While it does seem they sell a decent product, my issue stems from how they treat the people that work for them. The person I was helped by was later fired, when I reached out it seems it was in favor of having family that doesnt know the job take over the role. HR had their family member fill the role, HR, imagine the person you go to when you have troubles is willing to replace you with family, yuck. I verified this by open and honestly asking the technicians that are employed by them and by witnessing the training off the replacement and her later transfer to the location where se is now. I honestly hate companies like this, they are whats wrong with millennials and America these days. Selfish people like this means they wont be taking care of you the customer in the end they definitely dont have that type of sensitivity since the person they let go has 3 kids and was a single income mother. Ok, nobody should patronize companies that dont value the promise you make as an emoloyer. In the US you cant make a company hire proper candidates but in EU hiring the person they did for the job is illegal because it puts others at risk. Just know if people continue this way we will lose this freedom in the name of regulation of conpanies like this. Troy did an excellent job being personable & relatable. I purchased a 2002 Toyota Tacoma, love it so far. My only gripe with this dealership was the Finance Manager, Christy Coyner. She has been considerably rude since day 1 of having to deal with her. She has extremely poor customer service and she WILL make you feel like a burden if she feels the slightest inconvenience from you. I I formally spoke to the Manager. We'll see if she gets talked to. I am not the one to usually do this but I felt that it needed to be done. I think Max Auto Plus needs to sincerely consider someone more fit and kind. Again, Troy was a pleasure to work with but Christy Coyner the Finance Manager was absolutely terrible to deal with. Please re think if you are considering from buying from here because Christy was an absolute nightmare to deal with. You treat people with RESPECT especially when they are buying from you. I had to pay a $1,000 down payment and they let me break it apart through 2 separate payments. The first time I made my payment she was "too busy" to take it and had a sales rep write down my debit card number and charge me "when she can get to it" which I didn't feel comfortable doing in the first place but I wanted to make sure the payment went through when it needed too. Today I went to make my last 2nd payment towards the down and I had mentioned over the phone to Christy that my debit card was compromised a day after I let someone there write it card info down.... interesting? So I got my card shut down and replaced through Chase. As I'm on the phone today telling her I have a new card number and would like to process the payment through the phone instead of when she can "get to it" she tells me that she doesn't feel comfortable with me giving her my new card number through the phone call and wanted me to TEXT her a picture of my new debit card to her phone number, HELL NO. After I just told you that my card was compromised? So I drove down there and made the payment to the manager, BTW he didn't check my name on the card like Christy oh so insisted on doing lol. Unprofessional and unorganized. BTW as I am expressing my concerns to Troy before grabbing management a sales rep over hears me and mentions "this wouldn't be the first time" Sounds like people that work there are aware of her terrible customer service. Christy, I'm not sure if this is the job for you.. If you can't be simply kind then honey find something else. Maxx has been a pretty good dealership to us. We have been buying cars from them since they were guaranteed cars. My parents probably bought their first one over 20 years ago. We have bought 3 cars since they've been Maxx autos. Hopefully we will be getting our 4th from them soon if we can figure out how to make a new truck work. Some of their salespeople are better than others. I highly recommend Jeff. Jeff has been there since we started buying from them so many years ago. He has always been honest, upfront and not at all pushy. Bought a car 05/23/2016. Two days later check engine light comes on for O2 sensor. Salesman said taken care of, light reset. Six days later light comes on again for cylinder four misfire. Mechanic estimates $300 to tune up, despite salesman saying car had a tune up done. Mechanic says maybe will solve problem, not guaranteed. 07/18/2016 car completely dead, in shop with electronic failure, estimated $200-$600 for diagnosis only, not repair. No help what so ever from Maxx Auto Plus despite earlier promises from manager to check with owner about covering the cost of the initial estimate, and no response back to complaint filed with the attorney general's office. I recently purchased a 2000 Silverado truck from Maxx Auto Plus. The truck was in beautiful condition with only 70k miles on it. It had 20" rims and tires that looked like new. It had a few problems (wheel balance, somewhat rough idle) but I accepted these as normal for a nearly 20 year old vehicle. Two days after I brought it home I took it to the tire dealer to get the tires rebalanced. I was surprised when they didn't charge me but warned that these tires are 13 years old, UNSAFE, and need to be replaced ASAP! While the truck had some other problems (coolant and oil leaks) that is on me for not doing a through enough inspection. But who reads the dates on tires when they shine them up so they look like new?? Now it will cost me $700+ just to make this truck safe enough to drive on the highway! I know used car dealers sell most of their vehicles "as is and shown", but I expect them at least to sell you something safe! No so here.......so as the saying goes, buyer beware!! read more

