This place is awesome!! From the moment my fiance and I walked though the door at 8:30pm it was great. The hostess greeted us with a huge, genuine smile. She talked to us about our day and was truly engaged. I was wearing my Applebee's Manager shirt and she made conversation about that which was awesome. The server came over immediately and offered a margarita which I ordered. The team work in this restaurant was incredible. A very nice man that was not our server came over and delivered the chips and salsa which was very tasty. The salsa was spicy and I loved that and the chips were warm and fresh. The margaritas were good but the meal wasn't. My husband ordered tacos & I got the Camerons mojo d ajo. Per the hubby, tacos weren't anything to sing about although he did enjoy shredded beef. The shrimp I had were cooked ok but the onions & mushrooms were absolutely under cooked. I asked the waitress to have the veggies cooked more. OK, so you aren't going to have authentic Mexican food when you eat here, but it's still yummy!!! I love the tortilla soup. I used to go here a lot with a group of friends, and we always had a good time. The waiters got to know us and were very friendly and attentive, refreshing our drink, chips and salsa supply constantly! Ew, ew, ew. This Mazatlan is so disgusting. The restaurant itself is dirty (don't even get me started on the bathrooms) and the food isn't good either. One time I ordered a chicken enchilada and there was a pretty big chicken bone still inside it. I asked the waitress about it and she just kind of shrugged and looked at me. She didn't offer to take it back and have it remade or just comp my meal. I haven't been back since that incident and I I wouldn't go even if you paid me. read more

My first time here and what a wonderful experience, we had a great waiter and received great ideas on what to order. The food is a tad more expensive than the area warrants but the food was tasty. I'm suprised the ratings are so low for this place! It wasn't amazing but it really wasn't bad! I got the chicken burrito - delicious! The one major complaint I had was my drink - I ordered a raspberry daquari and it was terrible - NO flavor. It tasted like crushed up ice! I sent it back and they took it off the bill no problem. I had a coupon from one of those entertainment books, so a friend and I came here after our search for ugly xmas sweaters. We sat in the bar as it was happy hour. As soon as I sat down I showed the waitress my coupon and she says she can honor the coupon unless her manager is there and she thinks he will be in around 4pm it was about 3:15 so I was hopefull. I don't know if that girl was working the bar herself but the service was terrible. Ordering our drinks took forever , getting our drinks took forever , getting to order took forever. Her attention was not on us as we ordered as my friend and I both got the wrong order. No time to complain we had to get to work so just ate food and let it go. When the check came the waitress told us that her manager was not there yet and that he is the one who can accept the coupons. I guess my friend and I will just have to call to see when he is working next time. The food was ok probably would have been better if it was brought out sooner. Meat tastes like it came straight out of a can. We went here and ordered two bean and rice burritos. There weren't many vegetarian options on the menu. Then we get our food and begin to wonder-- is this vegetarian? So we asked our (super nice and helpful) waitress. Nope, everything on the plate has lard in it. We paid for our meal and threw the food away. But honestly? Even if it had been vegetarian, I don't know that I would have eaten that $7 burrito. It appeared to be a tortilla gently folded around some rice, beans and cheese, with more of the same on the side. That's technically not a burrito. I may be spoiled because I just moved from California, but eww. The waitress informed us that they also make vegetable burritos that are vegetarian. One Colorado and one verde which is usually my favorite. Today the sauces were mixed up. The verde inside had Colorado on top and the Colorado inside had verde on top. This is our most visited Mexican restaurant mostly in part because we live so close. The drinks are mediocre but the food is a notch up. It's not spectacular but I always leave ready for a nap and try my hardest to eat it all. The service is TERRIBLE, they don't bring chips and salsa until you order like they expect everyone to "dine and dash" or mooch free chips with their watery salsa, the lady who brought us waters practically threw them on the table, the server was practically yelling at us when he came to take our order, the food was overpriced considering what comparative offerings other Mexican restaurants have in this area, they never check in on your meal and our steaks were way over cooked with no flavor, not even salt. I came down from Alaska for my daughters wedding in Spokane. While visiting with my sister in Puyallup we went to Mazatlan for dinner. They had an CARNE ASADA but on a bed of lettuce... it was awesome. I had to have ARROZ CON CAMARONES... (lots of leftover) It was so fantastic that it was all I could think about for days. We went back the day before I left for Spokane for the wedding. I even had leftovers to eat before the long drive. I wish they were in Alaska I would be there at least once a week. Amazing service and wonderful employees. Their food is great, drinks are strong and everything is fairly priced. From the busers (chip and water helpers) to the waiters and owners they are all so friendly. I've been going here for over 10 years and the owners always say hello and give the kids a big hug. Honestly, we go here sometimes because they make it feel like home so we just pop in and have a drink and an appetizer. Most of the veteran waiters/waitresses stop by to say "hi" and make sure we don't need anything just because. I went here for lunch I got what was supposed to be the beef burrito and cheese enchilada lunch special. The waitress obviously could not understand me very well. She seemed confused by my order. I only asked for number 13, and pointed to it. She asked "beef?". Thinking she was talking about the burrito which was listed as beef, I said yes. I ended up with beef in the enchilada, as well. I wasn't too put off, but was so looking forward to a cheese enchilada. She also didn't put in for the sour cream and guacamole that I asked for. The food was ok. Not the best, but it hit the spot. This Mazatlan was the absolute worst one I've ever been to, as I usually have excellent service at all the other locations. The server barely acknowledged us and all she did was ask for our order and drinks. Never came and checked on us or wanted to engage in a connection with her guests. Since the service was so bad, we did not tip. (I always tip) After leaving I had realized I left my phone on the table. We went back and I asked the host in the front if they had my phone. She proceeded to tell me to hold on and that her mother (our server) had taken it in to her possession since we didn't tip. She came up and made a sarcastic remark saying "oh, I thought this was my tip." I then told her to give me my phone and told her off. She was an elderly woman who should not be employed as a server. I will never go back and risk the chance to be harassed by an employee ever again. read more
