This McDonalds is one of the newer ones in Elk Grove. Right off of I-5 so it's convenient if you are on a road trip and passing by. Parking near the entrance has some spots but there are more farther away. Drive thru entrance is around the building and there isn't a concrete barrier to guide you so you have plenty of room to navigate. Inside McDonalds is more modern looking than others. They actually have different furniture at some locations. You do have your standard tables and chairs but there is one area in which it's more of a lounge. Came in to order 2 happy meals and the cashier was super nice to us. Knowing we are adults and just want the minion toy, she made a conversation with us saying she would have done the same thing with a smile on her face. Food was the usual tasted the same as others. Nothing special just fast food. So far I have no issues with the drive thru and I hope it continues that way. read more

I figured, being on the better part of town, service would match its location. wrong. Seeing these reviews makes me wonder if management needs to be changed. Ordered from drive thru, picked up food, girl appeared to be in hurry and closed window. I waived the girl down, she pretended not to see me until i honked. I asked for a cup of water, she said she couldn't because other drinks were already in line? I asked if anyone else can get me a simple cup of water she said i would have to come in. I'm at drive thru for a reason. I drove off in utter shock at the lack of service. Ks#13 is on the receipt but not sure if that's the girl at window 2 who served me or the friendly cashier at window 1. She is a young Latina. I really hope she is talked to and customer service is strongly emphasized because she had none. Not coming to this one anymore, esp since management hasn't contacted me regarding the issue. read more

During these times it's starting to become a new habit to not go in any where to sit down and eat. I usually go to this McDonalds because it's across the street my neighborhood. I went today, ordered my food through the drive-thru, was met with a very sweet gal, who looked like she was happy to be at work. Next window, was met with a another gal also just as nice and even though they wear masks I could tell she was smiling! Said our thank yous and I was off. Got home took a bit of my burger and the burger was piping hot! And so wear the fries! I can't remember when I've gotten any fast food where the burger was piping hot! Or the fries! So thank you to the young ladies at McDonalds this hot afternoon, making my dinner run delicious! Definitely My McDonalds! read more

I would give zero if I could, one star is too good. They consistently get my order wrong, ask me to wait in the parking lot after waiting through a long line, or the ice cream machine is broken. Once they had no carbonated drinks. But, the icing on the cake was being served raw hamburger. Yes, you heard right and I have the photos to prove it. Two raw quarter pounder meals. I drove back and the manager didn't bother to look, but did give me two cooked burgers and a free fry for my trouble. I called corporate and what did they do? Had the same manager call me to see if I wanted a replacement meal. Since I'm never eating there again, I declined. read more

I hate to be so generous when reviewing a McDonald's, but this one definitely deserves more than 2-stars. Can't really review the food as, to me, McDonald's food tastes the same at all McDonald's. So food-wise, this one isn't any different than the McDonald's on Mack Road. What I'm giving this place 4-stars for is the location and the look. Starting off with the location, it's nice to finally have a McDonald's nearby that isn't inside a gas station or one that's 15minutes away. It's right off the freeway and isn't in a busy intersection or a busy shopping plaza. Really a prime spot to get good business without getting overcrowded. As far as the look goes, it's really got this super modern look to it. Doesn't really feel like a McDonald's at all. Trendy furniture. Trendy wallpaper. Trendy layout. Not to mention there's TVs on the walls that actually show TV shows instead of the McDonald's menu (although they do have TVs as their menu board). Overall, really glad for a closer McDonald's for those random big mac and nuggets cravings and especially for a McDonald's that actually feels nice to go into. read more

I was amazed at how well this new location has been performing. The staff (specifically a young lady with red hair who took our order) was extremely kind. Rarely do I give reviews to drive-thrus but the staff at this location definitely out-shined other McDonald's (and fast foods) that I have gone to over the past 20 years of my life! Food-wise, I am always a tester of new flavors that restaurants try to push, so I decided to try the habanero ranch quarter pounder. Although it isn't as spicy as the name would implies, it was tasty nonetheless. The deal menu is always a plus and speed of service was blazing fast! More importantly, McDonald's have come along way in making their menu more friendly to the calorie conscience! Just wanted to give kudos to where it is deserved! read more