I purchased a 2016 Cadillac ATS "Twin Turbo" from Maxx in Puyallup. We were told by the sales person that this was a twin turbo after I specifically asked him at his desk. He assured us it was and we bought the car. I took the car In for service at Graham Auto Service and he informed us that it was NOT a twin turbo or even a single turbo. We returned to Maxx and spoke with both Wayne, the salesman and Ron the manager. They were both satisfied that we were misled and Ron said the owner would contact us. A week passed and no call. I called Ron to find out how they would rectify the problem. In short, he said it was my problem and they would do nothing to fix their mistake. Maxx auto is an underhanded and shifty business and I would not be surprised if they placed the twin turbo stickers on themselves. I have contacted a lawyer and we plan on taking them to court to expose them for the fraudulent company they are. They could have taken care of the problem themselves... Now they will not only be paying to rectify the problem, they will be incurring my court fees. DO NOT BUY FROM MAXX AUTO AT ANY COST. CROOKS!!!! read more

Do not I repeat DO NOT GO HERE! My husband and I were in the market to purchase a new car so we came here with an appointment to look at a car. First off the employees are EXTREMELY unprofessional talking about another client in front of us while the client was outside looking at cars about how much she made and how she can barely afford the car, being very pushy for someone to purchase a car, then comes our experience , the sales rep we had named TROY was promising us things that he couldn't uphold, the dealership took our money and title to our trade in and we went home with NOTHING and not to mention had us pay for insurance for the car as well!, to go home with NO NEW CAR they took 6 days holding our money and even had us sign papers making us think we were getting a car at the agreed upon price, the sales rep was messaging us making it seem liked he was working on our deal when in fact he was not even there that day. He promised us to come and drop the car off to us, we drove almost an hour for 5 days to keep being told they are working on it. They kept stringing us along to where we finally had ENOUGH ! we wanted our money back then when my husband was told by Troy it was ok to come pick up the money that day, we get there to be told there was nobody there to issue our refund!! So then we had to come back yet again! Missing days from work and a huge head ache ! That is not customer service at ALL!!! They just care about a sale not if the customer is happy they wanted to push another car onto my husband just to get him into a car not the one he wanted. My experience with other car lots have never been like this one day then you drive away with a car ! These people are shady do not trust the reviews on google they have people write a good review to get 5 stars before people even get into a car! And try to talk their way out of their horrible customer service by stating that the employees are new ! I will never return to this car lot, a couple months ago I graduated high school and decided to start looking to buy my first car, I started searching and found this lot with the car I have always wanted, i but this car and I think everything is going to be amazing but unfortunately that did not happen 4-5 days after buying my new car it starts acting strange, at stop lights the car would surge and move even though my foot was completely on the break, so I dealt with it for a couple days hoping it would just stop and then my check engine light came on, I took my car to Chevy to do a full service on it and oil change, not only did they tell me the oil looked like it had never been changed but they also told me all the problems this car had , the front brakes and rotors were cracked , the PCV vavle had a crack in it, the intake manifold had a crack in it, it was leaking oil going to the turbo , the lists just goes in and then they told me it'll be about $1,500 to fix all of this. So my dad went down to the car lot and showed them everything that we just found out, they agreed to fix it since I hadn't even paid my first car payment yet, the following week I bring my car to their shop on their lot. Everyone was super nice they fix my car and I eventually get my car back and i go home and my dad looks under the hood and the plastic cover wasn't even placed back over my engine and one week later the check engine light came on again, I called them and told them and she told me she can look at it but they already fixed it so if anything is wrong it will be at my expense. And since they already fixed it once they didn't want to do it again. Not to mention when I went and picked up my plates and registration the young man that sold me the car looked at me with the oh shit look like he knew exactly what happened. My dad went with me to buy this car and they told him they did a 60 point inspection on this car but if they did then , they sold me this car knowing damn well what was wrong with it. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

