I enjoyed the easy service here. It's a cafeteria style Puerto Rican influenced restaurant. They have different specials and you just pick what you want. I opted for half chicken with yellow rice and a macaroni salad. It was very tasty and way generous on portions. Definitely can split with 2-3 people. Prices were reasonable. Will return.

$4.50 tostones. One of them had a hard center. But otherwise decent.

Stopped here because I was craving tostones. They were good for the most part. One of them had a hard center. I saw them pull them from the freezer before frying them, so I don't know if they were bought from a supplier, or made there and frozen for later. Either way they were decent, but I wouldn't necessarily rush back here for more.

The food was pretty decent! I got it in takeout. I the rotisserie chicken was a bit saltier than I would like but the flavor was definitely seasoned well. The meat was also very tender! The beans and rice were also pretty decent! I enjoyed the tostones a bit more than the batatas, but it's more because I enjoy the texture a tostone has more. Overall, it's pretty decent and I would give everything an average of 3.5 (if I could give a half star)

This was not a hit!! Staff looks and acts miserable! Quit if you don't like to serve! WRONG INDUSTRY! The place is supposedly known for their rotisserie chicken. It needed flavor! Super dry and lukewarm at best. Trifongo- very good, a little dry Mofongo- Good Rice and beans- excellent- old school Ribs- horrible and dry. Chicharron de pollo- good flavor but barely hot Overall the experience was underwhelming!

    Awful

OMG I went here for lunch and ordered a shrimp Mofongo it was awful very high in salt mofongo was dry and the girl gave me mayoketcup for the sauce the price 19.00 but you can get better somewhere else cuz it was awful the soda machine they don't ever wash it I had a drink and it tasted like dirt . Low quality food no bueno

We don't have any good Puerto Rican food in Clermont. So we made the trip to East Orlando and took a friend's recommendation. Idk how this place only had 3 stars on Yelp. Our food was great, my boyfriend was in search for Puerto Rican steak and he found it. I love hot bars so you can see the food because I thought I was gonna go for the steak too till I saw the beef stew. I was sold, I tried their mac salad and loved it too! So I highly recommend it. The place was larger than I was expecting as well. I'm not a mofongo fan but there is a sign up that says "mofongo experts" and best Puerto Rican food since 2005. Let's just say I wish I had known about this place since 2005! I'd be a regular. It was worth the drive and I'll be back.

BBQ Ribs Costillas w/mixed veggies & yellow rice $10.25

Most of the protein we had were over cooked and not really pleasant. Thought this would be a chance to try something that we have not had before, Puerto Rican. I would definitely try Puerto Rican food again, but probably not from Matt's. I would definitely get the BBQ Ribs and Chicken and skip the rest. We ordered a couple of combo meals to take back to our hotel. I will breakdown each protein. BBQ Chicken - whole chicken leg, really moist and flavorful. The BBQ sauce provided a sweet glaze on the skin. BBQ Ribs (Costillas) - sweet smoky sauce. Ribs are tender and juicy. Really good. The best thing ordered tonight. Fried Chicharron Frito (Deep Fried Port Belly) - the skin is too hard to bite down on, too bad. That is usually the best part, but this time its tooth breaker. The underlying meat is pretty good, its moist. THe skin blocked all the fire allowing the meat to become moist... at least that is what I hoped. Fried Pork (Carne Frita) - way too dry... over cooked... did not even try to finish. Now the side dishes: Mofungo - sweetened fried mashed plantains. Great warm and sweet dish that would have went well with more savory dishes. Mixed Veggies - over cooked steamed veggies (carrots, cauliflower & broccoli) Rice - both white and yellow were prepared properly.

Not a bad stop. Interesting food choices and good prices, although the food could've been hotter.

