Not really rating the food. We all know about the food, either you're ok with it, or you're not. I saw a posting about the shamrock shake, and I knew I had to try it. So here I was at about 10pm, the drive through was open. There was something wrong with the machine and it took then a few minutes to sort it out. Anyhow, even the person with the headset on, working the drive through who was obviously not a manager... Decided to give me the shake for free. That is ownership of the situation. That is customer service. And that is empowering your employees! Props to the lady that helped me out this evening, and props to her manager for promoting good customer service. If I could give it no stars I would. Was here this morning and before 9am it was super busy. There was an African American older gentleman waiting to do an order and after waiting for a while the skinny guy with neck tattoos told him they were too busy and to use the kiosk but the older guy didn't seem to know how to use it. Skinny employee told the guy he couldn't help him and the older African American gentleman guy walked away and left. Then to the surprise of us. This is the very first McDonald's I come to and they charge me $.25 for ranch?? The woman over the speaker sounded like she was annoyed because I didn't tell right away my order, all I was waiting for was "Im ready to take your order" bu no, she sounded like she had an attitude. I was no annoyed that I went straight to the window and so this "friendly" lady asking for my order which I asked if she was the same person order the microphone and she did not answered and kept evading my question. This is the MacDonalds on COLEMAN AVE. next to COSTCO. Bad customer service. When I made my order, I forgot to tell them to hold the onions on my burger. An employee decided to give me a lecture that I should let them know at the time I ordered. I asked, is this a problem? She says, YES! I told her that I just forgot. It was only 30 seconds after my transaction. But I still was lectured. I told her not to be rude to the customer like that and make me look like an idiot. This employee needs more training on how to smile at the customer and be courteous at all times. To add my CONS they seem to always be out of ICE and out of the self serve KETCHUP. They don't have selfvservev napkin dispenser and you always have to asked for napkins, because, they always seem to forget to give you any. First issue is the touch order system did not give me my receipt. Then when an order that looked like mine came up, I asked and they verified it was mine. I get home and only 1/3 of my order was correct. I am now stuck with food I do not like and I paid more for what I ordered than what I got. I am trying to call the store and no one answers, fax machine every time. Corporate Customer service line is only Monday through Friday, great. This McDonald's has fine food comparing it to other McDonald's- so no complaints there. Also it is an extreme pain to get to because of the Costco traffic, but nothing they can do to change that. My main issue is the pricing at this location- not only are they way more expensive than most McDonald's, but they are higher than their app says the prices are! I usually order a Double Hamburger (no cheese)- which was priced on their app at $1.59. McDoubles were priced at $1.79, and Double Cheeseburgers were priced at $2.29. I ordered 2 double hamburgers and they went to charge me as two double cheeseburgers with no cheese- way more expensive for something I don't want. He told me they don't offer double hamburgers (???) so I asked to be rung up for 2 McDoubles instead, which they did do. However, a McDouble at this location is $2.19, not $1.79 like the app says. I should not have to pay extra for something I don't want, especially when I can drive down the street to In-N-Out and get a fresh burger for just a little bit more. read more

The worst McDonald's in the entire South Bay. They gave me old fries that were left under the light for too long and became extremely difficult to chew and was even hurting my teeth. I brought the fries back to them and asked them for a different one and they told me to throw them away myself. I said no I'm handicap and this is their responsibility and they should throw it away. The tall and big guy behind the counter mocked me being disabled and said "fine I'll throw it away. It's not hard to do." And then when he came back he and the manager just laughed at me. My lunch buddy made an astute observation, why the 2 spaces reserved for drive thru are the most dangerous ones. The staff person has to cross the road and we know some drivers are digging in their bags for fries. The parked cars have to reverse after they finally get their order which will clog traffic exiting the drive thru. Alas most folks get their order complete. Gotta love them fries! read more

IF you are going to this location, you must really want to visit a McDonald's. The sole driveway entrance is often blocked from traffic entering/exiting Costco. It's not a problem in the early morning when Costco is not open, but, it can be a pain during busy hours. Due to this driveway arrangement, this McDonald's is seldom busy. I have not had any problems with the food. We usually order chicken nuggets, and they do a good job. That's a plus. It's a dysfunctional McDonald's. There seems to be one item or another that needs maintenance, and the employees are aware of it, but don't/can't care. Whether it's another booth with seat cushions that have been broken for six months, or the beverage station(s) with the soda that tastes wrong and hasn't produced ice for the last six months, I'm under the impression that the franchise owner does not have the inclination to resolve problems by investing any funds into improving the condition of their store. It just seems like there's no real need to care. No signage is on the machines to indicate that they're not working properly. Again, the staff is aware of the problems. They've probably been told numerous times from customers about these items. If you tell them something doesn't work, rude lip service seems to be the figurative duct tape for dealing with customers that remind them about an item on that maintenance punch list that has been out of order for months. I'm starting to wonder if they'll close the place in the next year. This is often a indicator that they're getting out of the lease, i.e letting things slide. All of these items do add up to a customer's experience with this location, and whether they will return. read more

Today I witnessed a customer come back into the store because his fries were cold. Ok, I come to McDonalds every 1/2 a year .... just for craving.... This time I stopped by one that been here forever..... Well, it feels like it has not been remodeled since opening. Service.... new cashier nice but new.. no issue there. Had to ask "manager for some help" We'll manager was .... not professional at all, short dirty, unbuttoned and untucked, pans dragging on the floor and ripped.
