Even though I very much prefer the food and service from small businesses, I like to eat fast food occasionally. When I walked in, there was a nice Christmas tree on the inside and a good amount of seating. As I looked through the menu, I noticed Alaskan McDonald's exclusive items such as the Denali Mac and the Double Filet-O-Fish. But, I was drawn to the Happy Meal that comes with two Disney toys. After picking up my order, I appreciate how my hamburger and fries were hot and fresh. Meanwhile, my parents enjoyed the Double Filet-O-Fish and wished that it was an option in California. Also, the toys that I received were Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Boba Fett from Star Wars which made my day. If I visit Fairbanks again, I would return to this McDonald's. read more

I have stopped here twice. Neither time was my order correct. Tonight was the last straw. Paid extra to have lettuce added and pickles removed. Shocker, no lettuce and pickles still on. Lobby closed at 8 o'clock and a 20 minute drive thru line so there was no way to get the order corrected. $15 an hour and can't do the simplest tasks. You don't deserve $2 an hour. The worst service of any McDonald's I have ever been to. It's absolutely horrible, I can't even explain in words how chaotic the drive through was. Keep in mind, it was hardly busy and 6:45am. Had to switch lanes, as did other cars, then that lane wouldn't get talked to for 2-3 cars. As if this place wasn't one of the worst McDonald's I have ever gone to before. I stop for a quick bite last night and my quick bite is more like a slow bite and then my meal comes with cold fries and a cold burger.... Then on top of it. I want a burrito in the morning so I stop since it is next to my hotel and then get the Fairbanks McDonalds kiss... we don't have burritos right now. This place it amazingly slow, I just work at in a fast food chain back in NYC and this is ridiculous 45 minutes for an order for a take out order. Nice convenient fast food place located next to our hotel. This is one of the three McDonald's in this city. As our driver mentioned this location is pretty slow in their service and preparing meals. I am giving this place three stars because there are plenty of parking, there is a drive-through area, and plenty of indoor seating. Coffee is always piping hot and staff is friendly. I even ordered through the McDonald's app and picked up my food 15 minutes later. Just overall service is very slow. Be very patient when you have to wait to get your happy meals and hot McCafé drinks . read more

I read all the reviews about 20-30 minutes in the drive thru and thought they were just an exaggeration... Nope. Ordered a #1 extra pickles and a #3 no pickles, pretty simple. After waiting for 14 minutes, and only 3 cars, we got to the window and the first kid hands us a receipt that is missing the whole overly complex pickle situation, oh well. We get to the second window and the next kid says, you ordered a strawberry shake? Nope. He asks what we ordered, then asks for our receipt. Once again we mention the extra pickle/ no pickle thing. He takes our receipt, and about 8 minutes later he comes back saying sorry, I had to make these myself. Now, I thought it was strange that he had to make them since it sounded like there were at least four other people in there having a high as hell laughing attack... oh well. While driving away my wife took the pickles off of my burger and put them on hers. So I guess in the big picture we got what we ordered. read more

Half the place is empty but all the tables are filthy and filling up with families without being serviced. 2nd time I've been here and it's been very slow service every time. Either new management needs to be established or new system put into place for them to keep up with the demand. Edited: waited 20 min for food, ordered from self-serve kiosk. Arrived at McDonald's around 530 pm it was packed so I didn't expect to get my order out quickly about 10 minutes later my food comes out wrong tell the lady she gives me a look like I asked her to give me the world remakes my food my double quarter pounder is missing a patty and the patty that is on there looked like it was past the time it should've been out I tell her I'm missing a patty she storms off again other customers are getting mad at her on my behalf at this point she brings me back my food with another patty but missing the extra cheese third times the charm to still screw things up read more

Just watched one of the employees come into the kids area to scold everyone, including parents, about one pair of shoes that were setting too close to the jungle gym. She could have spoken nicely, but was a real (loud) bitch about it. Then I saw another customer get scolded for bringing a Poweraide in when she obviously had no clue it was even against the rules, and she was not treated in a nice way either. I was humiliated for her. Definitely will not be coming back if we can't be shown common human decency. Just be nice to people!! They'll be way more happy follow your rules if you can at least speak kindly to them! read more

Worst McDonald's. We ordered a kid's chicken nugget happy meal, there were no nuggets in the box. One of the employees filled it with tartar sauce. Who does that!? We didn't even feel comfortable eating any of the other food we ordered because it could have been messed with as well. We had to call twice for them to take us seriously. The first time the manager said "We don't do that here". The most he offered was to replace the missing nuggets and to review camera footage after I kept insisting someone should be held accountable so this doesn't happen to anyone else. I have an only child and he loves the McDonald's playplace BUT it's filthy!! I was in denial but now I know he gets very sick after playing there. First time we went he fought a fever for 3 days and was vomiting the entire time. I'm heartbroken. Every time after that his stomach would fight it off by vomiting all day. Corporate needs to acknowledge this and hire a cleaning company to go in and clean the place at LEAST once a month. I was in McDonalds today and got the 2 cheeseburger combo. The store was very nice-love the remodel. The guy who waited on me was very friendly. My food came very fast. I ate the cheeseburgers-drank some coke and ate a few fries. I looked down at the french fries and a BLACK hair was in the middle of the box. I got sick. Went to the counter and told the lady-I left. Came home got sick and decided I needed to call the manager. We spoke and he was very nice. He would of talked to me but I left. Just a reminder look at your food before putting it in your mouth. I have been to the McDonald's on Bentley Avenue many times. And I am sick and tired of the way that they upsell without asking. If you go there in the morning, and you order a meal breakfast meal, the cashier has been instructed to automatically upsell to the medium. They do this without even asking. This has happened to me every time that I have been to this McDonald's and the one on Airport Way. Today I spoke with the "teenage manager" and he told me that it was a little slip of the finger to make it medium and not small. Obviously he lied about that because this has happened not only to me but also my husband. This is not a lot of money that we're talking about from an individual and most people probably just overlook it and pay. But this is fraud, and they are teaching their employees to lie and to cheat their customers. If each McDonald's franchise serves 300 meals a day, the owners of the three McDonald's franchises are defrauding their customers of $171 every single day. Multiply this by 365 days. We are not talking about chump change. I will not be going to any of the Fairbanks McDonald's any longer, and I urge everyone to seriously inspect your receipt for these overcharges. Just went through the drive thru and I got two large denali mac meals. Well I had asked for fresh fries but I got cold soggy fried that tasted like they were a couple hours old.
