This was a solid seafood restaurant in Lewes. I had the shrimp and grits - great flavor in the sauce (wish there was twice as much!) and the grits were good. The crab fries were good and I would order again. I did not care for the crab and pimento dip but my son loved it and would order again. He also liked the fried shrimp. Our bill for the two of us was $110, which you expect for a nicer place at the beach. In summary, solid restaurant - a little pricey but very good. Service was excellent. Loved coming here several times in the past, this time- so underwhelmed at the inattention to the simple things you expect to be on point. Like: uncrisp, lifeless french fries, 3 slivers of chorizo sausage in the mussel appetizer that had lots of broth- 1 piece of toast to dunk. Really. Fried chicken so dry-mashed potatoes lukewarm. This is a 5 star based on service and amazing food. If you don't want a pretentious place that is trying to be trendy this is it. Order the scallops with cauliflower and a pea reduction sauce! I had the blackend sushi grade tuna which was perfectly made. The crab soup was something I didn't expect, the tomato broth with potatoes, stewed tomatoes, corn, peas and lump crab set a new standard for me. This is meant to be 4.5 stars. The ONLY thing I didn't like was their iced tea. The service is so attentive, without being pushy or intrusive. A hard balance to strike, but they did it. The food is great. I could've used a bit more crabcake in their crabcake, but what was there was delicious! Their salads are plentiful, another plus. We will definitely be back during our week at Rehoboth Beach. The place is so casual, with pillows and throw blankets at each table, it made a nice memory. Great food, great service. read more

Matt's was good, but I didn't really feel cared about there. Note: if you want to order off the Happy Hour menu, you have to sit at the bar. My boyfriend and I sat one of the high tops at the bar. It was a really narrow table, but it faced the bay (or river--truth is I don't know what it was, but it was pretty), so it made up for it. I got the steamed shrimp with cocktail sauce for $12 and added coleslaw and hushpuppies to make it a meal. Everything was good, but nothing I *have* to come back for. Personally, I didn't think the hushpuppies needed the honey butter. I prefer them plain, but they could use some powdered sugar or something instead. It took forever to get refills and our check. I wanted to like this place since it seems they try hard to please...ingredients seem wholesome and service was very good, but prices are a bit high for average food. My wife had a $36 entree which was a "special" pasta with shreds of lobster dish that was just ok and a bit too spicy for something not indicated to be. It also came with toasted bread that was charred to inedible. Trying to economize, I chose the $18 burger with fries that was cooked correctly but subpar in the flavor dept. My guess is the beef was just too lean and completely unsalted. $10 onion rings were the best thing to be brought out, but even they were a bit bland. Place was busy and it seems to be a favorite for some, but it won't get anymore of my money. read more

Been here 3 or 4 times. Food is good. The clam chowder is really good. A tad bacon strong but I like bacon. I got the beach burger tonight. Ordered medium well. It was medium/medium rare but I still ate it. Tasted fresh. The wife got the Shrimp melt. Kind of small for $24 but she loved it. Upgrade to fries from chips is $2 but they give you a lot snd they are good. Put molt vinegar on the table for fried. In the past we have gotten seafood pot pie, hush puppies, shrimp, deserts...all good. A bit pricey but it is a touristy area. I recommend. read more

We've been going to Matt's Fish Camp every year we come to Bethany Beach for the past 4 years. It's been great until this year. The lobster deviled eggs were disgusting- too much mayo and what tasted like relish, to say they are lobster deviled eggs is quite frankly a joke with how little lobster there was.They took our favorite entree (scallops and seasonal vegetables) off the menu, however we were lucky that it was a special. Unfortunately, The scallops this time around didn't have a nice sear and the side was not appetizing. Some kind of Smokey flavored bean with onions. We also ordered the clams and linguini, but it was nothing special. The kids chicken fingers were over cooked and French fries were soggy. I'm hoping this was just a bad night, but after paying over $100 for dinner and the food not being that great,we are hesitant to try again. read more

We walked in and felt so comfortable. It is the cutest space, feels very new and clean and everyone was so friendly. We got there about 8 minutes after they opened and it was a good thing because when we left (about 50 minutes later) most of the tables were full. Our server was attentive and our food came out promptly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered the kids hamburger, which came with green beans and fries. The kid stated everything was very good including the green beans, which for him is unusual. Our other son ordered a side of Mac and cheese which he rated a 4.5 out of 5 even though it had a different cheese than he is used to. Again this is unusual because anything different to him is usually bad. My husband and I ordered the jumbo fried shrimp and fish and chips meals. The fries were very good (according to all parties) and though both the fish and shrimp were good, we both felt the shrimp were better. The coleslaw was good but the cocktail sauce was delicious! We visited last night & we were a rowdy group coming in for dinner in the slow season. Our waitress (maybe Laura??) was awesome & totally rolled with the punches. Service in general was stellar, with our drinks served quickly & waters kept refilled. Everyone was very happy with their dinner. I personally had the scallops & they were outstanding. My husband and I went for happy hour. We had great service and the crabby tots were delicious. The bad part is that the bar looks into the kitchen. It was very clean but my problem was with the teenager who was plating the chips. He put his bare hand in and scooped them onto a plate. He then proceeded to put his hand into the recycling bin and move some things around, wipe his face, and then plate more chips. He just needs to be trained better. read more

The restaurant was full and buzzy, but not so loud that we couldn't hear one another. Service was attentive without being overly fussy. We all ordered seafood - crab, fish, and shrimp. Everything was fresh and delicious, but not particularly exceptional. The parking lot is fairly small and fills up quickly on weekends. This place is very popular and I can see why. The wait on a Monday evening was 40 minutes and we'll worth the wait. The beer was cold and the food was hot and fresh! The crab dip was just okay but needed more flavor like Old Bay spice or hot sauce and French baguette or ciabatta would have been much better than the chips that came with the dip, pass on the dip and have the fries instead which are much tastier. The lobster in the lobster roll was very good and plentiful but the bread did not hold up...they really need a better roll to hold up the lobster. I will definitely be back and may bring my own bread because the lobster was awesome! read more

After a day at the beach we went to this casual restaurant however we paid $140 for tasteless food unless you were eating the vegetables that had whole garlic cloves in it that made us gag. They have a great seasonal Happy Hour deal - 1/2 priced bottles of wine! We completely butchered the pronunciation of the wine we ordered, but our waiter was understanding and non-judgmental. We got the lobster deviled eggs as an appetizer and the Shrimp and Grits for dinner. The Cajun broth it came in was to die for. The lobster Rueben was tasty but 1/4 of the sandwich had no lobster at all. When I found the lobster, the flavors blended well. The fish and chips sandwich was cooked well (not over or underdone) but had little flavor. The burger was just a burger with tons of bbq sauce plopped on. Everyone's chips, which come with the meal, were inedible. Over cooked with a burnt flavor. Those who chose to up charge to fries received brown, off-tasting fries. Maybe the oil needed to be changed. So basically we paid an average $20 for a tasteless sandwich and no sides. read more
