Wow, I am blown away by my recent experience at this restaurant! Great, friendly service, delicious food, and cute decor. First of all upon entering the restaurant, we were seated at a table and were almost immediately asked if we would mind getting up to let another party who had someone that was handicapped sit at our table. Of course we obliged and stood to the side while they prepared our booth. A couple minutes later, the manager came back over and said that the party changed their mind and sat us back at the original table. He was very apologetic and offered to have our first round of drinks on the house for our troubles, which were basically not even troubles at all but we really appreciated the gesture. I got an apple cider crush, which was delicious and cinnamony if not a little too sweet, but packed a punch. Onto the food which truly blew my mind. A 10/10 experience. We got the fried chicken and biscuits with sawmill gravy and beef short rib stroganoff. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Be sure to ask for extra gravy on the side! You are going to want it! Last but not least, I got the banana cake which also blew my mind and was probably one of the best desserts I have ever had. You must get it! To top it off, this restaurant is a cute little gem. I cannot stress enough how reFRESHing (literally and figuratively) it is to start a dining experience by walking into a clean smelling restaurant. The cleanliness shines through the prep-cooking (e.g., oysters the best I've had in my life!) At the insistence of my host (foodie friend Sharon) I had to try the lobster lo mein --- it was OK nothing spectacular --- she talked it up --- as it was an annual thing? they run out of due to popularity? she stressed the exclusivity. However, as someone who eats authentic Asian cuisine (I'm probably a much harsher and vastly more knowledgeable Asian fusion critic than most), that being said, it was fresh (a better grade noodle might help) & I think they might consider using a different type of lobster\meat to kick it up a notch. Overall a nice dish. At $115 w/ cocktails ($140 CV-19 sized tip) I wasn't overly stunned with amazement. 4.5 stars -rounded up to 5 for cleanliness & AMAZING service during a global pandemic. I'd give Matt's 4 1/2 stars. We went while on vacation and had a great time. Sat outside, didn't get service at first but once we flagged a waitress, everything was great. I ordered the lobster roll (cold) with fries and we shared the calamari. The lobster roll was market price but I believe it was around $28. Pretty standard these days, but could have been bigger for that price. The taste for everything was on point. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Rehoboth! read more

I have been going to Matt's fish camp in Lewes multiple times a year since 2017 and it was always advertised as a pet friendly if you are dining outside. .I am not sure what is happening but the restaurant's outdoor dining has turn into a non pet friendly place. Now it's a service dog only area! They have put up two signs posted as such. As soon as we sat down , we were asked if our dog was a service dog. Don't you know it's not polite to ask that ? I put my dog on the bench for 30 seconds to put on the harness and immediately a manager came out to ask us to put the dog down on the floor. So I told him I was just putting the harness so dog can be put on the ground with a leash. Few year ago , same thing happened so we complied but they did not enforce it to the table next to us who had a large dog sitting on the bench. It wasn't until we put our dog back on the bench they came out again and asked us and other table to put our dogs on the ground . So that is fine but what is your status here . Are you not a pet friendly restaurant ( outdoor dining area only ) any longer ? Because service dogs can go into the indoor and outdoor dining areas regardless of your stupid "signs". And again for the 4th time in 2 years , you don't have pan seared scallops, ran out for the day was the excuse I was given . At 6:00 PM on Friday evening ? Ran out items that you advertise on the daily special menu ? why give us two different menu ? One menu has seared scallops but other didn't . In the past I was told by one male waiter who really looked like he didn't want to wait on us , the reason was scallops were so expensive the dish would cost like $50 + for 4 scallops . Like $34 for 4 scallops and succotash with sauce wasn't expensive enough. I wonder how other restaurants can afford to sell seared scallops for under $30 ? Magic ? That must be it ! read more

We came here two years later and actually got to sit inside this time. I'm glad to say that the restaurant lived up to our memories. They have some great happy hour deals with the buck a shuck oysters being the centerpiece. Their Calamari was also excellent. I think I've figured out what makes this place tick. The Rehoboth area is full of restaurants and bars with great water views and mediocre food. This place is in a strip mall off of Coastal Highway though so they have to make up for the location with good food and they do it very well. Service was also friendly and fast. read more