I arrived on a Friday evening and there was only a couple in front of me, but I couldn't understand why it was taking so long for the multiple (at least 4!!) staff members trying to get their order since they were speaking in Spanish. Slowly there were more customers coming in waiting behind me, and finally one of the 4 staff members stopped standing there and finally asked me to take my order. I had 1/4 rotisserie chicken with 2 sides, which I chose yellow rice and mixed vegetables. The yellow rice was a bit salty for my taste, while the mixed vegetables were over cooked. The chicken was ok. I also ordered a chicken noodles soup, which was super oily and was not appealing at all. I think the food quality needs to be improved while the staff, who were all very nice and friendly, need to be better trained for better efficiency in helping customers.

(9/5/2023) We got an delivery order to our workplace during the workweek. My boricua co-worker was very interested in trying this place out and she was looking forward to the campesino-style food. I'm a persistent over-orderer since I want to try all the things. I got a quarter roasted chicken, it was initially moist, seasoned on the salty side. I basically did dunk everything in garlic oil, as I do love the garlic oil. I enjoyed the boiled yucca, with garlic oil. The mofongo was super dense and somewhat bland and very starchy. It may just be that I do not really like mofongo. I've been trying it over and over again just to check if it's me (and I think it's me, also, I am not boricua). Overall, it was an OK meal.

When you walk up to the truck you are greeted by the friendly workers who advise you to place your order on the screen and if you need assistance they are more than happy to help. Once your order is placed they will send you a text message when it's ready. They do have a little canopy area with tables and seating, but it's so hot to be outside I opted to wait and eat in my car. We waited about 30 minutes before receiving our food and once we received it you could tell everything was freshly made. We ordered a combo that came with 2 pinchos, 2 pieces of bread, 2 orders of loaded fries,2 mofongo balls. And 2 drinks. The pincho meat is big meaty chunks and well seasoned. These were some of the biggest pinchos I've found in Orlando and the price was really reasonable. The loaded fries were ok, just typical fries with bacon and cheese. These mofongo balls had good seasoning, they weren't dry at all, and the perfect portion. The garlic bread was good as well and was soft. Overall everything was great! The seasoning on all the food was perfect, the portions were more than enough, and the prices extremely reasonable. The only negative I have to say is that it took long for us to receive the food but everything was freshly made and I appreciate all the hard work they do during the extremely hot fl summer.

I'll be transparent..we spent about $80 for the two of us, and it was absolutely worth it. I was hoping I wouldn't be disappointed, and they truly delivered. We started with the fried cheese bites with guava sauce, and wow... what a perfect opener. The outside had this delicate crisp, the inside was warm and creamy, and the guava sauce added that perfect sweet‑salty balance without feeling heavy. It tasted like the kind of appetizer you savor slowly because you don't want it to end. It set the tone beautifully for the rest of the meal. My mom ordered the passion fruit juice, and the moment she took a sip, she looked at me like she'd been transported straight back to Puerto Rico. It was bright, refreshing, a little sour, and so full of flavor, not watered down, not overly sweet, just pure passion fruit goodness. It honestly made me nostalgic too, the way certain flavors can bring you home. For my entrée, I ordered the grilled chicken with a small mofongo on the side, and it was incredible. The chicken was juicy and tender which is rare because most places overcook it and it had this beautiful herb flavor from the peppers and cilantro. You could taste the freshness in every bite. The mofongo was smooth, garlicky, and perfectly seasoned. I've had a lot of mofongo in my life, and this one is easily one of the top. It had that perfect balance of texture and flavor that makes you want to keep going back for another bite. My mom ordered the mofongo with shrimp, and the shrimp were huge, plump, and juicy ..not rubbery or overcooked. The sauce tied everything together so well, and every bite felt like a memory of being back on the island. Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The wait was long, but honestly, it was worth it. Our server was attentive without rushing us, checked in at the right moments, and let us enjoy our meal at our own pace. The whole experience felt intentional and warm. If you're craving authentic Puerto Rican flavors that make you feel at home, this place is it. I would definitely come back. And next time, I'm trying even more from their menu.
