The worst costumer service more like worst manager I have ever encountered her name was ruby! do not go here. they had new " boozy drink milkshakes that we were excited to try! it was called dreamcycle with only vodka and one other liquor and the rest was ice cream and sweet flavoring. she then came out and was very disrespectful saying that we can't just decide to taste it then take it back, the waiter was going to just switch the drinks but then the manager ruby came out saying lots of rude not polite thing to myself and my husband! this isn't the first time she has done this! I would recommend people not to come here but the food is decent just watch out for what drink you get bc she will charge you more than what it is, she made the drinks and I told her how much alcohol did she put bc it was a fire taste in my throat instead of a sweet boozy aftertaste! Had food from here a couple of weeks ago and it was my first time and it was really good. They had a huge menu and everything looked good. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing. The sauce was perfect not to spicy or sweet. Will definitely order again read more

The Buffalo Chicken bowl is awesome! Definitely recommend getting curly fries! My wife raves about the Cuban sandwich.

Where do I start. Okay so 1) the menu they have up on Uber Eats is trash. I ordered 4 meals and had choices for things but it didn't state those replace potatoes. 2). The poor excuse they have for a chicken sandwich. I'm actually changing this from 3 to 2 stars now. It's not a breaded chicken breast. It's a chicken form patty in a circle. You know, like an adult sized cheap bad chicken nugget? I thought if KFC and Popeyes have an actual chicken piece, why wouldn't this place have one at the prices they charge. Trash. Don't order it. 3) The lettuce and tomato were NOT fresh. The pickles were chewy. Chewy and no taste. The fried pickles, don't get me started. You cannot take chewy jarred old pickles and fry them and have an edible product! So disenchanted with that. The only reason J gave 2 Stars and that is being generous is because the pot roast bowl saved it. Using bagged frozen broccoli and carrots and cauliflower just made me sad. Went here for the first time since its right down the street and we needed something easy to pick up for diner but wanted to try something new. Loved it and will definitely be going back. I got the Gyros M&P bowl which is basically a Gyro Poutine. A bed of natural cut fries covered in Gyros meat, Feta cheese, onions, tomatoes, and very tasty Tzatziki sauce which I thoroughly enjoyed. The two times I've eaten their food, the food was fantastic. No complaints there and actually I'd give the food 5 stars. They deliver too! The problem is that they only do delivery when they want to. Every time I placed an order for delivery, I was put on hold for a long time. They had to check and see if I was within the delivery boundry. I get it. And the first two times they finally told me that I'm within the boundry. "Great!" I said to myself. Figuring I'd order here more often. The next time I ordered, they told me that they were to busy to deliver to me at the moment. And after waiting on hold for quite awhile. It was a Friday night so maybe they were. But being too busy is not a good excuse when it comes to running a place that says delivery. It's the first word on their website!!! Second time we tried, again a long hold, we were told we aren't in the boundry. And the kid was pretty rude about it. Haven't called them back since just based off that. There aren't many "unique" restaurants around this area, so when I spotted Meat & Potato Eatery I had to stop in. I decided to really dive into the experience and order the m&p bowl (cheddar, bacon, burger patty & fried pickles over a bed of fries - I subbed the bbq sauce for a garlic sauce). The meal was overall delicious but I wish I would've gotten the sauce on the side instead of directly on the rest of the meal (just my personal preference). Also - the staff was wonderful. They were also so friendly and genuinely seemed like they were enjoying themselves which made my experience even better! I was unaware this place was here for 4 years of living right down the street and I'm so glad my sister introduced me to this restaurant!! The food is so good and unique. No matter what your craving this restaurant will sure have it for you at a very good price! The staff is so pleasant and on top of everything, especially getting the warm food out to the customers as soon as possible. The restaurant is always clean and tidy which is very important to me when walking into an establishment. Plus the portions of food are large and always cooked to perfection! Omg! Just got this delivered for lunch and wish I took a picture before I devoured the food. It was so good! My boyfriend got the gyro dinner which he said was good. I can't vouch for that. But he also ordered some chicken tenders which I took one and it was delicious, still hot when it got here, and huge. Definitely recommend! I ordered the chicken kabob dinner. It comes with rice and a side salad. I started with the salad and couldn't eat it fast enough! It's like a Greek salad with feta, kalamata olives, red onions, green peppers, banana peppers, tomatoes, and a Greek dressing. It made me want more! So fresh and delicious!! Then I tried the chicken kabob dinner, 2 grilled chicken skewers, rice, and pita with a side of taziki sauce. It was all amazing!! The rice was full of flavor not just plain rice. I had the Italian bowl (Italian beef, cheese, marinara sauce, sweet & hot peppers over fries) & my hubby had the m&p bowl (cheddar burger with bacon, BBQ sauce & fried pickles over fries) & we also got an order of fried pickles. YIMy step son and I decided to try this place because of a groupon deal that was going on and we were in the Mchenry area running errands, we're huge foodies so trying a new place sounded like a good idea, at the time.... The food tasted fine but I got food poisoning from eating their Southwest chicken Salad , and being 27 weeks pregnant that was probably one of the worst feelings I've ever had to experience.. I called and told them the food got me Sick and they offered me a free meal next time, but I honestly don't think I'll be able to eat there again which is a shame, maybe after I have the baby I can give them another shot, definitely not a salad though.. We lived in McHenry several years before finally trying this place because the name just was not appealing to me, especially since I loathe potatoes! But I'm so glad we finally tried it... The chicken kabob dinner is phenomenal, their salads are actually fresh, with nice looking vegetables and greens - not just crappy wilty pieces of iceberg! The place is always very clean and everything we've tried so far has been served hot, fresh and delicious. Service staff is friendly. They even have a little gaming area if you have a few bucks left-over and are trying to resist the yummy desserts ;) read more

