is their Ottoman Pizza (Pomodoro sauce, mozzarella cheese, Turkish sausage (sujuk), Turkish pastrami, red pepper, oregano, arugula). They're also friendly and sincere! It's an intimate and cozy place. This is definitely worth checking out! read more

The pizza is so-so but not their strong point.... I think if they had a woman in there running things, details would not be missed so much... As long as Daddy is paying the rent they'll be around but they don't do much business so it's possible the location is just jinxed... No business that's and at that address has done well and usually winds up closing after 3 or 4 years. read more

This has been our go to pizza spot in Burlingame/San Mateo since its opening. The professionalism, care, and love they put into each pizza makes them stand out from others. The ottoman pizza was incredible. Always count on the food being fresh even if you go near closing time. The Lahmacun is also one of the most authentic tasting Lahmacun in the area, don't forget the lemon! Ambiance great as well, plenty of inside and outside seating. Can watch the chefs in action as well! read more

Let me just start off by saying that this is one of the best pizzas I have ever had and that's a saying a lot since I'm from New York , the guy is amazing he so nice and friendly very polite and kind makes feel very welcome and as if he knew you of years , I also tried there turkey style tres leches and let me just tell you it was 10/10 I the the Carmel , I had to get the pistachio right then and there I couldn't wait and everything was so good I'm writing this rewrite first ever that's how good it is you should definitely stop by if you guys are ever in San Francisco read more

It's tough to pick a favorite between the two, but the pepperoni on the meatzza was delicious, and the buffalo and ranch combo on the buffalo chicken was tasty. Surprisingly, my favorite was the cannoli. Even though I usually prefer savory over sweet, the cannoli was amazing. The pizza was made fresh, it was delicious and came out fairly quick. The onion rings and waffle fries definitely hit the spot while we waited for our pizza to come out. Although it was empty when we came on Father's Day and we had a chance to dine in, we would definitely order to go next time around.

Absolutely loved our experience at Mateo Pizza! The Margherita and Ottoman pizzas were both delicious--perfectly baked with fresh, flavorful ingredients. We also tried the arugula salad, which was crisp and clearly made with top-quality produce. While we waited for our order, the owner kindly served my daughter and me some Turkish tea, which was such a warm and thoughtful gesture.