Restrooms were clean, but as it was only 9:30am and the kid wanted a meal that came with a toy, no dice. (Her attempt at ordering was met with the second cruelest word in the English language: "Sorry," but at least didn't accompany the most cruel: "no.") If I could give them -10 stars I would. I drove and picked up $20 worth of food, and came home to find that half my order was missing. Already very annoyed that I had to drive back to this McDonalds, I walked back inside, waiting for the rest of my food. The manager had the audacity to ask for the half order that was given to us,and threw it away in the trash. I asked how come he threw everything away and he just shot back a glare and snarly replied back with "you're going to wait for a new batch of fresh food," without any sign of apology for the missing food. This whole altercation ended up taking an hour (accounting for waiting for the food the first time, driving back and finding that we didn't get every item we paid for, drove back here, talked to the manager, and waited all over again for our whole order when we just needed the other half). I just wanted to say thank you for great customer service today! My sons and I came in for breakfast and he barely touched his food. I cleaned up our mess and neatly packed our food. We went to use the bathroom but when we came out someone had thrown it away. The lady who was cleaning the lobby said someone else may have thrown it out. She confirmed with her manager and gave me another of the big breakfast I ordered as a courtesy. Thank you team! read more

Great location! Conveniently located off of I-5. This place is relatively new, and I can tell they need better training. The customer service is great, and the food items are also always good. BUT, they almost always seem to forget something. Today, they forgot my daughters juice box for her kids meal. Weeks ago they forgot her go-gurt. And everything before that I can't remember. So needless to say, when you pick up your order from the drive thru, double check your bag. read more

This is the worst McDonalds we have ever visited! The drive through got the order wrong and then we had to remind them of the price difference. Then he told us not to worry about it that "I got it". We asked to speak to the manager who condescendingly said he probably meant he had it right now. Either way, the customer service is terrible and the place is so poorly lit! Food is fine, comparable to most other Mcdonald's. The reason for the 2 star rating is, I don't think I've ever been to a fast food joint that has messed up my order as many times as this one. I don't come to this location often because of this but this is the only McDonald's on my side of town. It seems every other time I have gone here something has been wrong with my order, such as a Cheeseburger when I asked for a hamburger, wrong drinks, or missing food such as my last visit. My most recent visit on 9/15/2016 put the nail in the coffin. My order was very simple, Hamburger, Small Fry, Small Sprite. There was no small fry in my order and I didn't notice until I was almost home. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle to drive all the way back and wait in line as I usually do. Yes the receipt confirmed I did pay for the fry. This has happened too many times for me to bother going back, luckily there are 3 other fast food restaurants nearby. Would rate 1 star but the staff is friendly. I will not be going back however. read more

Worst service ever. This is one McDonalds I will never be stopping at again. Went through the drive thru and paid with credit card. The cashier apparently swiped our card twice before telling us that the card declined. Provided a second card while proceeding to call the credit card company to find out why the card was declined. The card never declined and in fact was charged and approved twice for the same meal that was then charged a third time to the secondary card provided. Manager refused to talk to the credit card agent on the line and we are still sitting here waiting for our food and refund 30 minutes later. Watch your credit card statements if you eat here and pay by credit. I'm not about to pay $25 for 2 breakfast sandwiches which we still haven't received. read more

I've come here a few times before and waited in a 30+ minute line thinking it was just a fluke. Each time mind you I have come off peak lunch hours and still have had to endure the crazy wait. Today 230pm I have been waiting for 16 minutes and my wife decides to pass us coming home from work and drive to the next closest Mcdonalds and order. Not only did she make it to the other Mcdonalds, but she ordered and made it home before we even got our food which was another 18 minutes later. If you have the chance just keep driving by this one. They are by anything but fast food. read more

