Everyone kept mentioning this spot to me so I decided I had to check it out after shopping at Whaler's Village. It's on the bottom floor in a mini food court area. There's seating inside and outside. I like how you can choose one of their signature combinations or build your own poke bowls. The menus have steps that make it easy for those who don't know how to order. I do wish the fish were marinated though because that tastes better to me personally. But of course, that would take away from the option for people to customize what they get. The nicest girl who works here named Syta is always friendly and always amazes me that she remembers who I am and always greet me by my first name. Pineapple is one ingredient you must get, after all, you are in Hawaii. Poke spot in Whalers Village...I got a small signature with ahi tuna and a few customizations to my bowl. It was pretty good, not the best poke I've ever had, but I still enjoyed it! I do wish it had more sauce - I had to add soy sauce while eating. (Note - food is a bit difficult to mix around with the style of bowl it comes in.) The staff members were a little slow with service, even with a long line of customers, but this is no big deal. They were on the younger side, and as a young worker in retail myself, I understand it can be difficult at times to manage a big crowd and get things done quickly. I do recommend coming here! I'm not absolutely crazy about poke, but there are a lot of options on the menu for sure, it goes beyond just bowls! My friend and I were walking along the walking path in front of whalers village and were intrigued by the maui poke advertisement. I had been planning to go to the pirate food truck again in front of the ABC store. We checked Yelp reviews, and decide that poke bowls for lunch would be perfect. We only saw 2 people working, not sure if it was because people ahead of us were taking their sweet time ordering. I didn't notice a name tag- but a very nice girl made our bowls for us. We each ordered the medium sized bowl because we wanted to proteins and 2 add ons. We had brown rice as our base then chose the ahi tuna and the deep fried tofu. We added avocado and edamame as our protein. They let you add some yummy toppers too- we even were able to ask for extra ginger. They had lychee- so I added some- I love them- but maybe not in my poke bowl. I do wish it had been spicier- we had taken it to go and eaten farther down the beach- so it wasn't close to go back and ask fir some spice. I felt it didn't have any. Next time, I will ask for a wasabi blob to mix in. I also noticed they had hand rolls that looked good as well. Also boba drinks. My friend and I both enjoyed our bowls- I plan to be back. Hoping the line doesn't take as long next time- we did wait about 25 minutes, and there were only 3 parties ahead of us. They change their prices and charge different prices as they see fit. Then they act like they aren't going to speak English. Your bill may be $80 one time and then $40 another (for the same items), depending on what they decide they want to charge and then they argue with you when you point this out. We almost left our food and walked out after they decided to charge us a different price, but our kids were hungry. Oh and they barely fill the bowel, with little to no rice, veggies, meat, etc. We used to enjoy coming here, but this place has changed and they are greedy by charging one price one time and then a different price the next time. In other words, they price gouge, which is unethical. Very unpleasant workers. Very disappointing and we know other people have experienced this as well, so we are speaking for them also. Their menu is pretty extensive and they had long list of ingredients, toppings, sauces to make the perfectly tasty bowl. We got the Lahaina heatwave bowl with additional unagi/eel. The salmon and unagi tasted fresh. Actually all the items on the bowl tasted fresh, and complimented perfectly and my only regret is that we didn't order a larger bowl. My first time in Maui when we passed a place called Maui Poke. We got there before it opened and spoke with the nicest guy named Shreeden, who we talked with for quite a while before opening. We returned and were lucky enough to get there before the long line began. We asked Shreeden to make us up a special bowl with the fish we chose and WOW!
