I was in Seattle and of course I had to try this place. The line was long, but it went through quickly. There were several items to choose from. I had the orange ball filled with red bean paste. I also tried the wife pastry, which was OK. The ambience was casual as it was located outdoors. Overall, I wouldn't mind going back to try different items.

We ordered some humbow, almond cookies, and sesame balls to take to the ballpark to watch the angels vs Mariners. It's been our favorite for 21 years. We lived downtown next door to pike place market, and mee sum always hit the spot. Reminds me of the dim sum places in Chinatown San Francisco. It was my nieces first time in Seattle and wanted her to try all of puke place had to offer. Even though it's a 30 minute drive for us, I'll always pick up some fresh humbow and sesame balls from Mee Sum. Not that personable at the window, but who cares as long as we get our delicious dim sum.

I was so excited to get snacks from here from all the hype I heard... it definitely lacking. The hot food was ready and fresh. My cookie though was hard as a rock, like hit on the table hard. The buns really lacked flavor, there was too much bread to flavor ratio. Not worth the hype.

Food: Finally tried the popular baked pork bun here! I would say it's an 8/10. I loved the texture of the bread. it was soft, fluffy, and flavorful. there's a decent amount of pork and flavor filled inside as well! Service: I honestly thought they were pretty rude and were not very helpful. I asked one simple question and was snapped back at like she was annoyed and was rushing me. Ambiance: Pretty popular and easy to stop by as you're walking by on the streets! There's no inside of the store you can go into. You order outside at the front and your order will be given to you

the place is in public market. long line and i think they are quite famous. no seat, nor table. basically, for order to go. when you order pastry or bread may be it easy to order and eat while walking but not for dim sum though. anyway, for taste: * bbq pork hom bow: the bread is great and the filling is quite a lot but taste of filling is just ok for me, tends to be on sweet side... * sui may: this one is recommended. eating while still hot will be perfect... prices are ok and four stars from me at this time...

Love this small counter with n Pike Place. It's very popular, they put a place to queue on the street so it doesn't block the pedestrian walkway. The pastries are prominently displayed nicely inside a glass counter. There is a 2 ordering counters with a friendly staff. We love the steamed Baos (buns) , either filled with pork BBQ or chicken. The fillings are generous, unlike other Chinese restaurants. We had the pineapple buns, good as well.

Mee Sum has two booths with one side selling beverages and the other side selling baked goods and steamed dim sum. They are on the pricier end. We had a late flight to catch so we picked up a few items to have as dinner at the airport. We shared the following: sesame ball with red bean paste, siu mai, curry beef buns, vegetarian bun, vegetarian egg roll, and potstickers. Normally potstickers are pan-seared. The Mee Sum version was steamed and very mediocre. The curry beef bun was exceptional. It had a nice crust and just the right amount of filling.

Pricey but worth it for some things. There is no inside, the line starts outside and the space itself is a small booth. Service was good, the line moved quick and everything was made fresh. Out of the food we tried the most worth it was the bbq pork steamed bun and the crab rangoon. Would come back for those.

Got the steam and baked roast pork buns. Also got the curry baked bun. I would say the baked roast pork bun is better than the steam ones. Steam version's meat to dough ratio is bad. Too much bun and not enough meat. The baked curry flavor has a good kick to it. There is a line and wait is not that long.

Mee Sum Pastry was a great quick stop while exploring Seattle. I stopped by for a BBQ pork hom bow, and it ended up really hitting the spot. The bun was soft and fluffy, while the pork filling was flavorful, slightly sweet, and generously portioned. It's easy to see why this has become such a popular item and a staple for many visitors to Pike Place Market. The bakery itself is a no-frills, old-school stall that adds to its charm. You walk up, order, and take it to go. If you're walking through Pike Place Market, Mee Sum is worth a stop.

The staff at We Rise wine bar suggested I try this spot for a cheap and tasty snack and I was not disappointed. I do love a great Chinese bakery!

Not really the Hong Kong Mee Sum I was thinking about. They have a section of pastry and a section of fruit tea (a long line for fruit tea). I got moon cakes to try but it failed to impress me. Literally stuffed with red bean paste with no other ingredients inside. Tasted one dimension with no texture. It's a take out place. No chairs no tables. They are efficient to pump out the drinks tho.

This little store serves one of the best sweet-savory pineapple pastries I've ever tasted! I've stopped by 3 days in a row during my stay in Seattle. I've gotten the beef curry hom bow twice and the chicken hom bow once. They serve you a freshly baked warm pastry every time you order. The pineapple top is flaky and crispy and the inside is filled with a delicious savory center. The only downside is how steep the prices were compared to LA or the Bay Area! A small plate of siu mai costs twice as much as the ones you buy a dim sum restaurant. Definitely worth visiting if you're looking for a yummy quick bite though.

I ordered the clam chowder and, of course, oysters. The oysters were all amazing, with a great variety to choose from. They were shucked really well and came with both a mignonette sauce and a jalapeño sauce, which paired nicely with them. They are a bit pricey, but that's oysters for you. The restaurant itself is pretty big, though it can get packed during peak hours. If you're driving, just know there's no nearby parking since it's located on the waterfront, so you'll likely have to park a few blocks away. It's located on prime waterfront and we dined outside on the deck, which was fantastic, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. We started with the manila clams and they forgot to bring our crostini. By the time they brought it, the clams were getting cold. It was also SO loaded with garlic that it could've repelled 20 vampires. Literally, all you could taste was heavy salt and garlic. The clam linguine also suffered from the same problem. It was a pile of overcooked linguine, and again, heavy on the salt and garlic, light on the pesto. The $65 filet mignon was a joke. Don't ever order this. We asked for it to be prepared medium rare and we received filet that was cut in half and completely well done. Unlike the clam dishes, the steak was under-salted and accompanied by potatoes that were cooked to different levels of done-ness and some chewy asparagus. Dessert was the only thing that we enjoyed. The 9 layer chocolate cake was devine and the best part of our meal. Overall, an overpriced tourist trap and they include a 20% service charge that gets added pre-tax and they pay their server a 12% "commission" off of the 20%. WTF?! Avoid at all costs.

In its website, we learn that this is the brand's Oyster Saloon "because it is the perfect place to enjoy our specialty cocktails or a drink of your choice from our extensive bar offerings with freshly shucked oysters during an after work happy hour." I was looking for a light lunch, and selected Classic Clam Steamers, served in a shallot, butter, garlic and white wine broth ($19). Fit the bill perfectly. The seating was ample, vibe was friendly (FIFA's World Cup was in full gear), conversations were easy to participate in, and service was excellent. Restroom was clean, the Saloon was well-lit, and the bar was well-stocked.
