They were $6 each, so not the cheapest, but the Banana Walnut cookie was so yummy, it was totally worth the price. If I had a bigger sweet tooth, I might have bought a whole box, but I only managed to finish half of my cookie, even though I loved it. I highly recommend trying their cookies! read more

These have been my favorite cookies for years. The flavors are so unique and they change every month with the exception of some of her staple flavors. The cookies are massive and the quality is so high I have never had qualms about the price. There aren't a lot of shops and flavors like this for vegan out there, even in southern California. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The interior and exterior have a hot pink theme that is very fun. There are a couple of little tables and a bench outside. Plenty of parking in the lot. I have driven to San Diego from LA multiple times specifically for these cookies. I wish we would get a location up here too! read more

Wow, I was gifted with a Lemon Blueberry Crumb Cake, Carrot Cake, Texas Sheet Cake and a Chocolate Chip cookie by my sister in California after she saw this vegan bakery featured in VegNews. She said the process to ship was easy and the price fair. She was notified the minute it was left at my door. I visited Maya's Cookies again on a Sunday morning, February 1, 2026, after my mother saw a news story (KUSI) about their delicious variety. She suggested we go, and though she didn't realize I had been before, I was more than happy to return. especially with Valentine's Day approaching, and to celebrate Black History throughout the month of February. Very, very small cookie shop tucked into the corner of an anonymous office complex (though it wasn't that hard to find). The signs outside did help locate the place and told people what flavors of cookies were available. However, going into the place, the flavors were somewhat limited. I only wanted five of the flavors, which ended up being chocolate peanut butter, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, marble fudge, and chocolate peppermint bark. The girl behind the counter convinced me to get one more to make it a half dozen. Of the three flavors I didn't pick, I was most intrigued by the pumpkin cinnamon bun so I chose that one. I just had that cookie, and it was pretty good. I do have to say that these are relatively expensive cookies. I paid $30 total for six cookies, which comes out to an even $5 per cookie. Would never in a million years have gone here if I knew the cookies were vegan. Well, I'm glad I did because these are some of the best cookies in San Diego. I first learned about Maya's cookies at the Orange County Fairgrounds during a vegan festival. I bought a bunch of them and I was sold! Unfortunately, there is no store in Orange County but they do offer delivery and I have definitely taken advantage of that on various occasions and have also been gifted cookies via delivery. The cookies are so flavorful, gooey, chewy sweet and delicious. Exactly how you expect a cookie to taste. And they're big! The texture is amazing. It's hard to believe they're vegan. Also there's so many flavors to choose from especially with the rotating menu. These are truly some of the BEST cookies I've had in a long time. Had a random craving with my work bestie and so I made the drive to pick up a half dozen that we shared between us. Whenever I go to farmers markets, Hillcrest or Little Italy, I always stop at mayas booth! It's really great that they have an actual store to visit when the farmers market isn't running. It's off the 8 freeway and kind of tucked away but there are signs to help you find the store on the corner and there are few spots in the parking lot as well as street parking. The shop itself is pretty small to the point: they have merch, the cookies, and their kitchen in the back. They have revolving flavors, which is nice to have items and rotations to come back and try!! Snickerdoodle is my all-time favorite, but they are s'mores and chocolate chip are also very good. I really love this place because I am lactose intolerant so for them to be dairy free is awesome. Plus they taste amazing! Ube ice cream was good, came with a cookie and was $7 (their prices include taxes so that's the final price). I've had other cookies from them before and they're also really good. About the size of Crumbl cookies and I prefer Maya's - I love supporting small businesses and vegan establishments. A minor qualm I have is that I asked what the soft serve base was, the employee said coconut but then I went outside and saw a sign that said it was oat based (specifically Oatly brand). Luckily I'm not allergic to either, but it would be nice if they could be wary of that. I've been a fan of Mayas cookies for about 4 years now ish. First time I tried them was in a Long Beach vegan festival, then a few years back I came to their store in SD. All was good then. I just went today and I am so so so disappointed. The quality of the cookies seem the same but, there are less options now and at 12:40 pm there was only 4 cookies to pick from. The most disappointing thing was the cashier. She was a white tall woman and for a small business, she is a bad representation and seemed like she did not want to sell (that's a saying we have in Spanish). First, she sounded like it was a chore to sell cookies just not welcoming super bland. There was a limited amount of cookies and we would have waited for the rest but she didn't say when they would come out or if we stuck around then they'd be ready. I paid $33 for my cookies and gave her a $100 bill and she was so slooooow in doing the math. Customer service and availability of cookies are down and down bad. I wouldn't usually mind the dark ambience in the store if the cookies and experience was like I remembered but now it just adds to a depressing vibe. I will unfortunately no longer be recommend this place as I have for years. I will see if next time the quality and customer service is better. It sucks to see the quality and customer service go down in a place I loved. For an experience like this, might as well go to any other store for some cookies. read more
