I'm going to start with the online appointment discount scam because I believe that if you make an appointment three days in advance you should not have to wait 45 minutes after your appointment to see someone working on your vehicle but that was the case here! Then there's the 10 minutes that I had to wait until someone came out of the garage and into the front office to check me in! Then I noticed the person doing the tire installation wandering around for 20 minutes looking for my tires that I had already paid for! Then I saw that there were 3 other workers standing around doing absolutely nothing and watching 1 person doing all of the work on my car. Then one of the employees that were standing around doing nothing went to help women that seemed to have a problem with her wheel and he got the wrong size socket stuck on one of her lug nuts so the one person doing work on my car had to stop and help get the socket off of her lug nut and use the right size socket which took another 5 minutes. I had made the mistake of asking them to check my brakes while the tires were off and the employee who checked the brakes came in and told me that my rotor on one side was worn, and that I needed to replace all of the rotors on the vehicle Vehicle so I asked them if they turn rotors and he said no we don't recommend turning rotors that It's better to buy new rotors and the price was going to be $1500 ,I checked Midas pricing for brakes before I went to this place and it was $790 if I had to turn all four rotors and get pads so they were trying to sell me something that I didn't need and I had to wonder how many poor souls had been ripped off by this place.I had also made the mistake of buying there windshield wipers that came with free installation and it took 2 employees to figure out how to install them and when they finally brought my car out to me , the windshield wipers were a 1/4 of the way up on my windshield so I had the two employees that installed them come out to fix the problem and they said that my windshield wipers were like that when I got there which was obviously a lie and they couldn't figure out that all I had to do was push this passenger side windshield wiper down to snap back in place so I had to do it for them! I cannot now or ever recommend this place to anyone ever! If I could give it -5 stars, I would! read more

I had that pesty low tire pressure light come on. I was attempting to check and fill tires myself at their free air machine. A very nice guy came out assisted me and saw that I had a nail in one tire and fixed it. Very nice waiting area even though I was only there a short time. I would definitely recommend. read more

I booked an appt with Mavis TIre in Lowell for Low Tire Pressure. When I got to Mavis Tire there were several people in the waiting area. I waited about 20 minutes and told the manager that I had a scheduled appt. They told me I should schedule another appt because there were so many people waiting. 40 minutes after my scheduled appt they agreed to inspect the tire. After inspecting the tire, they stated that it required a valve and would be another 30 minutes. I had another appt and told them to put the tire back on and I would get my tire fixed at another tire shop. When I left Mavis, I could hear a noise on my back tire. I asked the attendee outside to inspect it and he indicated that it was fine. When I drove away to my next appt my tire was shaking and I could not go over 30 MPH. I drove the back roads and proceeded to Tire Warehouse in Haverhill. Mavis Tire never tightened the lug nuts on my tire, and it was ready to fall off. They are negligent and do not care about customer safety protocol. I took a video of my wobbly tire. They didn't even tighten the lug nuts with their hands. I called them to address my concerns and they said I could bring the car back for repair. DO NOT GO TO MAVIS. read more

Had a tire blow out on my truck and unfortunately Mavis Tires & Brakes was the closest tire shop. After filling out an application for a credit to get the spare tire on, they got to work on the repairing the tire. When they brought my truck out the employee lost the application and wouldn't release my truck without payment. I was forced to wait out side in the 30 degree Dec weather until I called there corporate office and got my truck free. 4 hrs later, leaving their shop I was hearing a noise coming from the wheel and they had put it on wrong. 0-10 don't recommend read more

I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. Dishonest, money hungry, wannabe hustlers. I came in yesterday and the sales associate tried* taking advantage of the fact that I'm a young woman quoting me a ridiculous 700+ for 4 tires on my tiny Corolla. Unfortunately for him I'm not an idiot. I should've known when his first question was "have you looked for prices anywhere else?". Is it too much to expect honest fair prices? The worst part is he claimed the store didn't do any promotional sales so when I declined service and left I was shocked when they had the nerve to call me back claiming they could do the service for almost $100 cheaper (still overpriced because when I went on THEIR website it only cost $514 for the SAME tires). Writing this on behalf of my husband: Dropped the car off just before 9 for a set of new tires, was told I also needed an alignment. Was told it would be 1-2 hours. I returned around 11. They said they were trying to contact me, but was not able to get through and it would be an additional 45 mins. I called around 2 since I didn't hear back. They said it would be done in 10 mins. Went to get the car. Paid $852. They recommended I get a new battery and new brakes. Hopped on the highway to go home, heard and felt a lot of wobbling. I pulled off the highway to find the 4/5 bolts to my drivers side front tire were not tightened. I called them immediately to complain and they said they can meet me to tighten the bolts. Are you kidding me? I could've died driving home because you didn't tighten the screws to my tire! All they could say was sorry and they could meet me to help tighten the bolts. Luckily I had tools in my car and checked all of the tires before driving away. Clearly, someone was not doing their job. And they are recommending me go back for brakes?! No, thanks! read more

