Apparently the city of Sedona made it hard for McDonald's to get property here and forced them to change the color of the arches to Blue so that it did not clash with the red landscape. So, when you're in Sedona, you have access to the world's only McDonald's with turquoise arches. You have to go, right? So, I did. The food was pretty much what you would expect at any other McDonald's, but the service was a pretty different experience. The restrooms were pretty unkempt and seemed to he ignored, despite the current COVID-19 crisis (my visit was before dining rooms were closed), the store was poorly stocked for regular items like lids and straws, and the employees generally seemed miserable. So, I'm not sure if it is because the employees are just kind of run down amidst everything that is going on or if the management isn't great. But, even if you don't go inside, seeing turquoise arches is still pretty cool. read more

What's unique about this particular McD's in Sedona, Arizona is that it's the only one in the world that has teal green arches in their logo. Went in for a quick lunch and ordered the 2 Big Macs for $5 promotion I'd seen on TV. There ate NO signs anywhere telling you about it even though the deal is for the chicken sandwich, the fish fillet, etc. I guess they don't want you to know about it so you'll pay full price. When my order came, there was ONE Big Mac and a cheeseburger from the dollar menu on the tray. I asked the counter person why and she stated that's what I'd ordered! We were eating when I saw the manager and mentioned it. He brought us another big Mac and apologized, was very nice. But when I asked him why there was no signage about the 2 for $5 promotion, he said "they didn't send us any signs". I was traveling with my family through Sedona this past weekend and we stopped at this McDonald's. Terrible. It was around 7pm when we went through the drive-thru and the woman at the drive-thru window was rude and very short when speaking to us. Not to mention she was talking on her drive thru headset the entire time and it was pretty clear it was not work related as we could hear all of the gossip she was saying. But the icing on the cake was I (the driver in the car) watched her pick a wedgie out of her butt with her hand about 2 seconds before grabbing our food bag with the same hand and passing it through the window. Just disgusting. I'm just glad she wasn't making our food but if someone like that works there, it makes me wonder about the people that do make the food. read more

Always friendly and busy but if you ever order something with a slight modification, it's always wrong. "No pickles add bacon" comes up on the screen, I'm charged for it and ever time there are pickles and no bacon. I give these guys four stars because they could suffer changing their brand to be in Sedona (blue arches). This is the magical power of Sedona . . . it changes everyone! It is a normal MacMenu but the people that work the counters have heart. I compare it to Chicago McDonald's and it is almost a different chain. Sedona - is gorgeous. My girl asked what I wanted to do when we went and I joked we should go see the turquoise arches. We went for breakfast. First, the cashier in the middle of taking our order, walked away. When she came back, she asked "what do you want?" So we order and watch two huge families order after us. I'm talking 12-15 people. Both families were served before us. After 15 minutes, I ask a different cashier for an update. The manager tells her they are waiting on muffins. The cashier says, it's been 15 minutes. The manager shrugs, and walks away. Another five minutes she sets the tray down and I said you know if you apologized, I wouldn't be so irritated. I've worked good service, I get it. She rolls her eyes and says you want your money back? So the only good thing that I can say about this McDonald's is we got free breakfast and we say the turquoise arches. read more

I'm not a big fan of McDonald's but they do have a place in the retail food business. We use them when traveling to new areas for a quick snack or breakfast. We were in Sedona for a week of golf with a group and McDonald's was just across the street from our hotel. I went to them 3 times and each time, it was real disaster,. The grist time was when my wife wanted an ice cream cone. We walked in and there was only one person in line. We waited and waited and waited. It took them over 5 minutes to take care of the singe customer. Then it became our turn to order. We ordered on ice cream cone and one Crispy Chicken Salad. This should have been a very quick order to fill since the salads are made up in advance and the ice cream comes out of a machine! Nope, we ended up waiting for palmist 10 minutes!!!! We felt like walking out but they had our money! It ended up taking 15 minutes for something that should have b been 2 or 3 minutes! The next time was to order a Deluxe Quarter Pounder late at night. Again, I had to wait but worse, yet, was that the sandwich was overloaded with mayo! There was excess mayo oozing out of the sides! I had to scrape off a bunch of mayo to make it edible. And on the last visit, I simply walked out without ordering because I became annoyed at how long it was taking for the counter to take care of the line of customers.