Two weeks ago my car was stolen so I went car shopping not knowing what I wanted. I had one car in mind so we went to Maxx as they had that vehicle priced in my budget. When we got there, it was not "the car for me". Jeff approached and we explained my situation. He asked great questions about what I wanted and why. Knowing my budget he showed me a couple vehicles. One, a Suburban, was a great deal, just not for a daily driver. He encouraged me to test drive another car, which I did. I liked it, but didn't get that "at home" feeling. He showed me other cars, but never anything outside my budget. As we talked, I spotted another potential, so I test drove it. That was the one. Meanwhile, my fiancé decided to buy the Suburban. So we went there to look, and bought 2 vehicles. The whole experience was a delight, particularly considering the circumstances. I never felt pressured or mislead. So I don't usually write negative reviews, but I feel as if I should share my experience so that others might be able to proceed with caution. My husband and I were car shopping, he found one online he liked and it happened to be at this dealership. So he called spoke with Lee (who initially was really chatty but seemed friendly enough) and we scheduled to do a test drive, Lee was nice enough to come in on his day off for us to do a test drive and talk price. My husband said lee was really chatty the whole test drive, like the silence made lee uncomfortable. After the test drive was over we proceeded to talk price and about the car specs, however Lee talked about everything but.. he talked about children's immunization, a commercial for depression medication, cancer, the flu shot, for 30 minutes my husband and I were trying to ask questions related to the car and we could barely get a word in, lee didn't seem to be that interested in what we had to say nor if he was offending us with his choice of topics and opinions about things. Not only that but all of a sudden they changed the price of the car on their website to a couple thousand dollars higher than what it was initially advertised earlier that day (luckily we took a picture of the original price), then came the pressure sales of the price was only good for 24hours and he was really trying to push their in house financing when we were trying to negotiate price, we brought our own financing and wanted to stick to our budget. Needless to say lee talked us out of the sale and we ended up finding and purchasing a car somewhere else. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

When I first got there it wouldn't even start, completely dead battery! So right then and there I had a bad taste in my mouth. Finally got it jumpstarted and took it for a drive. Then Check engine light came on after we got back to lot but was still was running fine. I KNEW THEN THEY HAD CLEARED THE FAULT CODES ON THE CAR!!! Then come to find out that the rear drivers door does not open from the outside. This is kind of a common issue with certain year Volkswagens. You would think they would fix these issues before selling to a customer! I still made the purchase after getting $1000 off the purchase price And putting in writing to fix the cam sensor and the door. On the way home from the Lot the car went into limp mode when my wife was driving it because of Another fault code EPC. I ran a Vagcom code reader which is specific Fault/ Code reader for VW/AUDI on it when I got home and it came up cam position sensor. I should've walked away but I really wanted that car and I have owned a lots of Volkswagens in my life and knew that I could fix these issues. But if you are NOT somewhat a mechanic or CAN NOT work on cars this could be a very bad purchase for someone. Because dealer costs for these fixing is $$$$$$$$. The most horrible customer service I ever dealt with. No emails returned, no phone calls returned, NOTHING!!!! Now the HID Headlight burnt out and is a $350 fix at a shop which I'm gonna take care of. This is a WARNING TO YOU FUTURE BUYERS!!!! I was going to take the car back to have them work on it, BUT I DECIDED NOT TO BECAUSE THEY JUST PROVED TO ME HOW INCOMPETENT AND DISLOYAL THEY ARE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND FUTURE CUSTOMERS!!!!!!! 8/5/2018 $6000 later the car runs now! STAY AWAY! APPALLING EXPERIENCE! I purchased a car from this place. Everything went smooth. UNTIL I received a 100$ check from them for my overpayment licensing. No one even called and told me I had a check. I think no big deal. But would have been nice to know. I found out after 6 weeks later when I picked up my license plate. Keep reading. Don't have an issue after you buy a car. Because they will no longer treat you like a customer. They treat you HORRIBLE after your purchase. Just keep reading it's unbelievable the treatment i got. I accidentally threw the check out with my junk mail. Didn't realize until garbage picked up. Yes I know I lost a check. Shame on me. I think no big deal I will just call them and they will put a stop payment and reissue a check. Simple enough. I called and was told of a $30 stop payment fee. Ok I said. Erin's husband tells me he will have Erin call me later and get me a replacement check. Ok. Three days go by. No call back. I call again and speak to my salesperson Jeff. And he hasn't heard anything about the situation. But assured me Erin will call me later that day. 2 more days go by NO call. I again call and speak to my salesperson Jeff. He tells me Erin was not there she already left for the day. And to call the next morning. I call Jeff isn't there At this point I asked a manager to call me. 9 days now have passed. Still no call. Finally my 5th call I call upset and say I need to speak to a manager to file a complaint. Guy was rude and put me on hold. Which I was then disconnected. I called back again. I called from work on speakerphone. I spoke to the Manager who could careless of anything I had to say. But promised that a check would be there for me next day. I have been a business manager for over 20 years and people do lose checks. And it takes a 5 minutes to call the bank to do a stop payment. And two minutes to issue a replacement check. 