Went with my friend for lunch. They did tell us kabobs would take 20 mins - it was more like 30. Besides the wait, they mixed up our sides. However the server was quick to correct this and brought us extra which was really nice. I had the combo kebab (chicken & lamb) Both were really good. This is a casual restaurant with many selections. It feels like a burrito (tortilla) than a Mediterranean wrap. Taste is OK but not much of flavor. Fries are basic Sysco fries. I have been coming to Mediterranean Grill House for over 15 years and it never disappoints! Their babaganoush is my hands down favorite, the meat is perfectly grilled, tender and juicy. And the falafels and hummus...amazing. The staff are super helpful, friendly and the service is great. Now they've added Sana Coffee and are open late with delicious coffee and tasty treats. My husband and I have gone here several times always leave satisfied. I am not a Mediterranean food expert, but I do know that their food is always fresh and delicious. And there is something about their hummus that just puts it over the top! The fact that my husband is not a Mediterranean food fan and STILL will keep coming here also says a lot. This place is at the very end of the restaurant row on Castro, so it's not likely you're going to casually pass by it while looking for a place to eat. We arrived during a weekday lunch hour, and there were just a few occupied tables outdoors only one person eating inside. We reviewed the menu and ordered a couple wraps and fries. It took much longer than expected for our food to arrive. The two guys at the grill seemed to be furiously working, and there was a steady stream of takeout/food delivery people coming into the restaurant. After quite a while, the woman who took our order noticed that we still hadn't gotten our food and checked with the grill. About 10 minutes later (total of nearly 30 minutes of waiting) our wraps and fries were delivered, with an apology. The kufta wrap was very good, with tender and tasty pieces of beef. My lamb wrap was good but the lamb chunks were somewhat tough and difficult to bite through. Both wraps had a good amount of vegetables as a fresh counterpoint to the salty meat. The side of fries was hot, crisp, and generous. So, it was a good meal, but be prepared to wait. read more

The restaurant is on Castro street and a few blocks away from Mountain View downtown's hustle and bustle. This is a blessing in disguise because it was really easy to find parking. They have a relatively large indoor seating space. It was quiet for a Friday evening. We ordered a vegetarian and a chicken wrap. The restaurant is clean and well maintained, also felt homey. It took about 12-15 mins for us to get our food. I would say, the food is worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Pita bread felt like it was fresh out of the oven - it was soft and delicious, didn't feel rubbery or chewy. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile from the owner Aleah (?). She was very helpful helping me select my meal as this was my first visit. I ordered Beef Shawerma Plate with cucumber salad and hummus. Everything was so incredibly delicious and the hummus was the smoothest I've ever tasted!!! The dishes are so reasonably priced as well!!! Aleah also gave us two pieces of Baklava to take home. The interior is simple...but very clean. There is a beautiful mural on the far wall and wonderful paintings along the ceiling. Overall one very enjoyable dining experience....not super fancy....just super good!!! I loved going for dinner and would order there beef sharwma plate but recently had a not so great experience going there. The gentleman who took my order was quite rude and pushy. I also grabbed a yogurt drink to come with my meal and the milk tasted sour. Come to find out they gave me an expired drink. The barista, Leslie was very helpful and replaced it and expressed sincere gratitude and apologized. Why come here when I live within walking distance of Falafel Stop 2395 reviews, and Dish Dash 3885 reviews? Wife bought a $20 Groupon voucher for $12, and it was expiring today. Drove 3.5 miles from Sunnyvale, parking right on Castro street, the section not closed off to vehicle traffic. Ordered the $10 falafel with eggplant wrap, and the $13 chicken shawarma. Stayed outdoors among the 5 tables covered by sun and rain umbrellas, with 4 of the 5 indoor tables occupied. Took about 10 minutes for our order to be ready, at which time we moved indoors, when two tables became vacant. Yusra masked and all, cleaned off the crumbs and sanitized the tables before we sat down. Good thing we moved indoors, as moments later, it down poured rain, for the rest of the hour that we were here. Back in Sunnyvale it was bone dry