No waitress / waiter service. Pick up a tray, and go through the line. Premade b'fast items or made-to-order omelets. Daily specials. We all finished b4 I remembered to take pictures. EW made a scene. His special apparently included either a water or piece of fruit. He forgot to take it b4 I paid. He went back for an orange later, and snuck past the cashier. He's now on camera as pilfering fruit. We need to beat a hasty retreat. See ya!!! read more

Food may have been great in the past, but they have hired a concessionaire and last summer it was expensive and barely edible. I sincerely considered giving them a 1. I definitely wouldn't recommend. Example quesadilla was a microwaved soft taco with American cheese no sauce don't remember the price but I'm thinking $10-12. Entrees would have been thrown in garbage by Gordon Ramsay. Hospital staff noted quality decline and some said that they would not eat there. Building 3 likewise not good and pricey. If you can drive further East to the shopping mall on East Mayo. For a hospital cafeteria, this is one of the better ones. It was late on a Saturday evening, not long before closing time, when everything was pretty quiet. I ordered a mushroom burger and fries and a cup of tomato bisque. The burger was really very good and the tomato bisque was superb. I hope you don't have to eat here, but if you do, you will find an excellent selection of dishes at lunch time. Parking can be challenging even though the parking lot is huge. Not many fresh and healthy options here. Surprised for a medical facility. Salad options only had fried breaded chicken as a protein. Brisket was greasy. Chicken was over seasoned and salty. Collard greens so salty I couldn't eat them. Corn casserole dry and tasteless. Pricing was decent. Went offsite the rest of the days. Nice patio option to eat outside though. And when the coffee kiosk is open, great mochas, but you cannot tip with a credit card. read more

Not bad but not great. But I guess it's good hospital food. I like the chicken tenders. I got the onion rings, it wasn't to bad but after eating a couple it's just to much fried food. My brother got the soup and he didn't like it. My mom got the cauliflower and cheese soup. Wasn't bad but not my favorite. My mom likes the grilled chicken sandwich. You can ask for a sample to try. Hospital food and Hospital Cafeteria food have been given a bad rap over the years. I've eaten here many times, and have also been an inmate next door as well. The food is good. Not Talking Stick Buffet good, but Three Stars, A-Okay good. You will also find the Barista Coffee Bar is better than the Green Mermaid in many ways. I've never seen or eaten anything that has been wilted or gone bad. I have watched however, them taking the temperature of the the food they are cooking, to make sure it's done. But everything here is good. If on the other hand you want something more gourmet, that has a certain "je ne sais quoi ", then get in your car and drive two minutes to Desert Ridge and eat at MiDiCi Pizza. BTW, No lettuce or tomatoes have been harmed in the writing of this review! read more

So we finally got the chance to go and try the Impossible Burger and I have to tell you just based on the burger quality and size it is the best I have EVER had. This really is not a bad pit stop if you are on the area. The sandwiches you build. You pick it they make it. Great bread and the portions are very generous. Everything is very reasonably priced and there are every from soups, sandwiches, entrees and snacks galore. Of course, you have to remember where your at, as there are many patients with differing needs that done here, as well as the medical team. The staff here are always super nice and helpful. So, if you have any questions, dont be afraid to ask. There is also an outdoor patio with umbrellas; great when it is not so hot outside like today. I would say that there is a little something for everyone to enjoy. In the words of David Dennison, how SAD that this place is not what it used to be. Food quality has taken a significant nosedive and it's obvious that the kitchen had been hired out to some sort of other company. On top of that, the prices have gone up substantially so they no longer feel like a good value. Eggs are rubbery. Breakfast potatoes are tiny little pieces that have been deep fried and therefore basically are crunchy French fries. Raw broccoli pieces in salad bar are enormous (who would eat these?) and less than fresh and cherry tomatoes completely without flavor. So SAAD! read more

Ate here on a Saturday afternoon and the espresso bar was closed as was the deli sandwich section which left us with the grill. I was okay wIth that, I ordered a burger and the cook pulled out a burger from the metal warming container and then threw it on the grill. Come on! At least he did not microwave it! Also ordered a hot dog and it came with a pickle, so I ate it Chicago Style which was not bad. Had a side of onion rings which were cold. The burger bun was hard the burger meat itself did not do anything for me, the onion rings were stiff and cold and the hot dog was no better than QT. Maybe I ate there on a bad day because it was bad, for the people that ate here and praised the food I think I ate in a different place because eating at Good Sam's cafeteria with roaches and all was a lot better than what we experienced. read more

Not bad for a hospital cafeteria....it's setup like a typical cafeteria with a grill for burgers and sandwiches, a station for the entrée and all the other areas are peppered with snacks, drinks, coffee, etc. The choice selection is plenty but for a hospital there is still a lot of questionably unhealthy food here. Not necessarily the hospital's fault because well people are going to want what they want, but I think there could be a bit of a more enthusiastic nudge to help people with their impulses. Employees, volunteers, and patients... I eat here Monday through Friday, sometimes for breakfast and lunch. They deviate from the typical stereotypical hospital food. They serve high-quality food for a fraction of the price of what you would get any restaurants. Employees also get discounts. They have three different cafeterias at the Phoenix campus - hospital, clinic building for patients, and clinic building for staff. On a typical day, they serve several sauteed dishes, salad bar, pizza, deli bar, and pastries. Meals macronutrients and calories are posted for people to track. There are also baristas to make Starbucks coffee. They also have farmer markets groceries available in the refrigerator. The cafeteria staff always have a positive vibe and makes the highlight of my day. read more