Vacation fun in the sun and in search of great food led us to Matt's Fish Camp in Lewes,Delaware. We were charmed by the fascinating decor. Vintage ice boxes and antique stoves were among the interesting items to see. But, the real deal was the delicious food. We started off with crispy onion rings and honey mustard dipping sauce. They were huge and the sauce was undeniably good. The homemade chips and crab dip were Devine. Then, we gobbled up the steamed shrimp which tasted so fresh, you thought they just brought it from sea to table. It was amazing! Our main dish was the lobster roll sandwiches, both cold and hot. Some of us enjoyed perfectly cooked fries or fries with gravy and old bay. I loved my lobster roll and homemade pickles. We were so stuffed that there was no room for dessert. But, no worries we will be back for the bread pudding or ice cream sundaes. A fun and tasty afternoon, was the fabulous way to spend our afternoon. Service was great, thanks Becca. I was blown away by their food! I got their special Crab cake grilled cheese and swapped their homemade chips for an upgrade of crabby fries and my friend got the Crab Louie sandwich/roll and it comes with homemade chips. Both entrees came with a side of pickled squash(?) and pickles and wow, I was expecting just a pickle spear but nah, it was definitely some kind of their own recipe and so good. Everything was delicious! Both entrees came with an abundant amount of crab meat. The crabby fries were good, especially the first couple of bites, but after a while it gets a bit too salty. Our server was nice and food came out pretty quick. They also have signs on every few tables to limit indoor and outdoor seating. This was our first restaurant experience since February for our family. I love Matt's Fish Camp. This experience went beyond all expectations. We felt safe and comfortable. Hand sanitizer was everywhere. The staff had masks and gloves and social distancing was strictly followed. We were seated in a rear room by ourselves for most of the meal and were at least 9 feet away from another party when they came in. When you went to the restroom you wore a mask. The bathroom was clean. Our server Lauren was amazing. She was friendly knowledgeable and efficient. Water glasses were always full and the meal was paced properly. We were made comfortable and not rushed. The food as always was delicious. Watermelon Crush drinks made with Mellon purée,vodka and Triple Sec with lemon lime soda were refreshing. My son in law said his gin and tonic was perfect. The grand enjoyed his lemonade. The onion rings were huge and super crisp and not at all greasy. The mustard dipping sauce was a tasty accompaniment. We all enjoyed the Parker House rolls with butter. The Brussels Sprouts were perfect with a red pepper jelly topping. My Matt's Catch Seafood platter was enormous. Everything was perfectly flash fried and breaded. It consisted of a lobster tail, several large scallops, several shrimp, two pieces of cod and two good sized crab cakes. This was served with crisp French fries and creamy coleslaw. My grandson loved his fish sticks with a lobster tail and fries. My wife said her Crab Louie sandwich was the best she ever tasted, stuffed with lump crabmeat. If you are not a seafood person like my daughter, there are plenty of options like the chicken pot pie she chose. Plenty of chicken, vegetables and creamy sauce, topped by a large biscuit. We were too stuffed to enjoy dessert but past experience dictates that you should save room for some. Thought I'd give this place a try on a Saturday night. Didn't have to wait very long for a table and the service was very good. For starters, I ordered the crab and jalapeño hush puppies. Turns out, there was no crab or visible jalapeños in the hush puppies. However, they were still tasty despite my initial disappointment. With just a little added crab meat and jalapeño bits, they would have been fantastic. I ordered the crab cakes for my main course. They were served on a bed of grits and mixed veggies. Good crab cakes, although I've had better. I'm a Marylander and we take crab cakes seriously, so the bar is really high for this dish. I found Matt's when looking for a good place for dinner that was close to our hotel.... And we were not disappointed. The seafood was fresh and tasty. The Old Bay wings were fantastic and the beer selection was small but varied. I really enjoyed the crab cakes and the kid said the Clam Chowder was really good. Dinner was not cheap, but we had good food and great service - we really enjoyed ourselves. We got the crab dip as an app, it had more crab in it than I was expecting and the flavor was good. I had a salad with a crab cake. The salad was basic and the crab cake was a little soggy. I probably wouldn't get it again. My husband had the fish and chips which were delicious. The outside was crispy and the inside was moist and the fries were good too. From someone who's worked just about every restaurant job, it is commitment to the customer that makes a great restaurant.