I only come to this location because I can walk to it. This is my last time. Waited 10 minutes to have someone take my order and I was the first person in line. A man whose order had already been taken said he had been waiting 30 minutes. The floor, and drink counter were dirty and after 20 minutes, I still didn't have my order. Dreadful. . I've had consistent unpleasant experiences at this location, however, an incident today was far too much. I came in earlier today for breakfast with a friend, I knew what my order would be and couldn't have imagined it to be such a hassle for the cashier. The cashier was Alexander (Alex) who asked what I want to order in a stern voice, I simply replied in my most courteous and general manner, "An order of the hotcakes without sausage and one sausage mcmuffin, I would also like to request a fresh order please." He looked at me dead center and chuckled a bit, then proceeded by saying, "Well, it is fresh. What? Do you think it just comes out of a box?" *chuckling continues* I didn't say anything and just brushed it off, I couldn't even believe how disrespect this individual was. Honestly, customer service aside for a second, have you any decency? I was far more courteous than I usually am just because of the frequent discrepancies at this location. I then check my receipt and immediately notice that he put in an order for a Hotcakes w/ sausage order, c'mon. . You want to disrespect me and then mess up my order? I made it very clear and there really shouldn't have been any confusion, it wasn't at all busy in front either. I had to tell another girl working who then gave me a refund back on my debit card, which is quite a hassle because now I've got to wait to retrieve the money the cashier made me lose out on. In short, I simply don't feel welcomed by this location in the slightest anymore. I'm just shocked really, to top it all off the cashier didn't even manage to press the "ask me" button which displays whether or not the cashier requested it as fresh or not. My advice: At the very least, you should give and receive mutual respect, especially as an employee. read more

Ok, I have to remember this is a fast food place. When I first walk in there is a line & I observe there are at least 3 customers waiting but no one to take orders. There were at least 4 employees who were packing orders & 1 of them was standing around gabbing with one of them. I was able to make eye contact with the one & I asked politely, is anyone taking orders. She looks at me & nods her heads & walks off to the back. I was a but confused at that point & didn't know what just happened. Was she going to hide so no one else would complain or was she truly going to the back to find someone. After standing around fora other 5 minutes finally someone came out. At this point there were now 3 additional customers behind me & 3 in front of me. One customer came & left after noticing no one was being helped. I was in kind of a rush wanting to come in & get my & get out. I wanted to order a Cheeseburger Happy Meal. No idea what was taking so long. There appeared to be plenty of employees but no one taking orders. There were even 2 of them sitting down at a table eating. So beware when you go to this location that you will have to wait. No quick service at all. Oh yes, I should add check your orders. Previous occasions (which I has not yelped) orders were messed up. Even missing a patty from my Big Mac. Will try to avoid this location if possible or just try going at an off time. Maybe that will help. read more

The slowest McDonald's ever! I was second in line to order, so I thought it wouldn't be long to get my food. Wrong! The girl didn't know how to give change correctly, she had to call someone over because she didn't want to listen to me telling her what she owed me. Then my milkshake sat there, and sat there and sat there. When I asked for it, the guy said I had to wait for my whole order. Needless to say the shake wasn't thick any longer. I had to ask for a new one. They had about 6 crew behind the counter and 3 on break. But that didn't stop them from chatting to each other across the counter. 20 minutes to get my food. smh read more

Let me say, I understand its a McDonald's, but I went there to order a Mocha and they forgot the expresso and the chocolate. I arrived at work when I tasted the coffee, so immediately called the McDonalds at my earliest convenience. When I called I let them know, and manager advised the the did not believe me and wanted me to bring the coffee in. I advised he I threw it out, and condescending tone at the time just turned me off. It's Christmas morning and the staff are here on a holiday to serve hungry patrons. I read many reviews here and have not had a similar negative experience. On the contrary, I see a very clean and well kept restaurant. The manager looked like he was taking extra care in cleaning even the trash can lid. Surprising that the Manager would take the effort to do the tiny details that ultimately make the restaurant a welcoming place. The appearance is much better than many McDonald's I have been to. The employee behind the counter, Jacob, was very competent. Single handedly taking care of the entire front counter with efficiency and very courteous. Impressive job being the boss of the front counter. A big thank you to this crew for working on Christmas and still being friendly, courteous, and efficient. read more

Stopped here for lunch with twenty-five kids on our way to Summer Camp. Our kids are pretty awesome and well-behaved but still, it's a ton of kids smearing ketchup all over their food and paying with more coins than cash lol. The manager ended up handling our orders and spoke to each kid like the paying customer they were. She was kind and even brought out extra water cups for the kids that needed them. The entire team was very kind to the kids and the orders came out super fast! It was an excellent experience and we are thankful for the awesome staff that made kids camp that much more fun :) read more