10 days and 6 phone calls later. I go there you would think they would have waived the 30$ after giving me the run around and never returning my call even once. I bought a car from them for pete sakes I tell her I will be writing a review and I left 5 messages for her over 10 days. Manager (I'm assuming) comes out screaming at me and said you do a review and I will respond to it that you cussed out my sales person on your call yesterday. I said that is untrue I was upset but never cussed. He said he had recorded the phone call. I said again then you would know I didn't cuss. Unbelievable he threatens to commit slander because I said I would do a review. I checked with a family member who is an attorney and it is ILLEGAL to record a phone call without my knowledge which I already knew. Steve Sadvar was our salesman and really went above and beyond all expectations we had for a car salesman. He was friendly and up-front-- when we pointed out a car we wanted to try, he pointed out the little imperfections so we were aware (the rims had been curbed a bit)-- he was also very honest and helpful-- we test drove a vehicle whose turbo was messed up and when we told him that he asked specifically what we'd noticed wrong about it and went straight over to his mechanic to inform him. Just because we weren't going to buy that vehicle didn't mean he was going to shirk something being wrong with the other car. These cars they sell are taken care of. PROS: *not pushy, not sleazy, not "your average car salesman"-type *ALL vehicles bought get a COMPLIMENTARY 3-month/3,000 mi warranty *they do sell additional warranties *up front, very non-confrontational price negotiation *even without negotiation, their prices are very fair *goes the extra mile (example: they are a small dealership and do not yet have a detail department. Despite this, once we expressed our interest in buying, Steve moved the vehicle of our choice out of the 92 degree sun and into the shade. Maxx Auto sold my daughter a car with a tampered odometer My daughter bought a BMW from this dealership in August. She bought it with a oil leak with a promise from them to fix it. They have a 3 month warranty on their cars but what they don't tell you is they will give you the runaround for 3 months and not get your car fixed until after the warranty expires. After 3 months trying to get her car in, it broke down and then they charged her for the repairs because she was outside her warranty. My daughter decided to visit another dealership to trade in the car because it was having all kinds of mechanical problems and she is 6 months pregnant and needs a reliable car. It was at another dealership that shared with her that even though she was sold the car by Maxx Auto at 189,000 miles, it actually reported at 210,000 in 2011. When she confronted Maxx Auto, and asked them to take the car back and refund her money, they refused. She is stuck with a car she bought for $6000 that barely runs, and due to a tampered odometer, is only worth $800. I highly recommend that NO one buy a car from this shady dealership. read more

I had the car less than 2 weeks, I'm no mechanic, I could tell something was wrong with the vehicle, Jeff, the seller like sellers usually do, told me everything was gonna be fine, that they have an excellent Mechanic that will check it out and fix it, spoke with their mechanic, he said they don't give him the tools he needs and he'll do his best, Mechanic shop looked like crap, rusty tools and dim lights and all that, they "checked" the vehicle, said a fuse had blown for engine fan, more air in tires, and some other minor stuff. Left in the vehicle, it still didn't seem right. So I went to an expensive certified car mechanic, paid $200+ for a diagnostic, and guess what, all bad, brakes all bad, thermostat and water pump all bad, TRANSMISSION FAILING BAD, among other things. I was in contact consistently with Chuck their manager, he said he'll make it right, WRONG, Chuck drove my car with me in it, said the car was fine, no problems, and when I showed him the results from diagnostic at meineke, do u know what this lying Ass mf said? Their manager said that meineke is lying or their instruments are broke, all of their vehicles are fully functional and pre inspected, he won't trade me out vehicles, no repairs, I'm burnt. So I got a total lemon, repairs for vehicle cost more than the vehicle itself, the car had less than 90k miles, clean car fax, they overpriced the vehicle, lied about its condition, denies responsibility or any solution, Jeff will lie and ride with Maxx no matter what, Chuck the manager is a lier and thief, I had that vehicle less than a month and gave it back to the bank and still got charged over the amount of the vehicle (5k)... don't go there they are a hole in the wall read more

I purchased a car from Maxx Auto Plus recently and the sales people were great. They didn't push me to buy anything or make me feel uncomfortable. HOWEVER, the car itself is a different story. I'm not a mechanic, but I looked the car over and it drove and looked good. Just a few minor scratches. They mentioned it needing new tires. That was all they said, car was in great shape according to them. I negotiated the price and happily drove off with my new (to me) car. Two weeks later, and the brakes started squeaking and car would rattle. I brought it into a mechanic I've used before and trusted. New tires, brakes, new shocks and struts, and serpentine belt, spark plug, and a few other things. So because I was a dope and trusted a car dealership to be honest about the car they were selling me, I got to pay over $2000 for repairs to a car Maxx Auto Plus informed me was in "great shape".
