Wednesday at 6pm. Many tables left uncleaned. Slow line. While waiting and watching, in the kitchen I saw an employee building sandwiches, sneezing and wiping his nose on his hand. We placed an online order, showed up to pickup at pickup time. It took 40 minutes in the pickup line. When we got to the window the lady told us it would be 40 minutes because they were short staffed. I asked for a refund instead, and was told it would be three days before it would be refunded. If you make an online order that has some modifications to an item, you better check it before you leave... I ordered a rueben with ciabatta bread extra pastrami, and extra swiss... Got a plain jane rueben with none of the extras I selected online. The food tastes fine IF and that is IF you can get what you order!!! Almost every single time we order from here we do not get all of the food or the order is wrong. Today we did door dash and didn't receive our soups. The Dasher was nice enough to go back and get them for us and they had no broccoli and cheese soup. We substituted chicken noodle instead. The cups were about a quarter full and NO chicken and very few noodles! Sandwiches came with no pickles....yet said on the stickers.....p spear....half and half was all unsweetened tea! When we walked in there was only one person waiting in front of us and It took a teammember over 10 minutes to place our order. The counter was sticky and the cashier asked me 3 times what my drink order was. We waited over 15 min for them to bring out our order only for it to be wrong, and then waited another 10 min before we decided to get a refund and go elsewhere. I counted over 10 team members working and none of them had any sense of urgency. The restaurant was not busy when we walked in, maybe about 4 groups of people sitting down. The frustrating part is that we chose McAlister's instead of going to a sit down restaurant because we didn't want to wait a long time. We went in on Nov 25th really hungry upon going in we were greeted by a very very cold seating area went out to my car and grabbed a sweater while the rest of my family waited in line, when i came back in we noticed no one had their food people were waiting with numbers on the table, there was one person working from what i could see. there was a person in front of us, half the tables were dirty, plates still on the tables out side. in the ten min we were there no one came to the register. so we just left. I'll start with the negative and finish with the positive here, seems the proper way to do things. The bad was the 40 minute wait for a salad and soup ( this was from an online order that I already waited 20 minutes for before going to the restaurant), and that's so far beyond ridiculous it isn't funny. Now with all of that said you may wonder why the higher rating, and the answer is the quality of the food combined with speaking to the manager. The food really is great and I'm not easily impressed, so I feel that deserves credit. From speaking to the manager I gathered that most of the kids working there are mostly new so while I was extremely annoyed by the delay, I can't beat on them for being new since I was once in that position myself. Overall I do recommend this place, I just want the back of house team to pull together and focus on their respective responsibilities as it felt a bit scatterbrained. If the group working there can find the groove that each of them works in best I think they will do quite well, but until that point there will definitely be growing pains that test one's patience. read more

I really dislike giving bad reviews but I can't find anything positive to say about this place. Everything went wrong from the get go, the lady taking our order seemed to be preoccupied with something and couldn't pay attention to our order. When we have her our order, she couldn't answer the simplest question such as what kind of chips they have. We didn't get our whole order and had to ask for our missing dishes. Seems like this place is being ran by kids and lacking parental guidance. Prices are ok and the dining room was partially clean. Maybe I'm just upset from being on the road all day and tired, don't have the time or patience for their service or lack there of. read more

had McAlisters cater a birthday party for us and everything was great ! Not only looked amazing but tasted amazing also . The nachos were delicious and all the food was so good . We called an order to go in for dinner. We showed up one minute after it was suppose to be ready. They could not find our order. After holding other people up in line for 7 minutes they "found" the order but it had not been cooked yet. After 13 more minutes we got our order. The salad ended up probably being a salad from a bag .... not fresh and the sandwich was soggy.... yuch. Avoid this place. I guess they can survive with the oil boom, but there other places to get poor food at high prices. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in a couple nights ago with his family. We are vegan and most of the people there seemed to have no clue on what we could/couldn't eat and what allergens were in the food. Bobby (the manager) took it into his own hands and hooked us up with a decent meal on the house. He was very personable about the whole situation and didn't seem inconvenienced at all. He even stopped by later to see how we were doing and chatted it up with us. It was overall a suprisingly good experience. Thanks for coming through, Bobby! What a joke. I called while I was 20 minutes out of Carlsbad, so I could get my sandwich togo and be on my merry way through town. I called the first time, no one picked up. Then a second time, same thing. A third, still nothing! Finally on the forth call, someone picked up after 3 minutes of waiting. It still takes about 3 minutes to order after that and I finally get my order confirmed for my single sandwich, she says "that'll be 15-20 minutes". I had to cancel my order because I was ARRIVING AT THE STORE and I had tried calling 15 minutes ahead to avoid having to wait. No management and lazy workers We've now been here three times so you can't say we didn't give it a chance and you certainly can't say it was just a bad day .... there's obviously no management . They're very disorganized , they don't care about service and they don't care about quality of food . Each time we've stood at the desk waiting to be noticed and they just look at you like you're an alien . They carry on very important gossip and when finally made, your food will be placed on the line and will sit there until it's properly dry and cold . Also don't plan to get home with all that you ordered if you don't check and hold them accountable. I took a photo of the food sitting on the line , there was no more room left for plates . In the photo is a worker that just showed up after all that food sat for no less than 20 minutes. They saw me take a photo and started yelling smart remarks with excuses they think you care about . I hadn't eaten at Mcalister's since I lived in Charlotte NC. I got the Italian and the chicken tortilla soup. They were phenomenal. I had forgotten how much I loved eating there. I highly recommend eating there. They have something for everyone on the menu. read more
