We ordered catering from here while visiting for a rowing competition. We had to feed a group of 30+ high school kids and wanted to keep it healthy and this was amazing! The owner went above and beyond to help us out. The food was outstanding - honestly, and we tend to seek out a lot of Greek/Mediterranean food when traveling. We are spending a night in Sacramento for a run tomorrow morning. As always, went to Yelp to find dinner. My fiancé picked a winner when he found this restaurant. The many 5 star reviews are spot on. Robbie, the owner, was friendly and welcoming, and a fellow F1 fan. He kindly changed the tv channel so I could watch the race. The food was amazing. The portions are HUGE. I had a hard time putting my fork down. Pomegranate chicken shawarma was so tender and seasoned perfectly. Fiancé had the chicken shawarma with garlic. Again, delicious and tender. Both dishes came with rice, salad and hummus. The flatbread with tzatziki was so fresh and yummy. The tzatziki portion was also huge but we took all the leftovers and will not let it go to waste! I wish we lived closer so we could be regulars but this place is so good I would drive the hour and 15 minutes just to eat here again. It is obvious that Chef Robbie takes pride in his cooking and presentation, as well as creating a warm inviting atmosphere. We will DEFINITELY be back. read more

What a great addition to our neighborhood! For fellow east-sac'ers, this is where The Wienery used to be. The owner couldn't have been nicer. The menu is extensive and they have a larger wine selection than most of the expensive restaurants in town. My wife had the Basturma shawarma and I had the falafel. Both were excellent. Since this was lunch we ordered a'la carte. But if you come for dinner the "plates" section looks appropriate. We'll be coming back soon! read more

Food was Excellent.. Mediterranean Bistro is located in a strip mall. It had the aesthetic feel of a neighborhood diner. The welcome by The Owner/host was so warm and genuine I was glad we came even before we ate . We shared several dishes. The hummus was straight up the best I've ever had. I also ordered babaghanoush that was fresh and delicious. We had a chicken pita wrap and the chicken was so flavorful. There was also a smoked eggplant pita wrap All were exceptional.. The biggest surprise was the kafta (a seasoned ground beef) . It was delicious and better than any of us had had. Finally, he really must try the baklava flavored ice cream. It's not a place to go if you want to get dressed up fancy but if you want really good Mediterranean food, this is the place. We're definitely going back. It was in East Sacramento. We just ate here for the first time today (take out). The owner was super outgoing and friendly. We had the lamb and chicken gyros, as well as a greek salad. The food was ready at the stated time, and packaged well. These were hands down the best gyros I have had in Sac, and I have had them all. The prices were reasonable for the high quality of food, and I will definitely be going back. The dog of a location has been the death of a lot of food businesses, and I would like to see lots of people try it out, so that it can be around for as long as the owner wants it to be. read more

Delicious and fresh Lebanese Mediterranean cuisine. I am a falafel fan and theirs is freshly made - crispy, but moist and tasty. Mine came with a lovely abundant salad, hummus and little Lebanese pickles. I only ate half my huge plateful and took home the rest. read more

We had family in town and we were looking for good Middle Eastern food near us. Luckily we found Mediterranean Bistro. I called them late on a Friday afternoon to see about getting two Family Meals last minute and they said not a problem. Our food was packed up and ready to go when we arrived for pickup and Robbie helped us take everything out to the car. The portions were incredibly generous and the food was delicious.