the entire time. The falafel with eggplant wrap had a good blend of garbanzo beans spiced up and with vegetables, surprising moist and tasty to a carnivore like me. Wife dipped the wrap in a white ranch like dressing. My dish came with a cold cucumber salad, hummus, pita bread and slices of white chicken on top of a bed of rice. Excellent presentation. Loved the chicken shawarma with plenty of spices to liven up roasted white chicken breast, but not a hummus fan. Would have ordered a plain salad instead of the cucumber salad, and french fries instead of the hummus with pita, if that was possible. Usually I end up eating food that my wife doesn't care for. In this case the wife ate all the cucumber salad with tomatoes and red onions in a heavy vineagrette sauce, and all the hummus with 3 of the 4 pieces of pita, saving half of her wrap for dinner. The aromas as we walked in were promising. However, the promises ended there. We received no verbal greeting as we approached the register. That's ok...everyone's wearing mask due to COVID, so maybe a smile was hiding under there somewhere? #4: Beef and lamb shawarma ($10.99): The meat was cut in chunky strips and was tough, tendon-y and dry. Not even the overdressed lettuce could balance it out. #12: Kuftka kebab plate with 2 skewers ($14.99): I'm not sure if this had filler in it, but it had the texture of sawdust and lacked any kind of flavor. I took one small bite and was done. #27: Falafel (0.70/each): Dry as well, but edible. We forgot to choose our sides for the entree, but weren't asked either. I guess the default is hummus and tabouleh cuz that's what we got. It was the chunkiest tabouleh I've ever had, although it tasted fresh and complimented the hummus well. The hummus was nice and creamy. The best item of the bunch by far! I made sure to thank the cook twice and received no response. On the plus side: we got our food fast. This is my favorite spot in Mountain View! The food is delicious, fresh, and healthy + they have amazing vegetarian options and delicious teas and coffee. It's so hard to see a family owned business take a turn for the absolute worst. Customer service is just terrible. The person taking our order was impatient and curt. After 25 minutes of waiting for the food, when I asked I was told it would be taken out to me outside when it was ready. Like I couldn't wait inside which is so weird. And that they had a very large catering order so they were backed up. It was the Mt. View Art & Wine festival and very crowded. When I finally got our order, they forgot that my friend's meal was actually ready after 10 minutes and sitting on the counter getting cold. I have been to this restaurant for almost a decade and love the owner. The workers now just don't care and when I said 30 minutes for chicken plate is too long, she told me she didn't need my business and to leave. I did mention to the owner outside how shocked I was to be treated rudely and he apologized. They forgot the yogurt. The pita bread was old. The cucumber salad was old and the tomatoes were not fresh. Please retrain your employees to be nice. It is never ok to tell a 10 year long customer that she doesn't need my business anymore after making me wait 30 minutes for take out. You have been warned. read more

We recently visited Mediterranean Grill House for a birthday celebration. The staff were kind and helpful and we were happy to find shaded outdoor seating, since we had the big pup with us. The food was tasty and the portions were just right. The Feta cheese plate that my family member ordered looked amazing and there wasn't anything left on the plate so it must have been great! Visited here on a Saturday evening around 5pm. We parked on a street spot a few steps across the road. Good food, nice outdoor seatings. The indoor seatings were not allowed, one had to go in and order, they brought the food out in disposable boxes. I saw a mujarda plate on their menu and asked the staff about it. Since it did not come with any meat, I ordered the chicken kabob plate instead. The staff suggested that I could replace the plain rice in chicken kabob plate with mujarda rice - it was rice cooked with lentils and onions. I was pleased to know this and made this order. My husband got the falafel wrap. Falafel wrap: rating: 4/5 Fresh ingredients, soft falafels and the mix inside was well seasoned with hummus and veggies. Chicken kabob plate: rating 3.8/5 Soft pitas bread, yummy hummus and salad, soft and fresh chicken kabobs. The mujarda rice however was a little dry and the spices needed to be cooked more. Nonetheless the quantities were generous and we left with a full, happy belly. I checked into Yelp after we had ordered and got a discount coupon worth 10 bucks on orders above 25 bucks.
