The drive thru employee was difficult to understand and when we went to pay they asked us what our order was, which we never have happen in other dual drive thru McD's. Not only was the chicken over cooked, it was sent out with the bun, a piece of chicken and two pickles. Not even a condiment was added. Im never coming again, when at 1 point I was a daily customer. I've been visiting this location on and off since 2013, and to be honest, the service over the years has usually been pretty subpar. But something has clearly changed and for the better! On 12SEP25, I placed an order for two Gold Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches and one Spicy Deluxe. Instead, all three came with the spicy sauce. Since two people in my household can't handle spicy food, that first bite was a big disappointment. I called the number on the receipt, expecting to be connected with the store, but it actually routed me to an off-site rep who texted the issue directly to the shift manager. By the time I arrived at the restaurant, I was bracing myself for the kind of poor customer service I had experienced here before. To my surprise, I was greeted by one of the most professional managers I've ever met at this location. He immediately apologized, remade the sandwiches fresh and then went above and beyond by comping us with two full meals (fries, drinks, and even pumpkin pie!). To the store manager, Bravo. You've completely raised the bar and shown exactly what customer service should look like. Keep leading your team this way it makes all the difference! Want to note that this store has been completely renovated. Inside is so nice and clean. In the past it was a hang out for homeless. Now the drink machine has been removed, bathrooms require a code and the kitchen is separated from the dining room! Just alA Horrible McDonald's... Live a few miles away for past 40 years so been here many many times. Fries are always old and cold. Have to always ask for fresh fries and fresh burgers every time. The employees are rude and really do t care about their job or the customer. And WTH.... The biggest complaint about this place. Has happened so Many times. Drive there an hour or half hour before closing. All the lights on inside and at drive thru and they ignore you. Well First I go to a lot of McDonald's and this one has to be one that I would say is under the standards of the others . Well first being in Pacific Beach and I would think there standards would be better but guess not . I pull up and go through the drive through and I order the Double Cheeseburger and of course I use there app because you can get a large fries for 1.49 and let me tell you there prices here are a bit higher then the other McDonald's because when I order the same At the others it would be cheaper . Well I went on and paid anyways . So as I got my order I ask the lady working can I get two cups of water and she got them for me and guess what !! The water tasted pretty bad !! It tasted like run down Coke cola it had a very bad taste to it . It sure seems like they don't wash down there soda machine and she only gave us 1 straw also . This is by far the worst Mc donalds I have ever been to. The guy working here who says his name is Carlos was the rudest staff member I have ever met. It's 8 15 pm and their doors were locked to go in. I get to the door and hes telling me go around. Already annoyed with his attitude. I go to the window and he's like. You need to go back to the drive through. I said already placed the order. He's like we don't have an order for you. I told him I placed it via the app. Goes, I need the code? By far the rudest McDonald's I've been too, went here for my kids, they wanted kids meals. Paid, the lady handed them to me and was laughing for some reason, then said bye rudely. Didn't think much of it then realized my son said he didn't even get a toy in his kids meal, had to drive back and sit in traffic, got there and they knew exactly that 1 out of 3 kids meals didn't have a toy, I didn't even say anything. Ordered free Padre fries with a 10 dollar order. Manager refused to give them! Very poor service

I decided to pick up lunch today at this McDonald location. Access to this particular McDonalds can be somewhat of a challenge, exiting is even more a challenge since you can only turn right out of the property. I utilized the drive which is fast and efficient but avoid the peak lunch times, 11:30-1:00. The dual order drive through menu traffic can turn into a cluster #%*+. I ordered the glazed barbecue chicken tenders. To my surprise the chicken pieces were big and the me was juicy! The barbecue sauce was tangy and had a little heat to it. I ordered it as a combo with medium fries and coke for $10.27. The person at the window was very polite. Of course my rating only includes the drive thru so I am rating this particular McD's a four star because of it street access issues and management of the drive thru during peak hours. read more
