I found Mega Locksmith after doing some research on Angie's list, Yelp, and HomeAdvisor. We were looking to install a replacement buzzer/security system in our 3-flat in West Town. Lukas came out for an estimate and evaluation at no charge and was by far the most knowledgable/caring of all the companies that came out and his attention-to-detail for the bids and education I received was awesome. While they weren't the cheapest bid, the also weren't the most expensive, but regardless I felt confident going into the work that they're the right crew for the job. Lukas and crew came out to do the work this past week (11-28-2017) and spent the whole day working. They even noticed that the existing gate was not EXACTLY plum when they arrived so they took the time to heat up the metal and square it up so that the rest of their install was done RIGHT the first time. I had an intercom system/gate buzzer installed in a 4 unit condo building by Mega. They delivered me a professional style quote, detailing out the material and labor and stuck to that price. They finished the work in one day but also paid attention to the details such as conduit connections, hiding wire, and etc. Eric who I worked through is prompt in his responses be it email or phone. Their price was affordable and included all work for the install. I called two other contractors in this field and they were not affordable and wanted me to either hire my own welder or electrician. i needed them to replace the buzzer on my gate. I paid them $450. The tech removed the WORKING buzzer and failed to install the new one. Also failed to reinstall the old one so now it's just ruined. They said they'd come back to fix it but never called me back to reschedule even though I talked to them on the phone and they said they would. I called Mega over a month ago to change my locks on my condo door. They schedule an appointment two days later, which was fine for me, my situation was not emergent. Super helpful. I needed to get into an intercom box and thought it needed the key (the key belongs to USPS apparently). A tech called me up and asked to send pics. And he was like save money and figure out how to open the intercom box (w security screws). Really appreciate the money saved. Definitely will call them first for a lock issue. read more