I needed 4 new tires for inspection they were the only shop in town that had my tires at a reasonable price for the entire setup. The service was exceptional and I was quoted about an hour IT WAS DONE IN about 45 min!!! Wow what service !!!! Just got two tires installed there, Nathan the assistant manger there was great. I got my tires off Amazon, paid for the install from there but then had some extra stuff we asked him to do. He handled it all with grace (it was a wee bit complicated). When we came back there was a hiccup but was addressed and fixed promptly. I plan on going back when I need two more tires! Flat tires are stressful. There is no way around it. I had never been to Mavis before, but they were the only place around that had time and the product that I needed. The manager called me to let me know the tires were in AND they could get me in a day before i was scheduled. Everyone I encountered was pleasant, and jovial. You could tell they enjoyed their work. I havent seen that often in auto repair. While i was there, the manager kept me up to date. There were a few unexpected things that needed addressing and they told me how long I could afford to wait and made the only critical item clear so I didnt have to wonder about what I needed to focus on. Overall, my experience was better than it should been. You all now have a new loyal customer!! read more

I needed to replace one of my tires right away and a friend told me about Mavis, since I'm new to Lowell and didn't know where to go. I called Mavis that morning and asked for a quote to replace my tire. The person I spoke with gave me a price that I was happy with. He said he'd email me the quote and I could bring my car in that day. When I got to Mavis I told them I had an appointment but that I never received the email confirmation. The gentleman at the front found my name in their system, though. He started running through what the cost would be and he ended up giving me a quote that was $25 more than the quote on the phone. I told him I was quoted a different price and he said that I shouldn't have been quoted that price. His exact words were: "They always do this to us," in reference to the Mavis call center giving people wrong quotes. I said I'd just take my car somewhere else and that's when he was like, "No, no. We'll do it for the price you were quoted." So I was already turned off because I felt like they were trying to hustle me. I sat in the waiting area and then the tech comes in and asks me which tire he should change. I had already told them which tire needed changing when I came in. About 20 minutes later they told me my car was ready. As I was making payment I asked the guy at the front how much an oil change would be for my girlfriend's car. He said $92. Seriously? That oil better be made of gold. Obviously, I said "Thanks, but no thanks." Overall it wasn't a good experience. And when I got home I looked carefully at the new tire...and I'm not sure they didn't give me a used tire. I'll definitely never go back to Mavis. read more

It took an hour and a half just to rotate my tires and when it was done, two of the wheel covers were covering the tire plugs so I couldn't even put air in my tires without undoing all of the lug nuts!! Whatever you do, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE!!! The star here is only to serve as a warning. read more

I took my vehicle to Mavis to get 4 brand new tires. While Mavis had my vehicle they drove it into their lift and damaged my side skirt. I showed the manager on duty the damage and he told me to get two quotes and send them to Mavis. I did this and they have been unresponsive. Completely unacceptable and I will tell everyone I know to stay far away from Mavis. Not only did they damage my vehicle but have yet to do anything about it. Please send me a check Mavis. I shouldn't need to pay out of pocket to fix my vehicle because the people you hire are incompetent. read more

Waited an hour only to find out the tech couldn't do a camber adjustment of my tires because the front end jack on the drive on lift was broken. Worse was no outlook on when it would be fixed. Had to take my vehicle elsewhere. At least if they knew when they were going to get it fixed they could have fixed the toe and I could take it back to fix the camber free of charge within 3 months. read more

