I did a lot of price comparing and I found that Mavis had the same prices as the big box stores plus they install the tires where many of the big box stores do not. The manager, Leo was friendly professional helped with understanding the pricing of the different tires. Dropped my car off at 3pm on 6/2 for an oil change. They told me it would take 1.5- to 2 hours. For an oil change?? Jiffy lube does it in like 15-20 min. but decided to just get it done there since I was already there and it's by the house so I could just do some errands. Came back at 5 and they are still not done. They said there's only 1 guy working in the back but for some reason 3 guys sitting in the front just talking. I don't blame the 1 guy in the back working. Not even the 3 guys sitting in the front because they are probably not trained or hired to work on cars. I just know I won't be back. I got my car back at 5:20pm. I appreciated the ease of online booking for what i assumed was a bad muffler. After a short wait, the courteous technician pointed out the actual problem causing the vibration noise i was hearing. He said my muffler was in great shape. He didn't push extra repairs and there was no charge for the diagnostic. Prices were competitive but communication was off. I purchased tires online and set up an appointment to come in but when I showed up to the appointment the product hasn't arrived yet. This was a huge waste of my time and it was never communicated to me. The actual installation took a long time which was a little frustrating. Also the bathroom bwas disgusting and had no soap, paper towels, or toilet paper. read more

This store does not keep its word. Promised to hold my used tires for a week to allow time to find a place for them. Just called after 2 days giving me 5 hours to pick them or they would be thrown out. He told me his higher ups (who apparently don't care about honoring their word) needed them gone today. I would have made arrangements sooner if they just told me from the start they couldn't. Being the middle of the work day I had no way of making it up there before close so now the tires are being tossed. Their tires are more expensive than alternatives and service is poor. Not worth the premium they charge. Will not go here again and would recommend you save yourself the trouble of dealing with them. read more

Made a 10:00 Appointment to have TPMS installed on some new tires and rims... They said that was a good time for them. When I arrived they lost or misplaced my appointment. Had to wait over 2 hours only to hear that they could not do the install because the tires were too big. I specifically told them that these were large 37" truck tires and they said over the phone that was no problem... Went to another tire shop a couple miles south on Milwaukee Ave and they had the job done in 40 minutes. I would never do business with Mavis Tires & Brakes. Avoid this place at all costs. Scheduled appointment. The appointment was confirmed for 1 hour to install by this shop. 4 tires mounted and balanced took 3hrs. Not even exaggerating. I was a mechanic when I was younger just an fyi. Than says wheels will be torqued to spec as I watched the guy just hit the lugs with impact gun only. Wow!! Shows they Don't care and obviously hate their job. Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

Came in kinda close to close with a slow leak. They got me in without an appointment. They gave me no confirmation that my tire was able to be patched, or pricing, until after the tire was already patched, which was fine because I would've gotten my tire fixed regardless of how it needed to be done. Would've been nice to know what was being done and the cost before they went ahead though. The patch was pretty pricey compared to competitors. I think somewhere just above $20 with tax. Overall I probably wouldn't return unless it was again my only option read more

Not worth any more of my time or money. In October 2021, I called in an order for 4 new tires. Appointment arranged. They told me that I had ordered the wrong tires. After realizing that they had made the error, they managed to get the tires I had ordered in from a different store. The manager, Leo, handled it well. Second visit, they put on the correct tires et al and did some other work. Road trip soon after and a sensor goes bad. I called and told them. They said they would correct. Car goes in. They can't replicate the error. Sensor not replaced. Next road trip, sensor error again. I called; they said they would correct. Car brought in today to replace bad sensor. Left without it being fixed. Explained history to clerk. Was told that the manager, Leo, was off today and that the clerk couldn't reach him. Clerk suggested that I come back again when Leo was there. Went to another place to get the sensor replaced. 3/3/22 Called the number that was provided in response to the post. Explained that the issue was not about failing to honor an appointment. Read the post to the person since he said he could not read it. Was told that Jay, a regional manager, would be in touch by end of day. read more

I bought new tires in October 2022. Here I am in May 2023, sitting on a curb waiting to get a flat patched. If this place was an app, I'd say it is extremely NOT user friendly. There is no comfortable place to sit while I wait the "about 2 hours" according to Lionel V., Manager. He was brusk and impatient with me when I called to try to make an appointment. He was the same as I hobbled into the "store" (I have a recent knee injury). This place is ok if you want tires and nothing but tires. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Brought a set of wheels to get tires taken off. The Technician that Leo appointed to do the job did not seem fond of this as he was on his way to lunch. Very unprofessional. I watched to make sure they were taken care of and nothing went bad but was told to go into the waiting room. About 2 minutes later the technician bent my wheel trying to take the tire off and said he didn't feel comfortable taking the rest off because all of them will bend. Wheels were not bent before I brought them there but the tech decided to state other wise. Leo was professional about it and said the wheel will get repaired. The claim was denied by Jay, the regional manager and after calling him multiple times and never being put though, I have no other options but to take my loss and pay out of pocket for their Techs mistakes.