Location - There aren't many places in the McHenry area that deliver. This is now on our list. Hopefully someday soon we'll stop in for a meal and will update the review. Food - I had the 'meatloaf' sandwich which was very well one. I initially was concerned that I wouldn't be able to pick the sandwich up and eat it 'like a sandwich'. This is not the case as it's served on a pretzel bun and stayed 'whole' the entire time. The onion fries on top added a 'nice crunch' too. My wife had the loaded potato bowl which looked great and her review was possessive as well. Service - Great job and very friendly... As I said, we opted for 'take-out' on a Friday night. When we placed our order, delivery time was quoted at an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Surprisingly, our food was delivered in 35 minutes. Let me start by saying I have never felt the need to do a review on Yelp. Tonight my wife ordered our family food at Meat and Potato Eatery at 6:20. At . 7:45 we still hadn't received our food. My wife called to check on the order and they said it was on the way. Another 45 minutes passed and still nothing. At this point I called and they said they didn't have our order. At this point I was very pissed off. I said I wanted to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager so I asked what she was going to do to rectify the situation and she said she had to call her manage r and I laughed and said I thought you were the manager. Then she said she was the assistant manager and she had to check with her boss. So I hung up. Being pissed off still, I called back and talked to her and she said her manager said they would send the food out for free. Well that was 2 1/2 hours after we ordered so I told her where she could put that food. Complete incompetence! read more

My first visit to Meat and Potatoes, Mchenry. Went with my family tonight for dinner. Nice atmosphere clean with a very large menu. Prices are high. We had 3 gyro dinners and one meatloaf dinner and 4 small drinks. Gyros were over cooked and meat was crunchy. Salad was fresh and looked surprisingly good but I did not care for the dressing, no dressing options was given. Did not like the fact that they added sauce on gyro, way too much and too messy. Meatloaf was good taste and portion size was good as well. We all chose waffle fries, very good but gyro dinner's served in box so not alot of fries. My biggest complaint is the prices 60 bucks for gyros which are much less at any hot dog stand but usually taste much better. My low rating is for the gyro dinner's poor quality. read more

I paid $17 for a strawberry milkshake and a bowl of fiesta fries. Everything seemed generic and frozen. Guacamole had a funny taste as it wasn't made fresh. It was like an overpriced fast food joint.