Discount prices comes with consequences. The only thing this business has going for itself is that they're open Sundays. You know theres a problem when everytime you go here theres new people working behind the counter. Went in to have a leak fixed. They said they were under staffed and it would be a long wait. I said ok so i'll come back in a few hours. Later that day I come back; they check me in. Keep in mind I'm here to have a flat fixed that they repaired a few months ago. The plug loosened up. While I'm in here I ask if they could rotate my tires. They said that shouldn't be a big deal and its a free service they do. So i'm sitting in the waiting room right near the big glass window. They fix my flat. Did they rotate my tires? No. When my truck was done I brought it up to the manager that they didnt rotate my tires. I watched them do my truck RIGHT THROUGH THE WINDOW in the lobby. Now he's all shooken up and worried. He checks with the mechanic out back. Come to find out they didnt rotate them although the slip says to. So he offers to have my keys back and rotate them. I politely decline. I'm stuck paying $24 to have a tire plug replaced that they installed 3 months ago. Poor install im assuming? Now I ask the manager..." how long is this one guaranteed for?" He replies" its not guaranteed... it's a temporary fix...you need a new tire". These tires are less than 1 year old and I bought them from Mavis. So what? I need a new tire to only run over another nail 2 months down the road? Everytime you get a flat you need a new tire? Plugs are only short term fix? Im all set with them working on my truck. It makes you wonder what parts and jobs they're charging people for and not even doing. I don't recommend them and would only use them in an emergency situation. read more

Lowell, MA : One week ago, we (and our dog) were in the middle of a move, was across the street when we got a flat tire. We rolled over to Mavis Tire in Lowell and was told by one of the counter help that it was a 3 hour wait. We contacted AAA auto service to see if they could help us. When AAA showed up "D' came out and got involved and immediately assisted us with the purchase of a new tire. We truly appreciated D's help while we were in the middle of a move. Called in the morning and made an appointment. The guy on the phone made it sound like it was wide open. So I make a 10:30'. When I arrive they say it's an hour and half later they can take the car. They said they tried to call, total BS. He said the whole thing would be done in 3 hours. It's 3 now and I'm still waiting. I'm top of that, when I arrived he took my keys and said come back in about 3 hours. He didn't even ask me what I wanted for tires or put the sale together. Just terrible. I had made an appointment the day before coming for 12pm. So I arrived at 12pm and they tell me they can't take me until 1pm so that was fine. I left and came back at 1pm. When I arrived at 1pm my car wasn't taken until 2pm. Once my car was in the garage they didn't start working on it until 4:15pm. I sat there for 45 minutes more and didn't end up leaving until 5pm. A terrible experience. No communication, no organization, no professionalism. I don't recommend this place for ANYONE unless you have all the time in the world to sit around because that's what they make you do. read more

I called on 10/19/22 to set-up an appointment and whomever answered the phone said just to come down at 8am on 10/21/22. Well I showed up and there wer 2 people in front of me and it took at least 1/2 hour before I was gotten to. When I told the guy what was needed to be done to my vehicle. That is when the confusion started. He never asked for my name or phone # which I think would bring up what type of vehicle I had with the history. I asked for the tire rotation and he asked me if I had the tires with me? Then he asked me what type oil is used in my vehicle? I know but that info should all be in the system. After I gave him some more info he asked me again what type oil? Thai is when I just said I am good. Thanks and have a good day. So work was never done and I ended up calling Nashua,NH to set up appt for the next day. ***My thoughts are if the manager is not going to be in then you need to put someone there with expierience on running the store. Had an appointment scheduled for Sunday @10, but I came in on Saturday afternoon hoping they could do it then because I need it done sooner. I called Sunday morning before 10am, they told me it'd be done in just a little bit and would call me. I did not it receive a call back, I decided to go to the shop, when I got there, no customers in line, I was the only one, someone at the front desk talking on the phone with his back toward the front, a few minutes later he turned around and made a gesture that he'll be with me in a minute. Not to be nosey but I overheard his conversation about the workers not showing up for work. A few minutes later while still on the phone, another call came in, he hung up and up the call, and he had same conversation. A few minutes later, maybe a little less than 10 minutes since I walked into the shop, he decided to hung up the call and asked how can he help me. I asked for a status on my car, he walked out to the back and asked the workers, he came back and he said it'll about TWO MORE hours. I kept my cool and explained to him I dropped off the car since yesterday. He then com back and said it'll about 45 minutes. This was my first time and I'll be my last here. read more

Was told to be there at 330 which I was 5 minutes early and my car sat in the parking lot for 2 hours before it entered a bay. Can you imagine my dismay?! I brought my daughters car there with a flat tire. The rim was seized on and I could not get it off. They spent an hour and half getting the tire off and repairing it. They said no charge just a tire repair. They were awesome, they even worked for an hour after closing time. I will definitely go back next time I need service. read more
